Chapter 8

Ellesa's P.O.V

"Do you know each other?" I asked when I noticed that the two were silent.

"A-ah. A-ahm. S-sorry Li'l sis hah, I-I still need to find William. S-I'll leave you guys first." sister stuttered and left in a hurry, not even waiting for me to answer.

What happened there? I just shrugged my shoulders and turned my gaze to Nate.

Only to find out that it was looking at my sister who was walking away.

I cleared my throat to catch his attention. But he didn't seem to hear anything, he was just staring at my big sister until she already mixed and gone in the sea's of people wearing elegant and expensive clothes and dresses.

I touched him.

"Babe..." I called her. It takes a couple of seconds before he looked at me.

"Are you ok?" I asked worriedly. He just stared at me, and seemed to be deep in thought.

He was staring at me but it's like he was staring at the horizon.

"Is she your older sister?" He asked me a question.

I smiled.

"Yes she is. That's what I told you. I'm sorry, it looks like she's in a hurry to find her husband, you two didn't get to know each other properly." I'm happy. "Don't worry next time I will introduce you to her properly." I said full of assurance. But he didn't answer. He remained silent.

"Will she stay her for good?" He suddenly asked. His voice seemed lifeless. You can't tell if you're angry, sad, or happy.

"I think they only stay here for a month or two. You know her husband has a business to attend to, here in the Philippines. They went home early because of the company's anniversary. They were supposed to go home next month." I said. And faced him.

"Let's go. Let's have some food." I invited him with a smile. I was already feeling hungry, especially when I saw the variety of dishes served by the waiter.

"Go ahead. I was just going to the comfort room." That's it and he left. I wasn't even spoken to.

I just shrugged my shoulders and seat down at the table reserved for me and my husband.

I waited for him for almost half an hour but he still wasn't there. So I just eat first.

I finished eating my dessert but Nate still didn't come back. Where is that? I'll just call.

"Hey. Ellesa, is that you?" Someone's asking me. So I raised my eyes. Only to find out, she's one of my close classmates back in high school.

"Merlian? Wow. I can't believe we'll meet again. You look more beautiful than ever." I am happy to say. And hugged her, and kissed her.

"Well thanks. You too, look gorgeous. And lovely. It's like your beauty never fades." sHe said jokingly.

sHe just laughed.

"How's your life." I will ask. sHe smiled.

"I'm happy in my life right now with the only man I've ever loved. And guess what." It's a happy statement like falling in love.

"What?" I am happy to reply.

"We're going to have a baby." She exclaimed in happiness.

"Congratulations." That's all I said.

"By the way, I'm leaving, maybe my husband is looking for me. Goodbye." Merlian smiled goodbye. And left.

I was left here envious.

I hope Nate and I have children too. I really want to have children. I really love watching kids being carried by their parents. I love seeing them playing, feeling no harm and free.

Because when I was young I never experienced having a happy and full family. So that's my dream now for my future children, Nate and I.

But wait-- why is Nate still missing?

Third Person's P.O.V

Nate walked hurriedly when he saw Kelly leaving the venue. So he immediately said goodbye to Ellesa to go to the bathroom but the truth is that he followed Kelly.

He just wants to clarify the questions that are bothering his mind.

When he reached it, he immediately grabbed its wrist and pulled it towards his car.

"What the hell let me go." Kelly struggled and screamed so Nate immediately covered her mouth with his hand.

He immediately put it in the passenger seat and locked it so Kelly couldn't get out. And he entered too.

"What the hell! Let me go whoever you are!" Kelly exclaimed.

He faced Kelly and the woman was stunned.

"N-Nate." It's a low whisper.

"Why did you come back now?" Nate's voice boomed inside the car. "Do you know that I've been waiting for you to come back?"

But Kelly remained silent.

"And now that you're back which I've been waiting for, I just want to know that you have a family? Why Kelly? Why did you leave me?" There was resentment in Nate's voice, which made Kelly cry.

"I'm sorry Nate. I'm so sorry. It just that...." Kelly didn't finish what she was going to say and just started crying.

"Nate, we both have a family. I'm happy now. So it's better for us to just forget whatever we had before." Kelly pleaded. And the tears flowed more and more.

"F*ck! No way. I will never do that. After many years of waiting, That's all you're going to say? Kelly I'll take you back. I don't care if you have a family. I can accept your daughter and I'll treat her like my daughter. Just come back to me Mhie. Please." Nate said in pleading eyes and voice.

"That's what I can't do Nate. I can't leave my family I love them. I love my husband. My sister is there. sHe loves you. So please don't do anything that will destroy you." Kelly promised.

"Ok fine. I'll just annul our marriage with Ellesa, if that's what you want me to do." Nate said directly.

"Please don't do that Nate, Elle loves you very much. Don't hurt her please." Kelly said crying again. Thinking that the sister will be hurt. Yes, she still loves Nate. But his sister is more important to her.

"But I don't love her. I never love her. You're the only one I love. Didn't you say you love me too? And we'll get married when you come back?" Nate said and wiped Kelly's tears away.

They stared at each other and Nate slowly brought his face closer to Kelly.

Kelly just closed her eyes, then moment later their lips met.
