Chapter 3 Sold to the beast
Chapter 3.
Three weeks ago, Felipe and I met in our hideout, a place strictly meant for the VIPs. We had gone intimate without protection. He made promises as he went deeper inside of me, promising me the whole world, and a good mate and father, but today, he didn't only break me, he tore apart what was so sacred to me and ordered his guards to throw me out of his presence.
The man that had just broken our mate bond and humiliated me was the father of the tiny life in my belly. A male pup.
I wrapped the test result in my hand and paced towards his room. Though our bond has been broken, my pulse still quickened whenever his image swept past my thoughts. I hated the way I still felt for him even after the betrayal and humiliation.
“ You can't come in now. You have to wait for the Alpha.” One of the guards stood in the path that led to his room.
“ I need to see the Alpha now, it's urgent,” My voice was laced with anger, and pain.
But he insisted, folding his arms around his chest instinctively. “I wouldn't repeat myself anymore, Miss. The Alpha is busy and can't attend to any officials talk more of an Omega like you.”
My nose flared as his statement peeled the wound that had scathed in my heart. I didn't know when my knees went straight to his balls. He grunted and fell on the floor, clearing the path to his room.
But as I got to the front of his room, I froze as Felilpe's voice grew in lethality.
“ All I'm saying is that we need another breeder to replace Lynn immediately. Your womb is in a critical condition and I'm scared you are going to ever conceive.”
Then Sarah's silent sobs seeped out below that I had to be perfectly still to hear her.
“ I'm trying my best to revive my womb, Felipe. I'm sure by the time I take the vegetative doctor’s concoction the goddess will bless me with a male pup.” She spoke between gasps, more like offering prayers.
“ I can't condole another lowlife being a breeder to you for months and ending up giving you a female pup. Don't you know the goddess only blesses worthy a male pups?”
I cupped my mouth tighter as the revelation almost punched a gasp out of my mouth. Sarah had issues with her womb and that was why Felipe wanted me as a breeder? That was why he kept our bond until now? The thought made my shoulders slumped at both sides.
If Felipe found out I was now pregnant for him and it's a male pup, he might reconsider me even though we weren't mates anymore. Isn't it?
“ You're such an asshole!” The guards staggered in pain and grabbed a handful of my hair, yanking me away. But I grabbed his hands and sank my teeth into his skin until I tasted blood. He screamed, calling the attention of others.
Then Felipe and Sarah ran out of the room and caught me apprehended by the guards. His eyes flung to me in shock.
“ She was eavesdropping on your conversations!” The guards pressed and his eyes went bloodshot. Sarah's jaw tightened.
“ I swear to the Moon goddess I'll pluck out your eyes.”
But Felipe held her fists. I was trying to find myself out of the guards.
“ Felipe I need to tell you something very important, it's urgent!”
His eyes calmed, like he wanted to lend me some listening ears. Sarah, noticing his calm demeanor, poisoned his mind.
“ She disobeyed you, fought your guards, you shouldn't listen to her!”
Gritting his teeth, he spoke with so much aggression filled with emotions. “ Get her out of here and throw her into the cell until the day she and her daughter would be auctioned.”
The guards wore heavy metallic chains on my wrists and legs, the metal chopped on my skin but was nothing compared to the heavy pain in my heart.
They dragged me to the dark cell like a scrap, a reminder of how I was disregarded and amounted to nothing. I felt a cold syringe pierced into my skin and the last thing that came to my mind before I fainted was the realization that the pregnancy test had slipped away from me.
-----
It has been three days now. Three days in the cell. Three days of not being able to eat, or drink anything that was tossed at me.
The cell was dark, and quiet. The smell of rust and damp stone stung my nostrils like his voice stung my heart when he severed our bond. The only evidence I was still alive was the heartache that lingered in my heart, and the little light that flickered through a pinhole.
The cell door burst open.
Felipe was dressed in a black suit that fitted him. His red bowtie and wine shoes bristled under the sun. He dressed like a groom who couldn't wait to take his bride home and immediately instinct told me today was his union with Sarah.
“ Get up!” The voice that I had once respected the most, the voice that I had once begged now meant nothing to me.
I stayed where I was, relaxed and composed.
Then I felt his shadow stretched across me like a god staring down at his creature.
“ You and your daughter have been bought,” He spoke looking into my eye with filtered emotions. I frowned and looked away as though it meant nothing to me. Practically, it meant nothing. Nothing could be more than all the rigorous pain he had made me gone through.
I wanted to tell him about the male child in my belly but he had made his choice. He had auctioned me and my daughter out, there was no point telling him about it because it would have no use. Besides he would be getting married to the woman he left me for. Silence stretched between us infinitely before I responded quietly.
“ I know.”
Then I finally raised up my gaze to meet his and I saw the mixture of surprise and anger surging through him. His gazes remained unbroken as if he was searching for something he had lost— Tears, rage, pleas, anything— but I gave him nothing.
“ You don't care?” His voice became bolder and threatening.
I shrugged, tipping the corner of my lips upward. “ Does that matter?”
His hands slammed against the bars, the blaring sounds of metals and shackles echoing through the cell. His jaw tightened, and throbbing veins were visible in his neck.
“ Of course, it doesn't matt
er because you know what? You and your daughter have just been sold to the beast.”
