Chapter 3

So Ulrica never truly intended to marry Sherry—he only wanted her ruined.

Before the words could fade, the screen flickered and shifted—

Sherry’s movements grew bolder, her voice dripping with seduction.

Behind her, male wolves lined up, their gazes hungry and vicious.

“Damn! That sound could drive a wolf insane!”

“She’s insatiable! With that many—can she even take it?”

The hall filled with whispers, foul and lewd, venomous in their delight.

Ulrica’s face darkened, his aura crashing over the crowd.

“Enough! Shut it off. Now!”

Sandra stiffened, then quickly donned a pitiful mask.

“Ulrica, can’t you see? With a life so filthy—sneaking around with who knows how many wolves—how can you still defend her?”

Ulrica cast me a glance, his gaze frigid, and spat a single word:

“Dirty.”

Sandra’s lips curved into a victorious sneer.

Rage roared in my chest, so hot it could have burned the hall to ash.

All my adult years, I’d locked myself away to suppress this cursed bloodline.

And the world forgot—the Pine Pack still had a princess they once called the Blood-Soaked Monster.

Slowly, my lips twisted into a smile sharp as ice.

I snapped my hand back, seizing the Warrior’s wrist pressed to my neck—

A brutal twist—

Crack!

His scream split the air as he staggered back, clutching his mangled arm.

I spun with the momentum, caught the banquet table, and hurled it straight at the giant screen.

Glass shattered, sparks and shards raining down as Sherry’s image vanished into black.

Screams erupted. The crowd scattered, retreating like a crashing tide.

And I—step by step—stalked forward, my eyes locked on Ulrica and Sandra.

What had they truly done to Sherry?

Sandra smirked, still blind to the beast she had provoked.

Her voice dripped scorn as I advanced:

“Selena, madness won’t save you. You’re already disgraced. Ulrica has summoned the Elders. Once Sherry is avenged, you’ll be sent into Soul Confinement.”

I didn’t hesitate. My palm whipped across her face—

Smack!

The sharp crack echoed through the hall. Sandra’s head snapped to the side, her cheek swelling red.

She clutched her face, eyes wide with disbelief.

“You dare strike me?!”

Ulrica’s face darkened to storm. He lunged forward, seizing my wrist.

“Selena! Enough!”

I twisted free with ease, fire blazing in my chest.

Looking at that hypocritical face, I raised my hand again—

and delivered a second slap, harder, across his cheek.

“Well struck!” Wendy howled in triumph inside me.

Ulrica froze, stunned, crimson handprint seared across his jaw.

His eyes ignited with fury.

“Selena, I’ve given you more than enough grace! Is this the Pine Pack’s bloodline? Such disgraceful breeding!”

He scoffed, venom dripping from every word.

“Of course. With parents stripped of their titles under Elder trial, what kind of offspring could they raise?”

His words struck like knives. Shock and fury collided in my chest.

So much had happened at home—yet no one told me.

My hand darted to my pocket—only to remember. I’d been dragged here with nothing.

I swept my gaze across the guests, my eyes blades of frost.

This went deeper than a ceremony.

I turned toward the grand doors—

Only to meet locked gates, wards humming thick and suffocating as stone walls.

Even my wolf soul could not pierce them.

Cold dread twisted with searing rage. My blood boiled like molten rock, burning through my veins.

I closed my eyes, drew a breath. Inside, my wolf surged, desperate to break free.

Tonight, they would learn.

They would all learn the true power of the Pine Pack.
