Chapter 5 Chapter 5
Seraphine’s POV
I stared intently at Kael, and I nodded my head in denial. My wolf definitely has a double intent to actually support Damian’s claim.
Was this some kind of conspiracy?
I am on your side Seraphine, don’t doubt my judgment.
“If you really are, why would you support Damian’s blasphemy about me?” I retorted.
The lycan paced endlessly in my subconscious mind and the world outside wasn’t quiet either, Damian and Kael had gotten into a heated discussion about it. And my parents kept yelling at me but I couldn't focus on whatever they had to say.
Seraphine, Damian believes his truth, his eyes are sincere right now.
“This is ridiculous, how can it be true when it never happened?” I responded.
The vastness of my mind was starting to fade out, I couldn’t stay focused much longer, the world around me was getting louder.
There is only one way to find out, let me take control of our body.
That sounds more scary than Damian’s false claims. Every werewolf learnt from legend that a Lucan’s wolf was a whole in itself. If it takes over and pushes its humanity to the brink , it could trap it forever and unleash cruelty into the world. My ancestors were haunted into extinction, that alone scares me as the last of her kind.
“No can do.” I said strongly.
We have to do this if we are going to win, your silence is defeat Seraphine.
“I saw you fuck her!”
“I did no such thing Alpha Damian, you have to believe me.” Kael pleaded.
“I walked in on both of you but you were too engrossed to notice me, dammit!” Damian yelled back.
I staggered backwards,
“How do I handle this?” I questioned aloud.
All eyes were fixated on me like I made the least of sense.
Let me out, Seraphine, I can handle it.
I closed my eyes and allowed my thoughts to flow, I walked out of the limelight in the vastness of my subconscious mind and entered a dark room. The door slammed shut but there was a tiny window through which I saw the earth.
My Lycan had emerged, sudden darkness descended on the Blackhood mansion and whirlwind followed along. Everyone was perplexed. At that point, everyone was shaken, even Damian couldn’t keep up with his arrogance. Every wolf bowed down in their space, weakening their human body. Damian wasn’t spared too, even an Alpha wolf fears a Lycan.
My wolf walked towards Damian, he hadn’t noticed her until she touched him. All of Damian’s memories flashed before my eyes. I glanced through it all and popped one,
The one that had me in it,
I wasn’t sleeping nor was I cooking.
I was moaning, pressing my naked butt towards Kael’s hardness.
I gasped.
“How could this be?” I questioned in awe.
Someone powerful planted the memory in his head, the original memory has to be buried somewhere.
I got to work, shoveling aside numerous memories while I searched frantically for a similar story. I couldn’t find it, all I kept digging were his happy memories with Selena,
“Damn you Damian!” I thought as I pushed through another page of his hospital stay with Selena.
“I can’t find it, I think we…..”
The thought died in me as I extracted out the last pile, I spread it across. Damian had walked in on Kael and I was talking about the weather. We weren’t even alone, two other pack warriors stood with us.
“Found it!” I yelled and pushed it out through the window towards the light.
My Lycan sprang into action, it burnt out the fabricated memory and raised the original in its place.
Heat surged through me, I had overstayed my welcome in this place. The door drew open and my Lycan walked through.
It took so long, now is your turn Seraphine, your silence was defeat .
I was thrown back into consciousness.
I opened my eyes to see Damian clutching his head. He wore a grave expression. The atmosphere of Blackhood mansion had changed back.
“I never slept with Luna.” Kael said again.
The clueless Beta has no idea what was happening to them.
“Who said you did?” Damian questioned, still clutching his head.
Everyone exchanged confused glances but I know better.
I stood there in silence, staring at Damian, he appeared confused, battling internal turmoil. I would have hugged him, I would have told him it is alright but i couldn’t.
Fresh bitterness surged in my heart, my pups had died because their father intentionally decided not to protect them, he believed a lie above our hearts.I really want to tear Damian into shreds.
Damian walked towards me, he had a look in his eyes, he held out his hand to touch me, I pushed it aside.
“Argh!” Selena yelled, clutching her stomach.
Damian didn’t look at her, his eyes were on me.
“Please Seraphine, forgive me.”
My mother rushed over to Selena, she worriedly asked if she was okay. Selena didn’t respond, she eyed me maliciously.
“I don’t know what came over me Seraphine, I…I didn’t…I have been so cruel to you, I am sorry.”
“You believed a lie, you acted on it, I lost everything I own because you believed a lie Damian.”
Kael walked towards the door, he was about to leave the room when Damian held him back. Tension rose between them. Damian released his cloth and whispered to him.
“I order you to find whoever is capable of memory altering.”
“There is only one known person with such power in the pack Alpha Damian.” Kael responded, clearly eager to clear his name too.
“That won’t be necessary Damian, the window for closure is closed, all you need to do is to let go of me.” I said.
“Please Seraphine.” He urged, “I can’t lose you.”
He took two steps towards me, our faces only inches apart, my eyes burrowed into his, all affections dried off.
“Since you refused to let go, you leave me no choice Damian.”
He nodded in agreement,
He had no idea what.
I turned around and made it to the doorway. Kael watched me approach, he laid his body flat against the door but I approached him anyways.
I smiled and drew my hand along his neatly trimmed beard.
“The lie that destro
yed my world started with you, I lost everything that mattered.”
“Luna.” He whispered.
“By the power vested in me by the moon goddess, I propose. Kael, Beta of Ravencrest pack as my second mate, would you do the honor to accept this gift?”
