Chapter 2
Gulp... gulp...
In this corner of the Lightless Sea, overflowing with despair, the frantic sound of swallowing echoed.
My high-dimensional blood, saturated with extreme negative energy and obsession, flowed from my torn stump and was greedily sucked down the belly of the dying [Calamity Night Owl].
This near-death Outer God juvenile, whose pale sparks were on the verge of fading forever, reacted like it had been doused with the highest-grade rocket fuel. It violently ignited into a blazing sphere of profound, dark-gold cold fire!
The System’s icy prompt exploded in my mind:
[Contract Established!]
[You have officially bound the Law Entity: Calamity Night Owl (Juvenile Stage).]
[Symbiotic feedback channel opened — Initiating Law-based power feedback!]
"Jiiii—!"
The young owl sharply opened its miniature eyes—dark and deep as black holes—and let out a high-pitched cry radiating ancient majesty. Then, it opened its tiny beak and spat a breath of absolute, pure pale cold flame, instantly engulfing my entire body.
There was no burning agony, only the violent, savage reconstruction of life!
Under the scouring of this high-dimensional power, my shattered bones unleashed completely deafening crackles as they brutally snapped back into place. My internal organs, previously rotting away from the F-Class trash rejection, rebuilt themselves instantly, doubling in durability. My left arm, severed at the root, didn't grow back its flesh, but the wound condensed into an almost tangible, rock-hard limb composed entirely of dark-golden high-dimensional flames.
The S-Class physical vitality that had been drained from me erupted like a volcano under the raw, primal might of the abyss—returning with interest!
On the other hand, the young owl underwent its own metamorphosis. Out of its bald spine, seven or eight dazzling black feathers composed of stardust violently sprouted.
Screech!!!
The very second man and bird completed their rebirth, over a hundred enraged Scavenger Fish had already crashed down on us. During their sprint, their slick, eyeless bodies rapidly distorted, turning into highly elusive "invisible energy constructs." They opened their unseen, jagged maws, aiming straight for my throat!
"Little thing, time to work." I felt the tyrannical power surging in my veins and grinned.
Perched on my shoulder, the young owl locked its black-hole-like eyes onto the void and unleashed its very first Law:
[Base Conceptual Law: Frame-Drop Erasure.]
Hum—
The invisible fish swarm lunging half a meter from my face seemed to crash into an invisible "swamp of time." Their space-tearing movements suffered from an absurd lag and frame drop. Their stealth camouflage instantly failed, exposing their fatal weak points.
A 0.5-second opening. For a normal F-Class trash, it only meant delaying the inevitable death. But for me—the former Supreme Commander of the Executive Division who had carved his way through mountains of corpses and seas of blood—it was more than enough time to massacre!
"DIE!!!"
Like a mad beast unleashed from its chains, I backhandedly gripped a floating, splintered bone from a dead star-beast in my right hand. My high-dimensional fiery left arm violently smashed the jaw off one monstrous fish, while the bone spike in my right hand ruthlessly pierced through its energy core!
Puchi!
Foul black liquid exploded everywhere. I didn't stop. In under a second, I executed five extreme directional shifts. Like a violent rainstorm, the bone spike punched through the six Scavengers leading the charge. I ruthlessly ripped out their dark-energy crystal cores with my bare hands and shoved them straight to the young owl on my shoulder.
Gulp! The nocturnal owl swallowed the cores, let out a burp, and its cold flames burned even brighter.
I use pure physical violence to tear apart the prey; the owl creates openings and converts the food to feed me back.
A perfect, bloody cycle of "Kill - Feed - Feedback" was officially established in this abyss!
…
Seven days later.
Deep within the Lightless Sea.
Puchi!
Standing on the corpse of a [Void Poison Spider] the size of a truck, I morphed the scorching cold flames on my left shoulder into a searing blade of light and hacked off its head in a single strike.
After seven days of nearly ceaseless slaughter, I was drenched in blood. My once-shredded evening suit had long been stained pitch-black by the bodily fluids of abyssal beasts.
Not only had my stamina fully recovered, but through the owl's continuous feedback, my physical endurance was approaching my absolute prime. However, without my S-Class Sword Bone, my raw combat power still wasn't even half of what it used to be.
Meanwhile, the young owl heavily feasting on the spider's carcass had grown more than a dozen times its original size.
It now resembled a robust dragon-eagle, completely covered in streamlined, midnight-black feathers, with terrifying pale starlight flowing along the tips of its wings.
It had devoured a swarm of [High-Dimensional Parasites], two nests of [Spatial Ghouls], and hundreds of Scavenger Fish in this sector alone.
Tearing off a chunk of raw spider meat and chewing it alive, my eyes were colder than the surrounding monsters.
I had completely adapted to the laws of the abyss. All I needed now was to find a spatial rift to carve my way back to the surface.
Bzzzt—RUMBLE—
Suddenly, the silent void above me was shattered by an intensely heavy mechanical roar, effortlessly grinding nearby meteorites into dust.
Directly overhead, the pitch-black barrier of nothingness was forced violently open.
A hundred-meter-long steel behemoth, bathed in blinding blue light and branded with the Federal Control Bureau's unique "Scepter and Sword" emblem on its armor, smashed into the spatial orbit of the Lightless Sea like a giant whale breaching glass!
The [Ghost Containment Train]!
It was the Control Bureau's heavy-armed mobile base, explicitly designed to execute top-secret missions in unspeakable territories.
The train hovered above, its side armor slowly folding out to deploy dense tracking radars.
"Ji..."
The young owl, previously head-down and feeding, suddenly stopped.
It tilted its head, its pitch-black eyes locking onto the train above, as if listening to an invisible frequency wave.
As a Law Entity, it effortlessly intercepted and decrypted the train's radio comms, translating it directly into a cold dialogue within my mind:
[Coordinates confirmed. Arrived at Target Abandoned Zone Zero.]
[Repeating Commander Victor's supreme directive: Search for the remains of former Enforcer Arthur. If the target has been corrupted by pollution and failed to die completely, execute immediate physical erasure. Even if it's just a single fragment of bone, bring it back to be burned to ash.]
[Field Team A, prepare for anti-gravity drop...]
Listening to the voices transmitted from the owl, I stopped chewing and slowly exhaled a breath of bloody mist.
Victor, oh Victor. My dear little brother.
You couldn't even wait seven days. You dumped me into the abyss, yet you still need to see my ashes with your own eyes to feel safe.
I tilted my head up, watching the fully-armed A-Rank Agents beginning their descent from the train. Wiping the blood from the corner of my mouth with my thumb, the murderous intent in my eyes was akin to a detonating nuclear warhead.
"Little Night, you must be sick of eating trash these past few days, huh?"
I gently patted the young owl on my shoulder. It let out an extremely greedy, low shriek as ice-cold sparks aggressively exploded across its black feathers.
"Let's go," I sneered coldly, tightening my grip on the venom-stained bone blade.
"Let's go eat some... premium takeout sent by humanity."
