Chapter 4

Just then, my communicator crystal lit up.

“Stella! I heard everything!” My mother’s voice came through, laced with icy fury.

“Don’t be afraid! Mommy’s coming to get you right now!”

The moment I heard her voice, I couldn’t hold back anymore. Clutching the communicator, I broke down sobbing, tears blurring my vision as my body nearly collapsed from exhaustion.

The driver glanced at me and pulled the car over beside a small hill.

“What’s wrong? Who hurt you? Need me to help you out?” he asked.

My trembling finger pressed the speaker button.

The next second, my mother—Alpha Luna Ivette—roared from the other end:

“If you so much as touch my daughter, you’ll spend the rest of your life crawling!”

The driver’s face turned ashen, his tongue twisted in shock.

Then he caught sight of the silver Luna marking on my exposed shoulder—his smug expression instantly vanished, replaced by sheer fear and shame.

He stiffly barked,

“Playing the slut and acting the saint, huh?”

“Get out! Don’t dirty my car—get lost!”

I stepped out and sat by the roadside. The wind chilled me to the bone, but inside, I felt nothing—just a hollow void.

Suddenly, a black SUV screeched to a stop in front of me. The door swung open.

It was Alpha Rex and his ever-fake, fated-mate-wannabe: Evelyn.

Alpha Rex curled his finger at me:

“I told you. Without me, who else is gonna care about you? Get in the car and stop making a scene.”

I fought the nausea rising in my throat and opened my communicator.

As soon as I tapped into the old “Bro Pack” group chat, a barrage of filth hit me like a slap to the face.

“She’s not replying?”

“@Luna Stella What’s the matter? Too many male wolves keeping you busy lately?”

And the most sickening part—

[Alpha Rex: That’s enough. Keep mocking her and I won’t let it slide.]

Then, moments later—

[Didn’t you say she was all used up, ready for us to “practice on”?]

[You should’ve seen how she begged that night on her knees…]

Several compressed videos finished uploading.

I tapped on one, and the moment I heard my own familiar voice—I blacked out for a second, barely holding back the urge to vomit.

“Enid…”

I called out to my wolf spirit in my mind.

“I’m here.”

Enid’s voice burned gently, like a campfire in snowy moonlight—soft, but seething with rage.

“You shouldn’t have to endure this alone.”

I forced my shaking hands to stay steady, though my heart had already been shattered.

Right on cue, Evelyn played innocent:

“Alpha Rex, don’t be mad. Maybe… Stella’s just drunk.”

I laughed. Really laughed. Tears rolled down my cheeks and dripped silently from my chin.

Back at Silverfang’s headquarters, late that night—

Evelyn curled up on the sofa and dialed Alpha Victor, current head of Blackthorn Pack and Rex’s childhood friend.

Her voice trembled, on purpose:

“Victor… I can’t take it anymore. Stella said she’s going to ruin me… she even wants to steal my baby…” She choked on a sob. “I’m scared she might poison me or worse…”

Then she mass-sent a batch of photos—knees smeared with antiseptic, neck covered in fake scratch marks.

The caption read:

[I never wanted to fight over anything… I just want to protect my baby. If I could, I’d rather end it all.]

As she masterfully manipulated public opinion, I had already been driven to the edge of a cliff by Alpha Rex.

He gripped my chin, eyes filled with cruelty:

“You love screwing around so much, huh? Come on then—I’ll deliver you right to them. Let’s see how pretty you beg!”

He yanked my hair, trying to drag me toward the car.

Suddenly—

A screech of tires split the air. Dozens of vehicles slammed to a halt all at once.

Doors flung open in unison. Winsor Pack’s elite warriors, clad in armor, poured out in tight formation.

Alpha Tim and Luna Ivette were the first to step down.

My father’s fury thundered like a blizzard:

“Let her go!”

Rex froze, stunned.

My mother marched straight up, raising her hand to block him.

Her voice was cold as ice:

“Touch her again, and I’ll carry out the Moon Goddess’s judgment myself.”

“Do you see now? You are not alone.”

Enid whispered gently.
