Chapter 1 The Betrayal

Zara's pov

“Oh yes… right there, Daniel! Don’t stop!”

I froze right outside the bedroom door, which was cracked open just enough for me to see everything.

My stomach suddenly dropped violently.

The sound of skin slapping skin echoed enough for me to hear , mixed with the rhythmic banging of the headboard against the wall. A woman’s breathy cries grew louder, and more desperate.

“No… this can’t be happening,” I whispered, even as my trembling hand pushed the door open a little wider.

And there he was, my boyfriend, Daniel, completely naked, muscles flexing as he thrust hard and deep into a woman I didn’t recognize. Her legs were wrapped tightly around his waist, her back arched in pleasure as she moaned shamelessly.

“Yeesss… harder… fuck me harder!”

I felt the exact moment my heart shattered.

“Da…. Daniel?” My voice cracked, barely audible over their heavy breathing.

They both suddenly froze.

Daniel’s head snapped toward me, eyes wide with shock. He quickly pulled out of her with a wet sound, his cock still rock-hard, thick, and glistening with her arousal. It swung heavily as he scrambled off the bed.

“Zara…” he breathed, panic flashing across his face.

The woman didn’t even bother covering herself. She stayed sprawled on the sheets, legs still shamelessly spread, her pussy visibly wet and swollen. She simply stared at me with mild annoyance, as if I was the one interrupting something interesting.

“What the fuck is this, Daniel?” My voice rose, trembling with rage and pain.

“Today is our anniversary!”

Daniel fumbled with his pants, his still-hard dick making it difficult to pull them up quickly.

“Zara, baby… it’s not what it looks like. This was a mistake.. ”

“A mistake?” I shouted, tears burning my eyes.

“You were balls-deep inside her, thrusting like you couldn’t get enough! Did that look like a fucking mistake to you?”

The woman smirked, lazily pulling the sheet over her breasts but leaving her thighs exposed.

“Calm down, sweetie,You clearly couldn’t give him what he needed and I just gave him what you couldn’t.”

Her words hit like a slap, almost making my knees nearly buckle .

Daniel rushed toward me, reaching for my arm.

“Zee, please… I was drunk, okay? She came to me,I wasn’t thinking straight. I’m so sorry..”

My hand moved before I could think. The sharp crack of the slap echoed through the room. He suddenly clutched his reddening cheek, looking stunned.

“You were drunk?” I laughed bitterly through my tears.

“You were fucking her like you loved every second of it. I saw the way you were pounding into her, don’t you dare lie to me, Danile!”

Tears streamed down my face as I stared at him in disgust. The man I had imagined spending the rest of my life with was standing there with another woman’s juices still coating his cock.

“You’re disgusting,” I whispered, voice breaking.

“Don’t you ever contact me again.”

I took one last look at the woman still smirking on his bed, then turned and stormed out, slamming the door behind me. Daniel’s desperate shouts followed me down the hallway, but I didn’t stop.

The pain in my chest was suffocating. Every breath hurts. Blinded by tears, I pulled out my phone and booked a ride to the nearest club.

I sent a quick text to my best friend, Talia

I’m heading to the club. Join me if you want

She replied with a laughing emoji. I didn’t have the heart to tell her what had just happened.

When the cab arrived, I slid into the back seat on shaky legs, still wearing the slinky black dress meant for a romantic anniversary night.

The club was loud, pulsing with heavy bass and thick with the scent of perfume, sweat, and alcohol. I headed straight to the bar and ordered shots of tequila.

One.

Two.

Three.

The burn spread through my chest, and slowly, the sharp edges of my pain began to blur.

I turned my head slightly, and that was when I saw him.

He sat alone in the dimly lit corner of the bar, his presence was quiet dominance. His black shirt stretched perfectly across his broad, muscular chest, sleeves rolled up to reveal strong, veiny forearms.

He looked older, maybe twice my age, with salt-and-pepper hair and a presence that made my pulse race.

Our eyes suddenly locked.

Something dark and hungry flared in his gaze, then heat flooded my body instantly. I wanted those strong arms wrapped around me, I wanted to forget everything.

I bit my lower lip seductively and gave him a slow, inviting smile.

His lips curved into a small, dangerously sexy smirk, like he already knew exactly what I needed. He rose from his seat with confident, predatory grace and walked toward me, his hips moving with masculine swagger.

Then stopped right in front of me, towering over my frame. His deep voice, laced with a smooth Spanish accent, sent shivers down my spine.

“You look like you’ve had enough, Mi sol,” he murmured, eyes roaming over my body.

“Trust me,” I leaned forward, letting him see the heat in my eyes.

“I can handle more than just a drink.”

His gaze darkened with lust.

Then he gently tilted my chin up with two fingers, bringing my face closer to his. The warmth of his touch sent electricity straight between my thighs.

“I can make you forget whatever’s hurting you tonight, Mi sol.”

My breath hitched.

“Then make me…”

His thumb brushed slowly over my lower lip, pressing just enough to part it. His voice dropped even lower, rough with desire.

“Be careful what you ask for with this pretty mouth of yours.”

The way he said it, low, commanding, and full of filthy promise made my core throb.

I smirked, staring boldly into his eyes filled with raw hunger.

“I’m not in the mood to be careful tonight.”

He chuckled darkly, the sound vibrating through me.

Without warning, he grabbed my waist and pulled me flush against his hard body.

“Don’t say I didn’t warn you,” he growled, his breath hot against my ear.
