Chapter 4 Vampire territory
"Leondra, can I ask you something?" I asked, looking at Leondra.
Leondra walked over to Henary and sat down next to her. "Just ask, what do you want to ask?"
"If I may know where we are now? I want to find out who has spread bad rumors about me, but I don't know where I am right now." I said.
"Are we in Witch territory right now? It seems like we're very far from Pack Astar," she continued.
"We are indeed quite far from Wolf territory," Leondra replied casually.
"Then where are we? I'm really curious," I asked with a pleading look.
"We're in Xaero." Leondra's words certainly surprised me.
I even stood up immediately; how could Leondra bring her into the enemy's cage? If the vampires knew that she was the wife of Alpha Almarjaf, her life would be instantly lost.
"Take it easy; I will protect you; no need to panic like that." Leondra tried to calm me down.
But I was still panicking; I didn't like being in enemy territory either; it would cause more trouble for her.
"There's no wolf blood in your body, so you'll be safe here," Leondra explained.
"Can we get out of here? I think it's dangerous if we stay here," I said with a pleading look.
"The vampires won't hurt you, Henary, so there's no need to panic like that. Besides, what are you afraid of, the vampires? They won't kill for no reason," Leondra said.
"This place is the safest to protect you."
Leondra's words were true; if Alpha Almarjaf dared to come here, it was tantamount to inviting war and giving up his life.
"I guarantee the vampires won't hurt you," Leondra said while holding Henary's hand. She was trying to keep Henary from getting scared.
"Damn it! Because of Almarjaf, my women hate and fear vampires. If Henary finds out I am the leader of the Vampires, would she still want to be by my side?" Leondra said to herself.
"Alright. I try not to be afraid. But we must remain vigilant," I said, to which Leondra nodded her head in reply.
"I have to disguise myself, lest Henary find out my true identity," Leondra said to herself.
Leondra decided to wear a mask when she saved Henary that time.
"Why are you wearing that mask again?" I asked curiously.
"Of course, to protect you, if I don't use this and one of the vampires finds out that I'm a witch, you'll be in trouble too; they'll find out about you," Leondra explained.
"Wouldn't they still find out by smelling your body scent? I heard that vampires have a very good sense of smell."
"I know about that, but I can make my body scent unable to be smelled by them with my magic," Leondra replied.
"You are very good." Hearing Henary's praise made Leondra happy and proud of herself; she also smiled a little.
She wanted to take Henary in her arms because she was so happy to hear the praise that came out of Henary's mouth.
In another place.
Alpha Almarjaf was administering a flogging punishment; he himself did not expect that the woman who had been his first love turned out to be the real traitor.
He wanted to torture until this woman begged for her own death.
"Earl! You have accused my wife and spread rumors that are not good for my wife; in fact, you yourself did that," Alpha Almarjaf snapped.
You are also the one who destroyed my household," growled Alpha Almarjaf.
"I did this because I love you; we should be married," said Earl.
"You are not worthy of being my wife, and you are only after my power. I hate traitors!" shouted Alpha Almarjaf while pressing both cheeks of Earl.
"But your wife has also cheated on you!" shouted Earl.
"The proof is that she was rescued by another man, and it was clearly her affair," he continued.
"That's my fault, but it's not certain that he's Henary's affair either. I'll find out first," Alpha Almarjaf replied.
"Why don't you believe me? It's obvious he's Henary's lover, since you haven't touched or shown love to Henary."
"You are more concerned with me," she continued.
Alpha Almarjaf looked sharply at Earl; he was very sure that a woman like Henary was a loyal woman.
If Henary intended to leave him, it would have been a long time ago.
"I won't believe your foul words anymore," Alpha Almarjaf snapped.
There was a reason why Alpha Almarjaf used to believe that Henary killed her mother: because her mother died at the hands of a witch, and Henary herself was a descendant of a witch.
Alpha Almarjaf guessed wrong; he thought Henary had used his witch power to kill, considering Henary's power was very large.
But Henary's power was still sealed because Henary had not learned about his power.
"It turns out you killed my mother because she didn't give her blessing to you! My mother prefers Henary," Alpha Almarjaf snapped.
"Whip him again and let no one feed him!" ordered Alpha Almarjaf and left.
Tomorrow he and the ancestors would perform a ritual to take the Earl's power.
"Prepare the troops; we proceed to find my wife," Alpha Almarjaf shouted firmly.
"Yes, Alpha!" They then resumed their search for Henary.
"Who is the man who helped Henary? His strength is so great. I can't even penetrate him," Alpha Almarjaf said.
"I don't care about that man; I need to find Henary and mend my relationship. I will make Henary like me; don't let anyone else touch Henary first," Alpha Almarjaf growled.
Because of his emotions, his eyes turned a bright green color.
"I have a bad feeling that if the man who helps Henary is not from among the Wolves, if Henary loves that man and has intercourse, then Henary will side with him and the Wolves will be even weaker," he continued.
"No! That won't happen; Henary is only mine," he said with confidence.
Alpha Almarjaf didn't think Henary would be in his greatest enemy's territory at all.
"I'll ask Witch Aexso for help; she can definitely help me."
Witch Aexso was the younger sister of Henary's father; she also sided with and respected the Wolves because Alpha Almarjaf's parents had once been meritorious among the Witches.
