Chapter 3

Three days later, I took a private jet and arrived right on time at Terence and Doris's wedding.

What I didn't expect was that Terence had chosen a French castle as the wedding venue.

This castle had been passed down through generations of the Shelley family and was my personal property. How dare he!

I took a deep breath, forcing down the anger rising in my chest, and slipped quietly backstage.

Doris had just changed into her wedding dress and was admiring herself in the mirror, unable to suppress the smile on her lips.

A maid beside her looked at her with envy in her eyes.

"Miss Doris, Mr. Hall treats you so well. Not only did he give you assets worth hundreds of millions, but he also transferred this castle to your name!"

"You know, this castle has over five hundred years of history. Its value goes far beyond what money can measure!"

A flash of greed crossed Doris's eyes, and her smile was full of pride.

"Of course. I'm the one Mr. Hall loves most. I just mentioned being scared that the woman who keeps pestering him might come after me, and he immediately decided to hold this wedding to make me happy!"

"I'm now the owner of this castle. Since you're so good with words, you can be my personal maid from now on. I'll have Mr. Hall give you a nice salary."

The maid nodded eagerly with joy, while I slowly clenched my fists.

The closed door suddenly opened, and Terence walked in. Doris immediately threw herself into his arms excitedly.

"Mr. Hall, I'm finally going to marry you. I'm so happy."

"But I'm a little worried—what if Miss Yetta comes to cause trouble? Today is the most important day of my life..."

Terence laughed and wrapped his arm around her waist.

"Don't worry. Yetta has no idea about this. Besides, to make sure the wedding goes smoothly, I deliberately had my people create plenty of problems for her."

"She should be too busy to pay attention to what I'm doing right now."

My breath caught, and anger instantly surged through me.

Right before I left, a traitor had suddenly appeared among my people. Not only did they leak information, but they also caused my base to be attacked, resulting in massive casualties and heavy losses.

So it was Terence Hall behind it all!

Had he forgotten that those people weren't just my subordinates—they were brothers who had risked their lives alongside him? For the sake of Doris, he cared so little about their lives!

Afraid I'd lose control and shoot this pair of scum right there, I turned and went back to the wedding venue.

Just as I was looking for a place to hide, a warm body suddenly pressed against my back.

"Yetta, long time no see."

The deep voice with a hint of playfulness sounded strangely familiar. I turned around to see that extremely handsome face.

It was Elano Charles, a friend who had been pursuing me for over ten years, and also my ally in taking down Terence.

"I happen to need a date. Miss Yetta, would you do me the honor of sitting with me?"

I nodded and let Elano take my hand as we walked to a secluded corner.

After the host warmed up the atmosphere, the wedding officially began. Terence led Doris out by the hand.

But everyone present looked at each other in confusion and started whispering.

"Who is this woman? Shouldn't Mr. Hall be marrying Miss Yetta?"

"Did Mr. Hall cheat? After all, he was put in the godfather position by Miss Yetta. If Miss Yetta finds out about this, she won't let it go, will she?"

Terence's gaze swept across the crowd below like a blade, his voice ice cold. "My fiancée has always been Doris Evelyn. As for Yetta, she was just a stand-in I deliberately pushed into the spotlight to protect Doris. Her real identity is actually my family's housekeeper!"

Housekeeper?

I almost laughed in anger.

Terence really had some nerve. It seemed he had completely forgotten who gave him everything he had today!

Doris held onto Terence's arm with the look of someone who had won.

"Mr. Hall is right. I'm his fiancée. I'm the one who's been through life and death with him all these years!"

"Not only that, we have a child together. He will be the only heir of the Hall family!"

With that, she looked at Terence Hall expectantly. Terence slowly nodded and had a servant bring the child out.

Seeing the child's features that were identical to Terence's, the whole room erupted.

Doris took the child and held him proudly in her arms. Like she had won a battle, she said arrogantly, "This castle beneath your feet is the wedding gift Mr. Hall gave me. I don't want anyone gossiping on my property."

"So at today's wedding, if anyone dares mention that bitch Yetta again, I'll have Mr. Hall personally throw them into the sea to feed the sharks."

The room fell silent. After all, with Terence Hall as the mafia godfather, no one dared offend his woman.

Only the old butler who had been guarding the castle finally couldn't take it anymore and spoke up angrily, "This castle has been the private property of the Shelley family for five hundred years. Miss Doris, your surname is Evelyn. What gives you the right to call yourself the owner of this castle?"

Doris's face changed instantly, and she glared at him with resentment. Terence Hall directly pulled out a gun and pointed it at the old butler's forehead, his cold eyes looking at him as if he were already dead.

"The Shelley family has no heirs left. Since you care so little about your life, don't blame me for making an example of you!"

Just as Terence's finger was about to pull the trigger, I slowly stood up, my gaze falling on him as I said coldly, "Terence Hall, please tell me—I'm standing right here, so who says the Shelley family has no heirs?"
