Chapter 1
Orlando, United States.
Burke Woolley stood at the top of Black Dragon Cliff, dressed entirely in black. His eyes gleamed coldly as he gazed down at entire Orlando.
“Ten years ago, your Salome family destroyed my entire family and sent me to hell. Now, I demand that your Salome family pay with their own blood for their crimes.” Burke Woolley said, his voice filled with murderous intent.
“Son of Saint, when shall we set off?” George Harry asked respectfully behind Burke Woolley, like an arrow nocked on the bow, ready to be shot at any moment.
“No need, I’ll go alone.”
“But I’m a little worried leaving you alone.”
“Do you really think they can stop me?” Burke Woolley said in a cold voice.
George Harry said nothing more, knowing that no one in all of America had the strength to challenge Burke Woolley.
“Then I’ll wait for you outside the city.”
“Good.” With a calm tone, Burke Woolley had already reached the foothills of the mountain. His speed was truly astonishing.
Ten years ago, the Woolley family was one of Orlando’s most prominent and wealthy families. The Salome family, desiring to gain access to the Woolley family’s wealth and influence, proposed a marriage alliance. They wanted to marry Salome’s eldest daughter to Harry Woolley, Burke Woolley’s brother. On the day of the engagement, the Woolley family planned to pass the family headship to Harry Woolley and hand over the family’s treasured artifact, the Elixir of Immortality, to him as well.
The Salome family, driven by greed for treasure, teamed up with four powerful families—the Moses family, the Keanan family, the Porter family, and the Peg family. They wiped out the entire Woolley family of twenty-six people in one night. The ten-year-old Burke Woolley was sent to the Hellish Furnace. Those who went there met a horrible death. But Burke Woolley survived, fueled by his desire for revenge. There, he was taught a supreme martial art by a wise master.
Burke Woolley spent ten years in the Hellish Furnace, where he was invincible. He single-handedly slaughtered ten thousand people and founded the most mysterious organization in the world: the Temple. All things in the world submitted to him, and he was called the Holy Son.
The revenge for the massacre ten years ago has come at last. Burke Woolley is back, and their time has come.
Burke Woolley entered the city, where people on the streets were hurrying along.
“The head of the Salome family is truly generous. Today, on their daughter’s wedding, anyone who comes to offer their congratulations gets a red envelope as a gift.” The two old men said cheerfully.
Burke Woolley suddenly stopped in his tracks and asked with murderous intent in his eyes, “Are you referring to Leo Salome as the head of the Salome family?”
“That’s right, young man. If you go now, you can even get a red envelope.”
Burke Woolley glanced disdainfully, his entire body radiating murderous intent. He said coldly, “Red envelopes? I’m going to kill people.”
“Killing people?”
“What nonsense is that for someone so young? If he can get into the Salome family, I’ll call him grandfather.”
While the two old men were still puzzled, Burke Woolley had already walked a few hundred meters away. He ordered three coffins from a coffin shop on the street corner, then headed decisively toward the Salome family’s residence.
Today, the Salome family has a full house of guests. Everyone who came to offer their congratulations did so out of respect for Leo Salome.
Rio Salome was dressed in formal attire, looking full of energy. Her dark eyes swept over those who had come to offer their congratulations. With a dignified manner, she said, “Today, my daughter gets married. Thank you all for taking the time to come to our humble home. If there were any shortcomings in our hospitality, I, Salome, will personally bring a small gift to apologize in person another day.”
As soon as the words were spoken, three loud noises came from the crowd. Everyone turned around in shock to see three coffins flying toward Io Salome, one after another.
Seeing this, Rio Salome quickly moved aside. The three coffins were neatly arranged in front of the Salome family members.
“Who dares to trouble the Salome family of mine, someone who doesn’t want to live?” Leo Salome roared.
The crowd felt a suffocatingly powerful aura approaching from behind them, so they instinctively made way for him. Burke Woolley walked slowly toward the center of the crowd, his gaze fixed intently on Leo Salome, who appeared puzzled.
“Lord Salome, do you like this generous gift of mine?” Burke Woolley stepped forward to a coffin and threw a powerful punch at it. The coffin flew straight toward Leo Salome. Leo tried to block it, but felt a sharp pain in his chest and his liver was damaged.
This person possesses extraordinary strength. It’s likely that no one present is his match.
“Who exactly are you? How dare you trouble the Salome family?”
“Ten years ago, you killed my entire family. Today, I’ll make you experience what it’s like to have your entire family wiped out.”
“Are you Burke Woolley?” Rio Salome asked in surprise.
“Choose one of these coffins.”
A wave of murmurs spread through the crowd. The Orlando Woolley family had been wiped out ten years ago. Only their second son was sent to Hell’s Furnace, where he remained for ten years. Who would have thought that now, he had returned unscathed, and even threatened to destroy the entire Salome family? All the guests present felt a chill of fear for the Salome family. This young man certainly had the strength to do so.
“Good boy. I didn’t expect you to survive Hell’s Forge,” Leo Salome said with a sneer.
“The blood debt of my Woolley family must be paid today.” Burke Woolley’s eyes gleamed with murderous intent. His fists were clenched, and a destructive aura surrounded him.
Rio Salome had just received a punch from Burke Woolley, which damaged her liver. She was unable to gather her energy for martial arts techniques. All she could do was clench her fists tightly, trying to remain calm.
“Burke Woolley, come here. Today, I’ll eliminate you, this last remnant of the Woolley family.”
A scornful smile appeared on Burke Woolley’s lips. Today, everyone in the Salome family was doomed.
Burke Woolley moved with incredible agility, like a ghostly figure charging straight at Leo Salome. The speed of his attack stunned everyone present. In the land of China, no one could match him.
Before Leo Salome could even react, Burke Woolley was already in front of him, his fist aimed straight at Leo’s face. The powerful punch caused Leo Salome’s facial muscles to twitch.
“Letting you die like this is too easy for you.”
“What do you want?” Leo Salome said, trembling with fear.
Before Burke Woolley could say anything, a young man rushed forward from the crowd, wielding a bladed axe with a menacing glint. He swung the axe down at Burke Woolley’s head. But Burke Woolley remained motionless. He channeled his energy internally, and a powerful surge of energy sent the young man flying three or four meters away.
“Barry Harry, step back. You’re no match for him,” Leo Salome snapped.
“Burke Woolley, go to hell!” Mark Salome frantically slashed at Burke Woolley. Burke Woolley remained calm, deflecting the blows with his fingers. Then, with a sudden forceful motion, Burke Woolley made Mark Salome’s hand go numb. The sword fell to the ground. Burke Woolley picked it up without missing a beat, and then swung at Mark Salome’s arm.
With a scream, an arm flew straight in front of Leo Salome, its fingers still twitching in pain.
“Don’t!” Leo Salome cried out in pain.
“Ten years ago, I said the same to you. Did it help?” Burke Woolley said coldly.
Another sharp flash of light ensued. Mark Salome’s limbs were neatly severed and thrown in front of Leo Salome. Burke Woolley threw a palm strike to open the lid of a coffin, then kicked the barely alive Mark Salome into the coffin.
A crisp sound of brain matter splattering came from within the coffin. Burke Woolley turned around and glared coldly at Leo Salome, whose face was as pale as death.
“My child…”
“It’s your turn.”
“You beast! I will avenge my son!” With blood-red eyes, Leo Salome grabbed two steel knives from behind and rushed at Burke Woolley.
Berk Woolley used his internal energy to control the sword with his palms. Leo Salome was already injured, and gradually lost his strength. Berk Woolley took the sword from him. With a quick turn, the cold blade sliced across Leo Salome’s wrist, severing one of his hands.
Leo Salome knelt on the ground, screaming in pain. Burke Woolley held a knife to his neck and said coldly, “I won’t kill you for now. Just return what belongs to the Woolley family.”
Rio Salome certainly knew that what Burke Woolley was referring to was the Immortal Jade. But there was no way she would give it back to Burke Woolley.
"No."
“Seeking death!” Burke Woolley struck Leo Salome three times in the chest, severing his vital organs. Leo Salome flew straight toward his daughter, Ansel Salome.
“Dad, how are you?” Ansel Salome asked anxiously.
“Who are you? On the day of my wedding, you killed my brother and wounded my father. Today, I’ll fight you to the death.”
Berk Woolley didn’t even look at her properly. He simply stood there and used the Illusory Yin Finger, powered by his Hunyuan True Energy, to strike Ansel Salome at her point. Ansel Salome immediately collapsed to the ground, convulsing violently.
“Whoever dares to hurt my wife will pay with their life.”
Ansel Salome’s fiancé, Jason Moses, is the second son of the Moses family, a prominent family in Orlando. William Moses, the head of the Moses family, is preparing to pass on the family leadership to him.
Jason Moses rushed toward Burke Woolley, unleashing a pair of powerful punches. Burke Woolley kicked him to the ground. But with Burke Woolley’s strength, that kick was enough to shatter Jason Moses’s liver. He had no chance of survival.
Burke Woolley snorted coldly, raised his knife, and Jason Moses’s head rolled to the side.
Ansel Salome stared at her fiancé’s head in shock. The happiness of her entire life had been ruined by Burke Woolley. She hated Burke Woolley with every fiber of her being. Fury burned in her eyes like a dragon ready to devour him. But trapped by the Illusionary Finger spell, she couldn’t move. All she could do was watch as Burke Woolley violently threw her beloved man into the coffin.
“Rio Salome, are you going to give me the item or not?” Burke Woolley asked, pronouncing each word clearly.
Leo Salome watched as her son-in-law’s head was trampled under Burke Woolley’s feet. Realizing that the Salome family’s fate was sealed, she could only hope that Burke Woolley would spare her daughter’s life.
“The things… I can give them to you. But, please don’t kill my daughter…” Leo Salome said with difficulty.
“She’s been struck by my Illusory Yin Finger. What difference does it make to her whether she lives or dies?”
“What… Phantom Yin Finger!” Leo Salome exclaimed in horror.
