Chapter 4 Marking Territories.

STAR

I don't know how but I managed to get to school. I stood in front of the gigantic black gate, with the Academic's name engraved on it, fuming.

These stepbrothers of mine are really audacious and I'd like to see them try even further. I'll make sure not to cower despite being wolfless.

Not in my lifetime.

Ever.

The guards at the gate let me through when I showed them the school pass. It had a long cobblestone path that led to the main building.

Students hanging outside stared curiously at me as I walked. Some leaned close to each other to whisper amongst themselves while some blandly stared.

The school structure looked like a fortress built from old magic. I don't get the hype of the school; honestly, I wish I'd stayed at my old school, and the students were starting to creep me out.

I made my way to the main building clutching tightly to the strap of my designer bag. The interior aspect of the building looked really nice and modern. My heels made a soft click on the marble floor as I walked till I got to the hallway and my eyes dropped on them.

"Those jerks," I muttered under my breath.

My heart raced a little but I calmed myself immediately. I won't let two immature dickheads get the best out of me.

Deep breaths, Star. I told myself as I inhaled sharply.

I kept my cool composure, walking at a composed pace with a warm smile plastered on my lips. The buzzy hall became silent as I made my entrance.

"Who is that?"

"New girl?"

"OMG! Is that a Birkin bag?"

"That's the latest edition!"

I smirked, I'd purposely picked out the bag for school this morning. Trust me to make a statement about myself everywhere I go.

"She is so pretty!" That boosted my confidence and gave me more morale to keep my head high I could. Good thing, I'd always been confident about myself, well, I will say it's because I know I'm pretty and that would leave an edge on people, too bad it didn't work on the twins.

I guess it's not everyone I can claw with my charms.

Liam and Levi were clustered with a few girls and some boys as they leaned against the lockers. I knew those tyrants would be popular in school and have people groveling at their feet.

Our eyes met as I walked, Levi stared at me with those haunting eyes of his while Liam gave me a smug expression. I ignored them acting like their very existence meant nothing to me and I planned to keep it that way.

Act. Like. They. Don't. Exist.

From the memo mum had already given me last night about the school, I was able to locate the number of my locker... Three. Six. Seven.

I unzipped my bag and put some of my stuff into the locker when I heard footsteps behind me.

"Well, who do we have here?" A feminine voice rang out behind me and out of curiosity I snapped my head over my shoulder to see an average height blonde girl staring at me with three other girls behind her sizing me up with their eyes.

I recognized them immediately. They were the girls standing along with Liam and Levi. They must be here to mark their territory—typical high school stuff.

Tch…

Honestly, they should come up with something new.

It's getting tiring.

"Uhm, hi?" I raised a brow.

"I'm Daisy Vale, Alpha born of the Louis Fang pack," she introduced, a slight smirk curling at the edge of her red-coated lips.

"I'm Star," I introduced briefly.

"Star?" She guffawed.

"Like Star girl?" she joked with a mocking chuckle, and the three girls behind her reminisced in her not-so-funny comment.

I rolled my eyes, staring down at them. Trust me, all four of them are short or maybe I'm just too tall as a girl. "Anyway, new girl," Daisy dragged on the word, ‘new’ in a serious tone.

"I make the calls around here," just as I thought.

They were here to mark their territory. I mean, I don't blame them. I would also feel threatened by myself if I happened to be the girl always in the spotlight and someone like me popped up out of nowhere.

"Right," I responded curtly.

"That's good to know," I added, not to sound rude but Daisy's expression already looked like I was getting on her nerves already but she managed a fake smile on her face.

That's just a facade, it won't take long before she shows me her true colors and I wouldn’t want to find myself in such a situation because I don't have a wolf to aid my fights in case I engage in one.

Good thing, Mum had me mask my scent if not everyone would figure me out as the weakest.

"So, what pack are you from?" she asked curiously.

"That's some expensive designer bag you're carrying," one of the girls behind her said.

It took them long to figure, "Oh, I have tons of this at home," I uttered casually with a soft smile.

"Probably a fake," Daisy frowned, she stealithy eyed the bag as jealousy crept on her face.

"And, oh, about the pack I'm from..." I faced Daisy.

"It's nothing you should bother yourself with," I said and her gaze darkened.

The bell chose the perfect moment to ring and I beamed. "Well, girls, I need to get to class, wouldn't want to be late on my first day," I spoke dismissively, I didn't care which one I was talking to, I just wanted to get the hell away from them and hoped they got the clue.

"I didn't say you could leave," Daisy spoke in a deadpan expression and I wasn't in the mood either. She had better get out of my face before I lose my cool.

I thought the twins were the only dickheads I would have to deal with but I'm glad to know more clowns followed in their steps.

"Excuse me?" I scoffed, staring down at her. If she weren't being a bitch, I'd have said she looked so frigging cute in that red band on her hair. She still looks cute either way.

“You haven't answered my question yet, what pack are you from?” She repeated.

“If it's what you're thinking, then you're absolutely wrong. I'm no big shot for you to concern yourself with,” I stated.

Daisy scoffed unbelievably, folding her arms over her chest. “So, you think you're better than everyone here?”

"She doesn't know what she's signing up for yet," one of the girls with black hair snickered and Daisy's smirk only grew bigger.

"Well, girls, it's only a matter of time she'll learn her place," she smiled with pride.

I grew bored of them and wanted all means to leave their presence but they had me trapped against my locker as they picked on me.

“Girls, don't you think we should give the new girl a welcome party? She clapped her hands, then raised her right hand in the air. The girl with brunette hair holding a cup of coffee gave it to Daisy.

My eyes widened, not in shock but because I knew what she was about to do. She dares not.

Daisy tipped her hand forward to pour the drink for me but I slapped the coffee cup out of her hand and it fell to the ground, the coffee splattering on the floor.

Daisy and the girls gasped in shock. “You bitch! How dare you?” Daisy flared. She flared and raised her hand to slap me.

She seriously can't be thinking of hitting me with that height of her.

I was about to grab her wrist the moment she thought she could touch me when the twins appeared behind the girls. "Hey, Daisy, why don't you run along to class and give us some time alone with the new girl," Liam smirked, placing his right hand on Daisy's shoulder and gently squeezing.

"Okay, baby," she dropped her hand but not before glaring menacingly at me.

Baby? I laughed, amused.

A sudden slam on the locker made my knees buckle, Liam had trapped me against the locker, his hands both at my side. My lungs squeezed when he leaned forward.

Why is this hot fuck so close to me?

“Never thought, you'd make it on time, Princess.”
