Chapter 2
“I suppose you know that once someone is struck by the Illusory Yin Finger, their appearance ages rapidly. I want her to suffer more than death itself.” Burke Woolley sneered.
“You’re so vicious.”
“Thanks to you!”
In order to save her daughter’s life, Rio Salome returned the Elixir of Immortality to Burke Woolley. But Burke Woolley didn’t give her any chance to survive. He struck Rio Salome on the back of the head with one palm strike. Her head shattered instantly, like a rotten watermelon.
Ten years ago, when the Salome family destroyed the Woolley family, their methods were far more cruel than Burke Woolley’s. Thankfully, Burke Woolley made sure they died a painful death as well.
Buck Woolley kicked Leo Salome’s body into the coffin. The Salome family’s celebration hall was now turned into a mourning hall.
“Dad…” Ansel Salome’s desperate cries sounded exactly like Burke Woolley’s ten years earlier.
Ansel Salome struggled to get up to Burke Woolley. Her eyes were blood-red as she stared at him. The fury in her eyes resembled fiery snakes hissing menacingly.
“I’ll spare your life, so you can come and seek revenge from me later,” Burke Woolley said coldly, as if he were talking to a dead person.
“Burke Woolley, today you’ve destroyed my entire family. If I don’t kill you, I refuse to be called a human.” Ansel Salome said through gritted teeth.
“You can talk about surviving later. I’ll be waiting for you anytime.”
Burke Woolley’s calm tone concealed the confidence that came from his strength. Behind the title of “Saintly Son”, countless souls wandered around.
Burke Woolley, holding the Jade of Immortality, approached the three coffins. Using the power of his vital energy, he caused the lids of all three coffins to close simultaneously.
Those who came to offer their congratulations witnessed the downfall of the Salome family with their own eyes. No one dared to provoke Burke Woolley anymore. They rushed to distance themselves from the Salome family and left the family’s compound. Ansel Salome looked at the now desolate and bloody ruins of her family, feeling a sense of helplessness.
Who can help her? Who is even capable of helping her?
Ansel Salome struggled to get up. Pale and heartbroken, she walked over to the three coffins, knelt down, and kowtowed nine times.
“Father, brother, Jason, even if I’m doomed to never recover, I will surely avenge you all. I’ll make Burke Woolley pay for his crimes.”
Ansel Salome stood up and looked up at the sky, where the setting sun was blood-red.
The news that Burke Woolley had beheaded Moses’s second son reached William Moses immediately. William Moses was furious. He immediately ordered three thousand guards to set out and kill Burke Woolley, avenging Jason Moses.
Burke Woolley destroyed the Salome family. Just as he was about to leave the city to carry out the task entrusted to him by his master, he reached the city gates of the Holy City. There, he found that the entire city was completely surrounded by Moses’ family’s three thousand guards.
Burke Woolley scanned the crowd calmly, his gaze carrying a coldness befitting someone who’s accustomed to killing thousands.
Such a regal aura was beyond what mere guards could ever experience. As Burke Woolley approached, they all retreated several steps, terrified by his formidable presence.
The sound of horse hooves was like thunder. The three thousand guards automatically made way for him. William Moses, the head of the Moses family, rode a thoroughbred horse and slowly made his way to the center of the street.
“Burke Woolley, you killed my son. Today, I’ll make sure you’re destroyed beyond recognition.” William Moses cursed viciously.
A murderous glint flashed in Burke Woolley’s eyes. Ten years ago, when the Woolley family was wiped out, William Moses was involved as well. Burke had planned to settle accounts with him later. But now that William Moses had come to him, it would be simpler to kill him right there and then.
“William Moses, do you really think you and your worthless bunch of scum can kill me?” Burke Woolley said with disdain.
“I don’t care what powers you possess. I will use your blood to sacrifice to my son.”
“Kill!” At William Moses’s command, three thousand guards rushed forward like arrows from a bow, all heading straight for Burke Woolley.
Berk Woolley once fought in the Hellish Furnace, achieving feats of killing tens of thousands of enemies. In his eyes, those wretched people were nothing more than dust—a mere wave of his hand would be enough to scatter them.
Wherever Burke Woolley’s fists and feet struck, screams of pain filled the air. In moments, blood flowed like rivers, accompanied by the crisp sounds of bones breaking. White bones pierced the skin everywhere. Burke Woolley picked up a knife from the ground. With each swing of the knife, his body and hands became covered in blood. Of the three thousand guards, only five remained, completely terrified.
Burke Woolley was like a reaper of lives. Wherever he went, corpses lay everywhere.
“Go on, what are you standing around for? Damn it, get moving already!” William Moses shouted frantically.
The five guards took a timid step forward. Burke Woolley swung his sword, and with a flash of light, the upper and lower halves of each guard were separated.
Five guards fell to the ground instantly. William Moses couldn’t believe that his three thousand guards had been reduced to three thousand corpses in just a moment.
“Get off your horse and die!” Burke Woolley shouted harshly.
William Moses, furious beyond measure, drew his dragon-patterned axe from his saddle. With murderous intent, he charged at Burke Woolley. As the head of a noble family of guards, Burke was naturally highly skilled in combat. No one could withstand William Moses’s dragon-patterned axe for more than three strikes. Yet, against Burke Woolley, William Moses found it extremely difficult to wield his axe effectively.
As Burke Woolley moved swiftly and nimbly, he was more than capable of blocking William Moses’s dragon-patterned axe. In terms of sheer strength, Burke Woolley was young and strong, while William Moses was old and weak. The difference between them was obvious.
Burke Woolley suddenly swung his axe, severing William Moses’s hand that held the axe. Remembering the tragic fate of the Woolley family, he was filled with murderous intent and raised his axe to strike William Moses at the neck.
William Moses also closed his eyes, accepting death’s decree.
But just as Burke Woolley was about to strike, a strange flute sound came from the sky. As the sound grew louder, the three thousand guards who had seemingly died stood up again. Like puppets controlled by someone else, they attacked Burke Woolley without any trace of humanity. These people felt no pain at all. Even if their heads were smashed, they showed no reaction whatsoever.
“Surely, this is heaven’s help to me.” William Moses, as if he had grabbed a lifeline, quickly fled the scene.
Although Burke Woolley was incredibly brave, his physical strength was ultimately limited. If he continued to fight against those three thousand half-human, half-monster creatures like this, he would eventually be overwhelmed.
Just as Burke Woolley grew increasingly exhausted, the gates of the Holy City were breached. George Harry led three thousand soldiers bearing holy banners into the city.
“Holy Son, are you alright?”
“I’m fine. Let’s first deal with this mess.” Burke Woolley said, leading three thousand Holy Flags in a desperate battle against three thousand zombies. The three thousand slain guards could only be completely defeated by crushing their heads.
“Son, these things are difficult to fight with. Continuing like this isn’t a good solution,” George Harry reminded from the side.
Burke Woolley and George Harry exchanged a glance, and they immediately understood each other.
“Three thousand sacred flags, heed my command: retreat!” George Harry shouted.
Facing the relentless attacks of the immortal army, and with that annoying flute sound continuing unabated, Burke Woolley knew that someone was meddling. He immediately used a forbidden technique that his master had repeatedly warned him about: the God-Killing Sacrifice. This technique had the power to destroy the heavens and earth, but it would also cost Burke most of his own cultivation energy.
“Ah!” Burke Woolley roared in anger. He spread his arms wide and struck the sky violently. In an instant, two giant dragons flew out from behind him, charging straight at those undead creatures.
In an instant, it was reduced to ashes!
The flute music in the sky ceased abruptly, and the city of saints was replaced by dead silence and carnage.
“Holy Son, what’s with this flute music?”
“I don’t know. Those who dare to use underhanded tactics behind others aren’t likely to be trustworthy.” As Burke Woolley spoke, he had already reached the outskirts of the Holy City. Three thousand holy banners followed behind him. With the power of the Holy Son, he could look down upon the whole world.
“A noble family of guards, completely destroyed by Burke Woolley like that… How pitiful.” A young man in black stood in front of William Moses, speaking in a sarcastic tone.
“Who are you, and why did you save me?” William Moses asked carefully.
“Who I am isn’t your concern. I can help you.”
“Help me?”
“Your son was killed by Burke Woolley, and your home was destroyed by him. Don’t you want to take revenge?”
“If I don’t kill Burke Woolley, I refuse to be human. What do you want me to do?”
A sinister smile appeared on the lips of the young man in black, marking the beginning of a devastating conspiracy.
In Orlando, at Black Dragon Cliff, Burke Woolley, dressed entirely in black, knelt in front of the tombstones of the twenty-six members of the Woolley family. He kowtowed nine times. Then, in a calm voice, he said, “Father, mother, elder brother, Burke Woolley has avenged you. I personally destroyed the entire Salome family, ensuring that the Salome girls also suffered the loss of their loved ones.”
When moved to tears, the war god, who had once killed countless people, actually shed tears.
“Holy Son, now that our great vengeance has been fulfilled, when shall we return to the Holy Temple?”
“I won’t go back for now. You may handle all matters related to the temple on my behalf.”
“Why?” George Harry asked, puzzled.
“Do I also need to report to you about everything I do?”
“I dare not.”
Burke Woolley’s voice turned icy, startling George Harry into silence.
Burke Woolley stood up and descended from Black Dragon Cliff. The desolate wind howled wildly, just like the Saint Son himself—arrogant and unrestrained.
After Berk Woolley was initiated by his master and taught his ultimate martial arts skills, the master entrusted him with a mission: after avenging his hatred, Berk was to go to the Demon Realm to find a woman named Marian White. He was to protect her for life and help her fulfill her dreams.
Burke Woolley held his teachers in great respect and always remembered their words.
After George Harry led three thousand Holy Flags back to the Temple, Burke Woolley went alone to the Demon Realm. The Demon Realm was far more complex than Orlando, with various conflicting forces intertwined. It would be extremely difficult for a weak woman to survive in such an environment.
By the time Burke Woolley arrived in the Demon Realm, it was already midnight. As soon as he got off the car, he saw three neon characters shining in the distance: Norfolk Nightclub.
