Chapter5 You disappeared for three whole days
Ylva's POV
The car had barely come to a stop outside the residence when my legs had already gone so weak I could hardly stand. Soren had been unable to hold back in the car and had taken me once right there.
In the narrow backseat, he had pulled me onto his lap, his thick, hard cock thrusting deep into my body with each stroke carrying the ferocity and reluctance of impending parting.
I had bitten down on his shoulder to keep myself from crying out too loudly, while the cold silver bead on his chest pressed against my lips—the piercing on one side of his nipple.
Every time I unconsciously bit it, Soren’s body would shudder violently, and he would thrust even harder, as if he wanted to swallow me whole.
When the car door opened, I could not stand at all. Soren let out a low chuckle, lifted me horizontally into his arms, and strode straight through the entrance.
His pectoral muscles were thick and powerful, his abdominal muscles tight and sharply defined, the lines so clear they were impossible to look away from.
His thighs were even more striking—solid muscle built from training with the warriors every dawn. They held me steady like two iron pillars. Piercings covered his body—earlobes, inside his lips, and the tip of his tongue.
Whenever I kissed him, I would always lick that small, cold bead in his mouth. The cool sensation mixed with his body heat felt strangely comforting and made me tremble.
For the next three days, we hardly ever left the bedroom. As soon as Soren returned, he would pin me down on the bed, from daytime into the night, over and over again.
He loved it when I bit the silver bead on his nipple. Each time my teeth touched it, he would growl and flip me over, driving into me even more fiercely from behind, as though he wanted to pour all the pain of parting three days later into my body.
I had originally planned to finish sewing the nightclothes while he was away, as a farewell gift for his departure.
But every time I picked up the needle and thread, he would wrap his arms around me from behind and whisper, “Ylva, you yourself are the best gift. Don’t waste time on fabric. I only want you.”
I knew he liked that I could not bear to part with him, so I stopped sleeping too. During the day, he fucked me until my legs went limp, and at night, he held me in his arms and took me until dawn was almost breaking.
We tangled together like this for three full days, until the morning of the fourth day, when I could no longer hold on. After he brought me to climax once more, I fell into a deep, exhausted sleep.
When I finally woke, the quilt beside me was completely cold. My voice was hoarse as I called for Marta. She walked in quietly, her eyes filled with sympathy.
“Luna, Alpha Soren left before dawn. He said you were too tired these past few days and did not want to disturb your rest, so he specifically instructed us not to wake you. He has already led the troops out of the capital gates and gone far away.”
I sat against the headboard in a daze, anger and anxiety surging together. Tears rushed into my eyes at once.
We had clearly agreed that I would see him off at the city gate. I had wanted to look at him one last time… yet now I had not even managed to say goodbye.
My heart was in complete chaos. I threw on whatever clothes I could grab, snatched up my cloak, and rushed outside. Marta called after me, but I could not hear a word.
I went straight to the ancient temple deep within Ironblood territory that was dedicated to the Moon Goddess. It was a place where the Pack had prayed for the safe return of warriors for generations.
The statue stood tall and solemn, the Moon Goddess holding a silver bow, her expression gentle yet resolute.
When I stepped into the temple, my legs were still weak, and my body was covered in marks Soren had left behind. The red traces on the back of my neck and collarbone could not be completely hidden.
I had barely knelt when I heard familiar, cold footsteps behind me. I turned my head and saw Thelda—Soren’s mother—standing at the temple entrance, staring at me.
“As the Luna of the pack, you disappeared for three whole days and didn’t even help deal with any documents. You only know how to be lazy.”
Her gaze swept over the red marks I had failed to cover, and her face darkened at once.
“As the Luna of the pack, you have no dignity at all,” Her voice was sharp. “Running around the pack looking like this—what kind of example are you setting? How utterly disgraceful.”
I remained kneeling on the ground, fingers digging hard into the stone floor. My throat tightened, but I could not utter a single word in retort.
Thelda stepped closer, her smile cold. “Soren must have been blind to bring someone like you back. You cannot even bear a child, yet you dare pray here? If he does not return…”
Her voice grew increasingly vicious, cutting into my heart like a knife. I lowered my head, tears falling one by one onto the cold stone slabs. My body still ached faintly from the excessive exertion of the past few days.
At that moment, an extremely powerful aura pressed in from outside the temple, like an invisible blade of ice.
Fenric appeared.
He wore a silver-gray robe, his jet-black hair neatly combed back, the wolf-claw tattoo of the Silvermane Pack faintly glowing on the side of his neck under the light.
He simply stood there, and the two attendants who had followed Thelda involuntarily stepped back. Fenric’s gaze swept across Thelda, his voice low yet carrying unquestionable authority.
“Mrs. Ashford, this is a place of prayer. If you have any objections to Soren’s mate, you may speak to him in person when he returns. For now, please do not disturb Ylva.”
Thelda’s face turned livid, but in the end, she did not dare openly confront the Alpha of the Silvermane Pack. She gave a cold snort and left. The temple fell silent at once.
Fenric walked closer and stopped two steps away from me. He was half a head taller than Soren; even while I knelt, I only reached his waist.
The heavy male scent washed over me, yet beneath it lingered a hidden heat that made my ears burn instantly.
I remembered how, during these past three days, every time I reached climax beneath Soren, Fenric’s figure had occasionally flashed through my mind. Shame flooded me at once.
“Ylva, are you all right?” His voice was steady, yet it made me inexplicably flustered.
I lifted my head and met his pale blue eyes. Briar suddenly fell completely silent inside me. That unnatural stillness alarmed me more than any growl ever could.
I instinctively tried to pull back, but my weak legs nearly caused me to collapse. Fenric reached out to steady my arm, his fingertips lingering for only a moment before he quickly withdrew his hand.
I saw his brows furrow slightly, as though he were suppressing something.
“Thank you…” I said in a low, trembling voice, “I only… wanted to pray for Soren.”
Fenric’s gaze fell on my disheveled hair and the uncovered red marks. His throat bobbed slightly. He quickly looked away, his tone returning to its usual indifference.
“Soren told me not to disturb your rest before he left, and asked me to come check on you. He was worried you would be heartbroken when you woke up. But seeing you like this, you seem stronger than I expected.”
I caught the clear mockery in his tone. I wiped away my tears, stood up defiantly, and said, “You don’t need to worry about me. As the Luna of the pack, I will protect the pack well.”
Fenric gave a silent nod and turned to leave. Ivy had somehow followed me in and now stood at my feet, gently wagging her tail as she watched the direction Fenric had gone.
I buried my face into Ivy’s soft white fur, my heart in complete turmoil. Soren had left, yet I had not even managed to see him off.
Thelda’s humiliating words still echoed in my ears, and Fenric’s sudden appearance… had once again reminded me of those improper thoughts I had harbored while beneath Soren these past three days.
We had been apart for only hours, yet time already felt like days. I did not know where Soren was now, nor whether he was thinking of me.
Soren, you must return safely. I beg you.
I knelt before the statue of the Moon Goddess, pressed my hands to my forehead, and closed my eyes.
