Chapter 4 Four

Kimberly

“What do you want from me,” I said flatly.

“To be respectful just like every other person is to me,” he answered

I scoffed,“ I’m not like every other person, aside from that, you have been hell-bent on making this school miserable for me!”

He sneered,“Geez! You’re really disrespectful and if you’re not going to learn I will really be putting you in your place.”

“What do you even gain from it? Do you really need to do all these to feel important?” I questioned, tilting my head to the side.

And he grabbed my shoulders forcefully, pushing me to the wall.

My heart thudded heavily and my eyes widened in shock.

He was breathing heavily, his eyes locking mine and his gaze deep and intense.

I felt my inside twisted,I hope he isn’t trying to do anything stupid.

The door opens abruptly, with Cassie walking in.

He released his grip on my shoulders immediately, moving a distance away from me.

Cassie’s gaze shifted to me, her eyes cold and intense.

“ I warned you, stay away from my Boyfriend,” she yelled , pointing her fingers at me.

Her face twisted into a deep frown and she stormed out of the class.

Xavier didn’t hesitate, he ran after her immediately.

I paced around the class for a moment, my memory replaying the scenario that just happened.

“ I hope it doesn’t mean more trouble,” I muttered underneath my breath.

It was time for extra curriculars, I haven’t chosen the one I want to join yet. I’ve been part of the cheerleading team since middle school and I was the leader in my previous school. So I decided that I will just join the cheerleading team here too.

Although I have been contemplating on joining the swimming team or perhaps doing both.

I had signed up for the cheerleading team earlier but this will be my first time of practice.

I walked into the changing room, and all eyes shifted to me.

I walked slowly to my locker and picked up my cheerleading uniform. My eyes glistened as I unfolded it. The top was white with a slanted bold blue stripe on the right side and the skirt was plain blue.It was so pretty, a lot more pretty than the one worn in my previous school.

I was already facing the locker, so I looked above my shoulders to see if anyone was looking as I took off my shirt.

“Hey,” Cassie said as she held my shoulder making me face her.

“What??,” she sneered,“ Where are your boobs?”

I quickly use my hands to cover my chest, my mouth open to say something but no words are coming out and then I just smile sheeplishly.

Oh my God no! I know I have small boobs, but it's not something that has made me insecure and I have been trying not to.

In my previous school I had received some jabs from boys , but never the girls.

“What kind of bow is this, screaming cheap!” She pretended to puke, sticking out her tongue dramatically.

And the other girls started laughing.

“Cassie, what do you want from me?” I said simply, folding my hands across my chest.

“I don’t want to see you close to my boyfriend,” she said, sternly.

“Then keep him away from me” I said simply, my expression neutral.

She tilted her head to the side, her face in slight confusion like she had just heard something strange.

She turned to face the other girls,“y’all can you believe this little brat, try to force herself on my boyfriend, she hasn’t even spent a week here.”

The other girls gasped and murmuring filled the air.

“Cassie,” I whispered.

“ You gold digger,” she sneered.

Those words felt like a sting in my body, I raised my hand about to slap her, but I froze midway. My scholarship, I’m not going to let her ruin it.

“ Trying to slap me huh?” She scoffed

She walked closer to me, yanked my hair and then pulled it forcefully.

I tried to release myself from her grip but she tightened it more.

She clenched her jaw?“It’s like you’re willing to tamper your scholarship, if you ever lift a finger at me I will report you.”

She released my hair forcefully and I whimpered, breathing heavily.

It was time for rehearsals and Cassie as the leader of the cheerleading team gave me ridiculous moves to do just so other girls could laugh at me.

I finally got home and I met my mum sitting on the couch, she came back early today again.

“Hi mum.”

“ Hey pookie, how was school today?” She asked.

“Good” I answered as I dropped my back pack on the couch and went to sit beside her.

“ Are you okay?” I asked.

“ Yes, I just want to tell you something,” she said simply.

“ What’s that?”

“ Kimberly, as much as I want you to do well in your studies, you know things are tough right now,” she paused.

I nodded, adjusting closer to her.

“ I just wanted to ask if you can help me out in my workplace, just on weekends,” she quickly added.

“ Sure, Why not, it is no big deal at all,” I said.

She smiled and then pulled me into a hug.

I was supposed to start the next day which is Saturday, but since my mum is going for her check up I decided to go today.

She gave me the directions, it wasn’t hard to find at all.

My mum works in the mansion of some wealthy people, the Greys, the people who gave me my scholarship.

When I got to the mansion, I couldn’t stop staring as the gate opened, it was big and everything screamed exquisite.

I reached the front door and pressed the door button, it made a chiming sound but there was no answer.

I pressed it again and the door opened. My eyes widened. What am I in the right place?

“You,” I snapped, pointing at him.

Xavier Grey, my bully. I’d be under the same roof working for him and his family?
