Chapter 3: The Mysterious Big Shot Can Heal Bianca

After drafting the agreement, Olivia returned to Bianca’s side. She waited for Michael to discuss the divorce, but he never came. She only heard his voice from the hallway, speaking on the phone with a tenderness she had never known. Then, his hurried footsteps faded away.

Olivia glanced at the bedroom. The divorce papers on the nightstand lay untouched.

He hadn't seen them. A wave of anxiety washed over her, and she fought the urge to call him and demand a resolution. But she held back. A divorce had to be handled in person. If he didn't see the papers tonight, he would see them tomorrow. She was resolved.

That night, Michael didn't return.

The next morning, Bianca seemed lethargic and withdrawn. Worried, Olivia immediately called Dr. Harper Anderson, Bianca’s psychologist, to schedule a check-up. Harper was a well-known specialist Michael had hired, boasting impressive credentials. Yet, despite months of treatment, Bianca’s condition had shown little improvement.

When Harper arrived, Olivia couldn't hold back her concern. "Dr. Anderson, you've been seeing Bianca for some time. Why isn't there any progress?"

Harper, who always carried an air of arrogance, bristled at the question. "Who’s the psychologist here, you or me?" she snapped. "Mr. Johnson hired me personally. What gives you the right to question my methods?"

Olivia was taken aback by the hostility but felt a surge of irritation herself. "I'm not challenging you," she replied sharply, "but as her mother, I have the right to ask why my daughter isn't getting better. Are you truly a professional?"

The question was a direct blow to Harper's pride. She rose abruptly, glaring at Olivia. "Ms. Smith, if you doubt my professionalism, find someone else. I’m done with this case! But mark my words, you will regret this."

With that, she stomped out.

Ten minutes later, just as Olivia expected, Michael called. His voice was icy with reproach. "Olivia, what did you do? Why did you drive Dr. Anderson away?"

The harshness in his tone was a familiar ache in her chest. "Her treatment wasn't working," she said, her voice cool. "I pointed it out, she couldn't handle it, and she left. How is that my fault?"

"Stop this foolishness," he retorted, refusing to listen. "Dr. Anderson is highly respected. You're the only one questioning her! Do you even care if Bianca recovers? Call her, apologize, and bring her back."

Olivia felt as if her heart was being pierced by needles. He showed no concern for Bianca, only for placating an outsider. How had she ever fallen for this man? It wasn't too late to see him for who he truly was.

She clenched her fists. "I will not apologize," she said, her voice firm. "I am Bianca’s mother, and it is my right to choose her doctor. If she refuses to return, all the better!"

She ended the call, refusing to listen to another word.

Afterward, she took Bianca to the special "kids' playground" on the estate. Olivia and Emily had built it together, a sanctuary designed just for Bianca, who preferred solitude. The toys and equipment were all thoughtfully chosen for her unique needs.

Watching Bianca lose herself in quiet play, Olivia’s resolve hardened. She could no longer allow Harper to waste precious time. She had to find a new psychologist for Bianca, and she had to do it now.

She went to the study, opened her laptop, and began researching top psychologists. But it wasn't simple. Bianca had been diagnosed with autism at one year old, and over the past two years, they had consulted countless doctors with little success.

As she searched fruitlessly, her friend Evelyn Thomas called to offer condolences for Emily's passing. "Olivia, you have to stay strong," Evelyn said gently. "Mrs. Johnson wouldn't want you to be consumed by sorrow."

Tears pricked Olivia’s eyes, but she held them back. "I know."

"By the way," Evelyn asked, "has there been any improvement in Bianca’s condition?"

"Not really," Olivia admitted, shaking her head. "That's why I'm so anxious. Do you know of any competent psychologists?"

Evelyn paused in thought. "Actually," she said after a moment, "I do know of someone."

Olivia’s spirits lifted. "Really? Can you connect me?"

"I'm sorry, I can't," Evelyn said quickly. "I've only heard of him. He’s said to be a genius. Powerful figures, even the military, have tried to recruit him, but he’s incredibly enigmatic and almost impossible to find. I have no idea how to reach him. But if anyone can help Bianca, it's him."

A spark of excitement cut through Olivia's worry. "Is he really that capable?" she asked, wary of another big name with no results, like Harper.

"Don't worry, this doctor is the real deal," Evelyn reassured her. "I'll tell you more about his cases later. For now, just try to relax. I'll help you look for him, and I'll let you know the second I find anything, okay?"

Olivia knew it wouldn't be easy. She had been hoping for a miracle since Bianca was one. She had already waited so long; a few more days wouldn't matter.
