Chapter 6 Chapter 6
Leni's POV
I don't know what gave me the idea that I could drag an uncooperative, fully-conscious, six-foot-four hunk of a man out my front door… Obviously I expected my efforts to end in fiasco. What I didn't foresee though is being rolled onto my back and pinned against the wall, bottomless obsidian orbs staring into my green ones with a heat so primal I can almost hold it.
For a moment I can't even think.
My body is sending a lot of confusing signals right now and my reasoning faculties have turned themselves off. It's why even though I know proximity like this is dangerous for me I really can't bring myself to push this complete stranger away.
At least my lips know how to work even though my brain has long gone offline. “What do you think you're doing?" I ask, my voice nearly betraying me with the way it grows hoarse.
The guy? He looks like he's actually faring much better than I am. He has the calmest look on his face as one of his hands tightens around my neck and the other goes to my waist, pulling me closer to himself. "What does it look like I am doing? I’m giving you a fucking baptism.”
The sarcasm only makes me angrier than I was before. Soon enough I'm pushing against his chest for him to give me space but he only draws closer, finger stroking the arch of my neck. “Let me scar you,” he pleads.
I think the fuck not. “You have ten seconds to leave my house."
“Drive me.”
"One.”
"Two,” he breathes, tilting my chin upward so my face starts just where his ends, angled under his own.
I blink back at him, both pissed off and turned on by the audacity. "Three,” I snap. "I'm not even joking.”
“I know you're not.” He runs his index finger along my collar bone, a wicked glint in his eyes. “Four, five, six, seven.”
Furious, I raise my right elbow to stab into his chest but he blocks it with his palm. “Eight.”
My knee goes up.
“Nine," he says, pushing it back.
I throw my weight into him but he flips me belly to the wall, with my ass digging into his groin.
“Ten,” he whispers. "I guess you're out of time now.”
I first feel the heat slice through me before the touch even establishes itself. One of his hands holds me in place and the other stays in the space between the wallpaper and my crotch, its mere presence weaving something truly insidious along my nerve endings.
“Let me taste you,” he growls.
That is definitely an odd way to demand a kiss, I think to myself. Regardless, the answer is no and I make sure to tell him. "Leave me the fuck alone.”
“I can make you feel really good." He's nuzzling my neck now and for a moment I want to let him– this complete stranger– into my private space… I want him in my mouth.
I can't believe I'm considering it.
"LET. ME.” If I didn't know better I would think the voice was coming from my head.
Still a little disoriented, I'm about to speak– disagree emphatically– when a foreign noise interrupts, prompting me and my not-so-invited guest to look…. and see a woman clearing her throat loudly as she climbs up my porch.
"A good evening to you too, Mila,” I say dryly, rolling my eyes.
My older sister is near enough now for me to properly make out her features. “That your boyfriend?”
In response I step away from the man in question like I was struck with a live wire. “I don't even know him.”
Mila’s hand moves from the overnight bag slung across her chest to rest at her waist. "Making out with strangers in the middle of the forest, are we? Good for you.”
Shit. "We weren't– I didn’t– It's not– what are you doing here, Mila?"
She shrugs. “Why? Am I not welcome?”
I roll my eyes. No way is she using emotional blackmail on me. "How did you find me?”
"It's my job to know where my little sis is at all times. It's all part of the big sister package.” She enters the living room, eyeing the guy as she does so. "Do you mind introducing yourself?”
"He was just about leaving," I state before my visitor gets a chance to speak.
"That's a pretty long name if you ask me,” Mila observes.
“Draco." But the guy is looking straight at me. “I didn't catch yours."
Because you were so busy trying to ram your tongue down my throat, I want to answer. “Leni. Will you leave now?"
He looks at his phone. "Yes, apparently my ride is here.”
I'm about to ask him what on earth he's talking about when I start to hear the sound of chopper blades whirring overhead.
I can't fucking believe it…
I even have to step outside to confirm it myself. Lo and behold a helicopter is indeed hovering over my house.
Beside me my ‘guest’ looks unimpressed. "Took you long enough, Nero."
“I'm so sorry boss. Your line was out of service for the last few hours,” comes the voice from his phone.
"Fine. Drop the rope ladder…" Draco says, then hangs up. He leans into me and whispers: “I'll be back, Leni, and you had better be ready. We will finish what we started."
I give him a look. "Is that a fucking threat?”
He just smiles then heads outside.
