Chapter 4: Stupid Bad Man

Hearing Ethan describe her as "relentless and unreasonable," Victoria almost laughed coldly in her heart.

Was Ethan blind or crazy? Sarah was the one who threw documents in someone's face—how did it become her fault instead?

How blind must she have been before to lose all her boundaries and sense of self under Ethan's constant emotional abuse?

Now that she'd seen Ethan's true colors, Victoria decided she wouldn't put up with them anymore.

She met Ethan's gaze and mocked coldly, "Ethan, are you blind?"

This merciless question left Ethan stunned on the spot. He never imagined that Victoria, who had always treated him like a god and carefully tried to please him, would dare call him blind in public.

"Sarah was the one who threw documents in Aria's face! That behavior is an insult to an employee's dignity. I asked her to apologize—what's wrong with that?" Victoria's words rang out clearly. "She was clearly in the wrong first, so how does that make me relentless?"

Standing nearby, Aria felt both touched and worried seeing Victoria confront Ethan head-on for her sake. She tugged at Victoria's sleeve and said softly, "Victoria, forget it. It's not worth getting into a fight with Ethan over me."

Hearing this, Victoria felt a pang of bitterness and guilt. It was one thing for her to have been blinded by love, but how could she drag Aria into suffering too?

She patted Aria's hand reassuringly, then turned her head, her gaze locked firmly on Sarah. "Apologize! If Sarah doesn't apologize today, I'll slap her right now!"

As Victoria's tone intensified, Ethan's expression darkened to the extreme.

He narrowed his long eyes dangerously and spat out with utter disdain, "You dare?"

Victoria snorted lightly, too lazy to waste words. She rolled up her sleeves and charged straight at Sarah without another word, raising her hand to strike!

Sarah turned pale with fright and immediately played up her fake, affected nature, screaming as she hid behind Ethan.

Ethan's tall frame stood like a wall, firmly separating the two. His eyes toward Victoria were full of warning and anger.

Seeing Victoria was serious, Sarah, hiding behind Ethan, covered her face and started crying.

"Victoria, you'd actually hit me in public over an outsider? When did you become so vicious?"

"You're Ethan's future wife. Making a scene in front of all these people—do you have any dignity left? How can Ethan tolerate a shrew like you?"

At this point, she changed her tone, looking at Aria with feigned grievance. "It's my fault too. I shouldn't have made Victoria angry. I'm sorry, Aria. You're Victoria's friend, so even if you made a huge mistake at work, I should have been understanding. I shouldn't have been so strict with you."

In just a few words, she not only erased her own wrongdoing but also painted Victoria as a shrew who put personal feelings above everything else.

Victoria and Aria had thoroughly witnessed Sarah's talent for twisting the truth.

After this perfunctory apology, Sarah continued hiding behind Ethan, acting as if she were the victim who'd suffered the greatest injustice. Ethan fell for it completely, turning around helplessly to pat her back soothingly.

After comforting Sarah, Ethan directed his full fury at Victoria. "Victoria, you're getting more and more out of line! Sarah is your sister—how can you push her like this? I thought you were a reasonable woman, but I never expected you to be so impossible!"

The current Victoria was covered in thorns—whoever dared to prick her, she would prick right back.

She laughed coldly and said bluntly, "Yes, I'm unreasonable. But Ethan, Sarah, I'm telling you both right now—if anyone dares to bully me or my friends again, don't blame me for being ruthless!"

With that, Victoria didn't spare another glance at that pair of scumbags and headed straight to the restaurant on the hotel's top floor, pulling Aria along.

After finding seats, Aria couldn't help but applaud Victoria. "Victoria, you were so cool just now! I thought Ethan was going to tear us apart today. But Sarah is really disgusting. If it weren't for the paycheck, I'd really want to slap those two scumbags to death!"

Victoria held Aria's hand apologetically. "I'm sorry, Aria. I was too stupid before and let you suffer a lot at the Ashford Group. It won't happen again. From now on, if they dare bully you, fight back hard. Don't worry about me."

Aria nodded, touched, then asked carefully, "So what are you going to do about you and Ethan? Sarah is openly seducing him—are you still going to stay with him?"

Victoria shook her head firmly. "No way. I'm breaking up with him. A scumbag like him doesn't deserve me at all."

As soon as the words left her mouth, a sharp voice suddenly cut in from the side.

"Victoria, you're really something!"

Sarah, who had been crying downstairs just moments ago, had followed them up like a ghost. Hearing Victoria talk about breaking up, she was thrilled inside, but hearing the word "scumbag" grated on her. That was the man she'd schemed so hard to steal!

Sarah crossed her arms, her face full of mockery. "You have the nerve to call Ethan a scumbag? Everyone in Silverstone City knows you're the most pathetic lapdog by his side! What, playing hard to get now? With your looks, do you think you're good enough for Ethan?"

She kept calling him "Ethan" so naturally, completely oblivious to the fact that she was the homewrecker.

Victoria had put up with her for long enough. Since she didn't want that piece of trash Ethan anymore, she definitely wouldn't allow this mad dog Sarah to ruin her gathering with Aria.

While Sarah was still gloating, Victoria suddenly stood up.

Before Sarah could finish speaking, Victoria delivered a resounding slap right across her face!
