Chapter 4

"So you can only use such a low-level clone spell?" Victor slowly approached my clone. "I felt you weren't an ordinary person, but I didn't expect your true level to be just a low-level mage."

"I'm warning you, you're not allowed to lay a hand on Elena!" I glared at him.

"Hahaha, dream on!" He reached out and crushed my clone.

"Elena is in danger!" I opened my eyes. I knew that once the wedding was over, everything would be irreversible, but Victor certainly wouldn't dare to do anything to Elena before the wedding, so I couldn't waste any more time.

I looked at my palm. "It's time..."

I felt countless elemental forces surging within me.

A week later, Victor and Elena's wedding was held in the city park, and they invited the entire family from the city.

I changed into an inconspicuous outfit and blended into the crowd of guests, but I still attracted disdain. "You're dressed like a beggar! Do you even deserve to attend such a high-class wedding?"

The bodyguard held me down, and I used my "persuasion technique"—"Look closely! This is imported!"

"I'm so sorry!" They let go of me and bowed in apology.

I walked into the wedding venue, sat down at the back, and looked towards the stage, waiting for my target to appear.

On the platform, the master of ceremonies was already in place. He was an elderly man dressed in a white robe, with a golden magic association badge pinned to his chest.

Victor stood to the right of the stage, dressed in a perfectly tailored white tuxedo, a blue rose tucked into his breast pocket. His gaze swept across the guests with the composure of a hunter surveying his prey.

Romantic music begins to play.

Elena appeared at the end of the flower corridor.

The wedding ceremony proceeded as planned. "Now, please sign the contract together!" the emcee read out the ceremony document.

"I believe no one would object to this perfectly matched couple..."

" I object! "

I yelled .

Everyone heard it , and they looked at me in surprise, wondering where this guy came from who-knows-what .

I stepped out from between my seats and onto the lawn in front of the stage. The sunlight was blinding, and I squinted as I looked at Elena on the stage.

Elena 's expression changed ; she looked at me with disgust in her eyes . Victor was also surprised, but his fake smile concealed his anger.

"Who is this person?" someone asked in a low voice.

"It looks like Elena's ex-husband!" someone replied.

"Is it that good-for-nothing, the one you tricked?"

Whispers spread.

Someone let out a low chuckle , ready to see what would happen next .

Derek, who was sitting in the front row, suddenly stood up, his face ashen.

"You fucking—" He took a step forward. "Don't come any closer!"

I didn't look at him.

“Elena, you can’t marry this hypocrite. He’s after your protective crystal.”

I said calmly.

Laughter erupted from all directions. It wasn't mockery , but a far more cruel scorn.

A man dressed like a beggar actually said in front of everyone that Mr. Victor married Miss Elena for a guardian crystal.

“Hahaha!” Victor laughed until tears streamed down his face. “You’re quite the joker, Cole.”

"I can have as many of these as I want, but don't make false accusations!" He stopped smiling and stared at me seriously.

No one believed what I said; everyone just assumed that I couldn't accept the blow of the divorce and that I had lost my mind.

exactly do you want?" Elena finally broke her silence and questioned me . Her voice was soft, but every word was icy, piercing my heart . "We have nothing to do with each other anymore. You signed that yourself."

"I hope you can be happy ," I said.

The lawn fell silent again , then someone burst out laughing.

" Happy? Is she only happy with you? "

"Wearing that suit you picked up from the recycling center ?"

"A good-for-nothing who can't even do magic wants to steal Mr. Victor's woman?"

Boos erupted, and the angry crowd began throwing bottles and plates at me.

I didn't flinch , I just stared firmly at Elena , completely ignoring the gazes and actions of others .

“ From that ball, the necklace, the engagement… ” I said, “ it was all his scheme. He never loved you— ”

"That's enough ! "

Victor's voice wasn't loud, but it was like a knife, cutting off all other sounds.

He raised his right hand , and everyone fell silent—it was the move of "Pain Spell," it seemed Victor was about to get serious.

A purple beam of light flew towards me, but I simply closed my eyes calmly.
