Chapter 2 Chapter 2
Thalia
My shoulder slumps, my chin lowers slightly as I look down. Now, I have to pretend to be my husband's immense crush, just to feel his touch.
I nod, hesitantly and I look up to him.
He blinks slowly, looking tipsy just like the night, seven years ago. “You have a blonde wig.. right?” he asks, lifting up my chin.
My heart clenches. Lucinda is a blonde. Is this really happening? Can't he love me for who I am? We've already been through a lot together.
“Yeah… I have one in my closet.” My lips quiver as I extract myself from his hold, “I should get it..” I say, heading towards the closest.
I walk to the closet and pull out a blonde wig. Then I stare at my reflection, my naked body, untouched in seven years.
My mouth corners downward as I untie my ponytail. Then I put on the blonde hair, hiding my black wavy hair beneath it.
I hear his footsteps approaching and soon I see him through the mirror. His beautiful hazel eyes glances all over body as he steps closer.
“Don't turn… Just bend over,” he says, caressing my waistline.
My eyes glisten with unused tears as I hold the table and bend over, letting my ass touch his waist.
I feel the hardness of his cock and my body gets excited.
He unzips and pulls off. He holds my hair, a part of the blonde wig and begins to rub the tip of his cock slowly on my clit.
A shiver runs down my spine as heat pools deep inside me. I've always wanted to feel him, no matter how little.
“I've missed you so much,” he groans. “Lucinda…”
We had spent all night fucking and role playing.
To him, I was Lucinda but to me, he was my everything and I will do anything just to have a taste of him again.
Now, he is sleeping so handsomely and peaceful beside me, the duvet, covering both our nakedness.
I trace my fingers on his cheeks, slowly caressing it while I watch him sleep. His face seems softer, all the sharp edges eased away.
This is the moment I've always craved for in our marriage and I don't want it to end. I don't mind being Lucinda, if that's all it takes. I don't mind dying my hair blonde.
I can be her, for him.
He opens his eyes and my body stills in sudden awareness. Regardless, he holds my hands on his cheeks, “You got what you wanted.. right?” He pushes me, “Just so you know… your seduction changes nothing.”
My seduction? His words send an ache to my chest but there is something else that feels more pressing.
I continue staring into his eyes, not knowing how to react.
He furrows his brows, “and as for the annulment….”
“Your eyes… it is… glowing red.” I blurt out.
He rushes out of the bed, naked of course. He walks straight to the vanity and glares at his reflection.
He turns to me, chest heaving.
I don't want to believe what it could mean but I need to ask.
“What does this mean? Cassian.”
He doesn't say anything.
“Cassian…” I call out again.
“My brother is dead.” he says and walks into the bathroom.
My eyes are wide in shock. Everything inside me goes still. I don't know how to comprehend this. Cassian is now the Alpha of the GoldenMoon Pack.
I quickly stand, putting on my night gown. I hurry to the bathroom, to open the door but it is already locked from the inside.
I hear the water splashing on him and after a few minutes, he walks out, the towel wrapped around his waist.
There is so much bitterness in his eyes, preventing me from asking the right questions.
“You should freshen up and dress Leo up… we are traveling back to the pack.” he says, dragging up his leather pants.
“What is going on?...Your brother had a son with Lucinda and the alpha power is hereditary…. Isn't it?”
He ignores my question, buttoning up his pants. “We don't have time for this.. you should dress up…” He says, dragging out his t-shirt from the closet.
Lucinda’s son never belonged to his brother. It’s the only thing that explains why the Alpha’s powers chose him.
“Thalia!! What in the bloody moon are you still doing there? Standing and staring at me like a moron..” he blurts, seeing I haven't moved an inch.
“Is it yours?” I cut in. “Lucinda's son… is it yours?”
“You're being insensitive right now… Geez! I just found out my brother is dead.” He says and puts on his t-shirt.
I nod and drag the towel from the arm chair, where he had dropped it. I pull out the wig, tossing it to the floor, gritting my teeth. Then, I step into the bathroom, tears brimming in my eyes.
I turn the shower on and let the water roar, as if it might drown out the chaos in my head. Going back there shatters everything. Lucinda will be there and what chance do I really have against her when she will be close by?
He is never going to pick a fake Lucinda over the real one.
I guess he is right. It is really insensitive of me to think this way when he had just lost his only brother.
I stand beneath the water, letting it splash on my skin as I wash myself. When I'm done, I just stand, letting my tears mix up with the water sliding down my face.
“Mummy,”
I hear my son's voice and I wrap the towel around me, rushing out of the bathroom. My eyes are wide in shock, he is already dressed up.
Cassian had already freshened him up in the other room and packed his bag.
“I packed a few things… whatever we need, we will get in the pack.”
I walk to my son and touch his cheeks, letting a sly smile spread across my face.
“Where are we going?” Leo asks, looking confused. “Father said we are leaving.”
“We don't have time for this… Dress up, Thalia.” he says, jaw clenching.
“We are going home, Leo.” I say, my chin lowering slightly. “Your father is now Alpha and you… now a prince.”
