Chapter 4 Hayes.
"Almost all the available places are booked..." Dave tutted as we strolled to the parking lot.
“Come on, what about your place? You stay with your parent, it's close by and pretty massive to accommodate us." Thor said.
“They’re home. You don’t expect me to bring y'all to come terrorize them right?”
“Are they gonna bang themselves tonight or what? We’d be as quiet as possible…” Thor chimed in.
“I think this is why Gia is still refusing to have anything to do with you,” I chuckled, and he rolled his eyes at me.
“Yeah, exactly! The day your dick falls off is the day she finally notices you,” Kaden added, making the guys break out into loud cracks of laughter.
Thor shoved Kaden's shoulder, rolling his eyes. “Man, whatever. It’s not even like that. I don’t do dating, and neither does she. It’s mutual.”
“You don’t do dating but till now, still always stalk your ex?" Kaden added in, and I joined them in laughing.
“I’ve found a place… There’d be a lot of girls there, Hayes's woman’s friend is celebrating her birthday there so I guess it’s a perfect hangout place!” Dave mentioned.
"Hayes woman? Which of them? Lexi?" Kaden asked.
"Oh, come on! Who else would dare go by that title if not Lexi." Thor smirked at me.
Well they were part of people who wouldn't believe I was not dating Lexi.
We stopped by the parking lot, going to stay late at night today.
With our parents down in Australia on business, the house was completely ours—the perfect setup for the guys to score.
But for me? The thought of bringing a girl back to my sheets didn't do anything for me anymore. Not when the only thing it would achieve was forcing Fiona to hear another woman's noises coming from down the hall. Just the thought of it made my stomach turn.
I entered the driver's seat and Kaden took the passenger by my side.
Igniting the engine, I glanced at Thor who was in the other car.
"Ready?" He called out.
"You bet." I tightened my grip on the wheels and at once, we sped away from the garage as though in a race—it was literally a race even.
We weren't going to get moments like this after graduation. This was our senior year, and I had zero intention of letting a single second of reckless fun slip past me.
"Who you chatting with?” I took a glimpse at Kaden.
“Fiona… I didn’t even see her today and I had promised to help her out with settling down. She’s definitely gonna get mad at me for not keeping up to my promises.”
I looked back at the road. “You know she’s no longer a kid right? She can figure things out besides Gia is with her…”
“Gia?” Kaden let out a small laughter. “You mean the Gia we all know?"
I smirked.
He really was the 'worry daddy,' just like Fiona used to call him.
Always protective of her when there was me.
But I guess thanks to his protectiveness I was still keeping a safe distance from Fiona—if anything I was capable of not only ruining our friendship, but her.
Whatever I had bottled up all.tgese years were capable of ruining everything.
I hit the brakes, bringing the car to a smooth stop in front of the flashing neon signs of the club.
“I don’t plan on attending club tonight…” Kaden said as we alighted from the car.
“Well, that’s on you. You can turn back now it’s not too late…” I said and he chuckled.
“Drinks are on you!” Thor shouted and I smirked.
“I would have won… Kaden got me distracted.” I said, and Kaden only scoffed
We made our way into the club and Thor wouldn't stop screaming his lungs out.
He better consider being a hypeman after graduation.
“I’m gonna get some drinks in the bar." I said, my voice high thanks to the music blasting in every corners of the bar.
I sat on the stool.
“Tequila please,” I called out and the barman went ahead with my order.
I ran my eyes among the people over here, and you bet it's crowdy already.
"Here you go..." The barman called out.
I turned to him and collected the drink.
I took a sip from the alcohol, then another. Just then, a female hands curled around me
“You’re here,” Lexi called pecking me on the cheek.
She settled on the stool beside me, calling out her order to the barman. If it wasn't for the music, I was sure the gum in her mouth was just as loud.
“You didn’t invite me to the party last night huh? I heard from my friend who was there…”
“Why couldn't she tell you about it instead?” I asked dryly.
“She got a late invitation too and thought I was gonna attend… You must have been bored without me.” She said as she trailed her hand down my chest with a seductive look. “But I’m here tonight… You aren’t gonna be alone.”
She came closer to taking my lips when the barman called out. “Your drink is here.”
Lexi hissed glaring at him.
I looked away from her chugging down the rest of my drink and looking at the guys who were already starting to pick ladies they were going to spend the night with.
I scanned around this club again, and just then I felt the lingering gaze on me, just like usual.
I turned to this person and standing right there in the middle of the dancing crowd was Fiona.
Her eyes weren't on me—they were pinned to Lexi's hands on my chest, her expression dripping with pure disgust. She looked like she wanted to rip Lexi's hair out—ready to tear us apart.
And seeing that look on her face? It killed every single ounce of restraint I’d spent years building up.
I was going to have to apologize to Kaden tomorrow, because right now, I was done fighting it.
