Chapter 3

  Nadia's POV

My hands trembled as I clicked on the poster's profile to check her other posts. And the first one I saw was a photo of two hands tightly clasped.

  Could it be…?

My eyes scanned the hands frantically, and I saw a mole and a ring on the man's finger. I let out a shaky breath when I realized it was Alexander's hand.

But what made me finally lose it was when I checked the date the picture was posted, and it turned out to be nearly the same day he had proposed to me a year ago.

It was barely one day after the proposal, and he had gone to be with another woman. I could only wonder how long this had been going on without my knowledge.

Anger coursed through me as I stood up and stormed off to the bathroom. I yanked off the matching ring on my finger, and I flushed it down the toilet without thinking twice.

The nerves! The absolute nerve of him to throw away our relationship and everything we built for another woman!

I gave up everything to be with him, and yet he did this.

He was just a cheating, greedy bastard who couldn't keep his dick in his pants and be satisfied with what he had.

If I wasn't certain that I was going to leave him before, finding out about this definitely sealed the deal. I was so fucking done.

Alexander did not come back to the villa last night. And I genuinely couldn't care less. But waking up in the morning, and the first thing I saw was a call from him, started my day off on the wrong foot.

I had a scowl on my face as I answered the call, and I didn't even bother with pleasantries. "What is it?"

"Good morning to you, too, baby. Sure sounds like you had a good night's sleep," his bubbly voice came from the other end of the phone.

"Get to the point, or I'll hang up," I snapped.

He dropped the lively act immediately. "Let's meet at the bridal shop for your fitting."

"What?" I asked, my brows knitting in confusion.

"You have to try on your wedding dress, don't you? I want to be there while you do it," he said. "Don't take long. I'll see you soon."

He didn't wait for my response before hanging up. I stared at the screen for several seconds, wondering what the hell that was about and if I should go to the bridal shop or not.

After thinking about it for a while, I decided to go and see what the fuss was about.

I got out of my car thirty minutes later and walked into the shop, my morning coffee in hand. I glanced around the waiting area to see if Alexander had arrived, but he hadn't.

"You're welcome to our bridal shop once again, Ms. Sterling. You are here for your fitting, right? Would you like to try on your dress ahead of time?" the clerk asked with a polite smile on her face.

My face twisted with disgust as the memory of Alexander fucking that woman with my wedding dress bunched around her waist flashed in my mind.

"No, thank you." I bit out harshly.

Right as I said that, I heard the sound of the door opening once more, and I turned around to see Alexander walk in. His eyes lit up when he saw me, and he grinned.

"Hey, babe! You came early," he uttered smilingly as he gave me a hug. His eyes travelled down the length of my body, and he frowned. "You haven't tried on the dress? I've been looking forward to this day for a long time."

I didn't respond, my eyes trained on the person following closely behind him. Alexander caught on to who I was staring at, and he glanced at her before looking back at me.

"Nadia, this is Daisy Miller. She is a newcomer from our partner company, Eastbrook Financial. And Daisy, this is Nadia Sterling, my fiancée and my soon-to-be wife," he said with a smile.

"I thought the two of you had similar personalities, and I decided to bring her along so I could introduce you guys. "

"Nice to finally meet you, Ms. Sterling. Mr. Blackwell has told me so much about you. He could never shut up about how beautiful you are," Daisy said, extending her hand.

I stared at her outstretched hand, refusing to do as much as touch her.

This was her. The same girl who was in the fitting room yesterday. The same woman my fiancé had been fucking around with for God knows how long.

My head spun as anger coursed through me.

Not only was she the woman Alexander was cheating on me with, he even had the nerves to bring her to me. They were bold enough to show their faces and act like nothing was going on between them.

My fingers flexed, itching to tear them both apart, but I held myself back. I balled my fists around my purse to calm myself down.

"Yeah. Same," I said simply, eyeing her hand as I looked at her with disgust.

She laughed hesitantly as she withdrew her hand.

Alexander let out a low hiss. "Don't embarrass me in public," he muttered sharply. "Why don't you try on your wedding dress first? I'm dying to see you in it."

At this point, the wedding dress had been put on a mannequin for us to see. And from the corner of my eye, I could see Daisy staring at the dress with longing in her eyes. My lips stretched into a smirk as I got an idea.

"Daisy, why don't you try on the dress for me? I'm not really feeling up to the stress of putting on the dress. And since our bodies are quite similar, I'll get an idea of how it looks better than the mannequin."

"No, she can't. It's your wedding dress, and only you can try it on, Nadia. Just go into the fitting room," Alexander said, and I snorted.

"Daisy has a mouth, doesn't she?" I said coolly as I met her gaze. "So what do you say?"

She bobbed her head. "I'll be glad to wear the dress on your behalf, Ms. Sterling."

"Are you not going to help her?" I asked Alexander, and he froze.

"What do you mean? That's the job of the attendant. Don't be unreasonable, Nadia," he rushed out, and I kissed my teeth.

Daisy was wearing the wedding dress when she came out.

The moment my eyes landed on her, the image of what I had seen the day before came rushing to my head. My wedding dress, bunched around her waist as Alexander fucked her.

My fist tightened around my cup of coffee as she twirled, showing off the dress with a wide smile on her face.

How dare she smile so innocently after what she did?

"Here it is, Ms. Sterling. What do you think—"

I didn't let her finish before splashing the contents of my coffee all over the dress.
