Chapter 5

Jedediah Hicks watched Miles Hamilton's stubborn demeanor with no trace of pity in his eyes, instead a cold smirk played on his lips. He turned and walked to the corner desk in the room, picked up the remote control, and pressed the play button. The surveillance screen on the wall lit up instantly, showing a small room where a naked woman was pinned down by three men, like a small, less dog, subjected to their wanton abuse and beating. The woman's cries were heartbreaking, yet she received no mercy, only desperately struggling, ultimately lying on the ground, battered and motionless.Miles Hamilton's eyes instantly turned red, her hands clenched into tight fists, nails digging deep into her palms, trembling all over in pain. Her stomach churned violently; she covered her mouth, struggling to hold back from vomiting, tears streaming uncontrollably down her cheeks. This is the consequence of rebellion? This is the fate she will face if she does not obey?Jaden Hicks turned off the monitor and walked up to Miles Hamilton, his voice gentle but laced with a chilling warning: "Girl, I advise you to wise up. Once you're in here, there's no turning back. If you cooperate, dress properly, and attend to the guests, you can lessen your suffering; but if you dare to resist again, the people in the video just now will be your fate."Miles Hamilton's eyes brimmed with tears, his voice trembling as he humbly pleaded, "Jaden Hicks, I'm begging you, I didn't come here willingly, I was kidnapped. I have friends lying in the hospital waiting for me to come save them. If you let me go, I'll do anything you want, I can work for you, I can pay you back, I...""Enough." Jaden Hicks interrupted her impatiently, his tone filled with sarcasm, "Here, begging doesn't work. I've seen plenty of girls like you who start off tough but end up submitting anyway?"She paused, her gaze settling on Miles Hamilton, her tone softening slightly but still menacing, "What's your name?"“Miles…” Miles Hamilton whispered in reply, that was the nickname Reed Coleman had given her, her only anchor.“Miles, it’s a nice name.” Jaden Hicks nodded. “From now on, you’ll call yourself Miles. Stop thinking about escaping, and stop thinking about your friends. Here, there’s only obedience.”“No! I can’t stay here! Even if I die, I won’t stay here!” Miles Hamilton abruptly lifted his head, his eyes filled with determination. Reid was still waiting for her, she couldn’t give up, absolutely not!Jedediah Hicks snorted coldly, the contempt in his eyes deeper than ever: “Want to die? Do you think you deserve that? Here, you don’t even have the right to die.”Just then, the room door was pushed open, and Ezra Hollan walked in wearing a revealing short skirt, her snow-white chest dazzlingly bright. She held a camisole dress identical to the one she had just taken, walked up to Miles Hamilton, and said with a hint of mockery, "Jedediah Hicks, this new girl isn't very obedient. Should I teach her some rules?"Jedediah Hicks shot Ezra Holland a look and waved his hand: "Go upstairs first, don't cause trouble here."Ezra Holland pouted resentfully, twisting her waist, and gave Miles Hamilton a flirtatious glance, her eyes filled with mockery and triumph, piercing Miles Hamilton's heart like needles. Miles Hamilton looked at her retreating figure, a chill running through his heart—she absolutely did not want to become like Ezra Holland, absolutely not!“Miles, I give you one more chance.” Jaden Hicks’ tone turned cold as two tall men suddenly appeared behind him, glaring fiercely at Miles Hamilton, “Do it yourself, or do they help you?”Miles Hamilton watched as the two men stepped closer to her, the images from the surveillance footage just moments ago flashing in her mind. Fear washed over her like a tide, tears falling even harder. She knew she had no choice, she couldn't die, she still had to go back and save Reed."I... I'll do it myself," Miles Hamilton said, her voice trembling with despair, teeth clenched tightly against her lower lip, almost to the point of drawing blood.Jedediah Hicks waved his hands, asking the two men to leave, while he stood at the doorway, eyes fixed on Miles Hamilton, preventing her from playing tricks.Miles Hamilton crouched on the ground, trembling in his hands, slowly removing his clothes, pale skin exposed to the air, tears dripping down his cheeks onto his chest, bone-chillingly cold. He hastily put on a tank top short skirt, the skirt too short, tightly clinging to his body, outlining a slender waistline, every step seemed to torture his dignity.Jedediah Hicks walked over, grabbed her up, glanced her over, and a satisfied smile played on his lips: "That's more like it, be obedient, and there will always be benefits for you."Miles Hamilton lowered his head, his hands tightly clutching the hem of his skirt, his voice faint but with a hint of hope: "Jedediah Hicks, the girl who came in with me, Ye Chuchu, where is she? Can you tell me?"Jedediah Hicks waved his hand nonchalantly, with a dismissive tone: "Oh, you mean her? Probably up in some room."Up in some room? Miles Hamilton's heart dropped sharply. Though she was innocent, she faintly guessed the meaning of these two words. A strong sense of guilt surged through her heart, it was her who hadn't protected Chu Chu, it was her who had dragged Chu Chu into trouble.“Jedediah Hicks, I beg you, don't hurt her, punish me instead, okay?” Miles Hamilton looked up, tears welling in his eyes, pleading.Jedediah Hicks impatiently pushed her away: “Stop talking, just do your own job. Come with me, we have guests waiting.”Miles Hamilton was pulled by Jaden Hicks through one brightly lit corridor after another. The club had excellent soundproofing, so only the noisy music from outside could be heard, not a sound from the rooms inside, yet the more so, the more Miles Hamilton's heart grew fearful—what was really happening in those rooms?Just then, Ezra Holland hurried over, wearing five-inch heels, with pale face, and whispered something into Jaden Hicks' ear.Miles Hamilton couldn't bring herself to listen; her mind was filled with the image of Chu Chu and all the ways to escape here. But what she didn't know was that Ezra Holland's words would soon push her into an even more unexpected situation and would make her encounter again the man who both terrified and helplessed her—Bryce Kendall Pickman.Jedediah Hicks's eyes changed instantly after hearing Ezra Holland's words, a strange light appearing in his gaze as he looked at Miles Hamilton, as if he had found a treasure. She patted Ezra Holland's shoulder, her tone tinged with a subtle excitement: "Got it, you may go down first."Ezra Holland looked resentfully at Miles Hamilton, then turned and left. Jaden Hicks turned around, a smile spreading across his face, his tone softening considerably, but behind the smile lay deeper schemes: "Miles, opportunity has come. If you seize this opportunity, saving your friend is the least of it, and even if you want to leave here, it's not impossible."
