Chapter 1 THE NIGHT EVERYTHING CHANGED

“You are nothing here, you are just a slave and the more you accept that, the better for you. You will serve me, give me everything I want even if it is your life. You won't even hesitate. You have nothing here. I own you now, every part of you,” Alpha Damian said to me, his voice sending shivers down my spine.

I gulped as tears escaped my eyes. How did things get this bad? I couldn't understand. A day ago, things were different. I was at the Crescent Moon Palace with my parents celebrating my eighteenth birthday. It was supposed to be the first day of my life with important guests present, but everything changed.

Before I could make my wish to the Moon Goddess, a dagger went straight past my face and into my father's chest. My eyes widened in shock as I took in my father in a pool of his own blood. Another one hit my mum right in the chest too.

“Mother, Father,” I called, unable to contain my grief.

I tried to run toward them, but a guard grabbed my hand immediately.

“Your Highness, we have to get you to a safe place,” he said, and another one joined him. They both dragged me away.

I kept reaching toward my parents. Around me, there was a lot of war going on among the royal guards and some strange pack, and our guards were falling one after the other.

Immediately we got outside, we quickly went back inside and hid because a lot of this army were present. I was shivering where I sat because I didn't know what was going on. Everything still felt like a dream to me. I couldn't believe my parents were gone just like that.

I started crying silently, but the guard told me to stop, but I couldn't.

Suddenly, a figure appeared in front of us. He looked so dangerous that I felt so much fear when he looked toward me. The two guards with me tried to fight him, but he was just so strong, and soon they were on the ground, dead.

I tried to run, but his army blocked me and forcefully pushed me to the ground. My head hit the hard floor, and it was as if I was seeing stars. I tried not to cry.

They dragged me roughly, taking me back to where my parents' cold bodies were. It was obvious they were dead now, and I couldn't help the tears that fell.

“I am going to ruin your daughter so much that she will wish she dies,” the man said, his voice sounding so dangerous.

He used his leg to match my father's dead body, and I folded my fists, unable to do anything about it, just to watch.

“Burn their bodies and get ready to leave,” he muttered and glanced at me, making me want to enter the ground before leaving.

“Where are you taking my parents to? Please stop,” I shouted and released myself, running to the men carrying my parents. My beautiful dress got stained with their blood, but I was careless.

“Where are you taking my mom to?” I asked but was shoved away roughly.

I felt a grip on my hair as I was dragged outside into a waiting cage which looked like where animals were kept. It was locked, and the horse started moving.

As we left, I saw the bodies of my parents being dumped on the ground and people stoning them. My heart burned deeply as I was being taken to where I didn't know.

As I was being led away, some angry mob of people started trying to stone me too.

Shouting that I should be dead, that I deserve to follow my parents, made me wonder what me and my family did to make us suffer this much.

Luckily, the cage didn't allow the big stones to enter, but the small ones did and caused minor injuries to my face. I started bleeding, but it was nothing compared to what I was feeling in my chest.

I stared at the man sitting on a moving horse in front of me, his back turned to me. He was the one that did all this to my parents, and I made up my mind to make him pay for what he did to my family.

We continued going through the forest and didn't even stop to have a break. I was grief-stricken, hungry, and thirsty, but I couldn't tell anyone because they all looked like they disliked me.

We continued till the next day, and it was the bright light that woke me up. They all sat around a fire eating a game they might have killed when I was asleep. I watched them eat, salivating. I heard the grumbling sound of my own belly, but it was as if I didn't exist to them because none of them even offered me anything.

After resting, the journey continued until the evening when I finally sighted a huge wall. I was a little relieved as they entered the wall. I couldn't see anything because it was late already.

“Everybody go and rest now and lock her in the dungeon,” I heard the voice of the leader before he left.

I was roughly dragged out of the cage and led into a narrow path. They weren't showing mercy to me. They didn't even care if I was weak. I hit my leg on a stone and yelped in pain, but they didn't care.

Finally, I was dragged into a room that was dark, so dark that I couldn't see a thing. Then they locked me there without any second thought and left immediately.

My tears flowed as I remained on the floor, wrapping my arms around my knees.

Just yesterday morning, everything was perfect. I woke up with happiness because it was my eighteenth birthday with my parents, with their usual beautiful smiles. But here I am, locked up in a dungeon with absolutely no one to help me and in an entirely unknown place.
