This time, without even asking for permission, Jay instinctively reached forward and touched the watch, activating his second touch.

The moment the notification appeared, Jay’s heart pounded violently inside his chest. His suspicion had been confirmed.
This means the system simply couldn’t work twice on the same object.
But it still functioned perfectly on a different item, no matter how valuable it was.
Still, Jay realized there were many things he didn’t yet understand about the system.
For example, would the ability fail only on that exact watch from now on?, Or would it completely stop working on every watch of the same model?
That was something he still needed to ask the system.
But for now, none of that mattered. Because at this exact moment, his bank account had just increased by another 2 point 8 million dollars.
Jay slowly suppressed the excitement threatening to show on his face before calmly lifting his gaze toward Manager Lewis.
“I like this one,” Jay said casually. “I’ll take it.”
Hahaha...
“Oh, come on!” Hale suddenly exploded with laughter. “You’ve gotta be kidding me!”
“You couldn’t even afford that watch if you sold your worthless kidney, you poor bastard!” Hale sneered mockingly.
Even someone like him found the Eclipse Tourbillon absurdly extremely expensive, so there was no way in hell he believed Jay could buy it.
Hale turned toward the Manager with visible annoyance.
“Come on, Manager Lewis,” he said impatiently. “Don’t you see this guy is wasting your time?”
He pointed directly at Jay again.
“Take a good look at him! Do you seriously think a loser like this can actually afford that watch?”
Hale scoffed coldly.
“Honestly, I expected you to have thrown him out already, but it seems even you’ve lost your mind.”
The atmosphere instantly became tense again.
The staff nearby exchanged uncertain glances while the security guards quietly observed the situation.
Even Manager Lewis himself looked hesitant now. Not because he fully believed Hale, but because the Eclipse Tourbillon wasn’t just expensive.
It was nearly three million dollars.
A watch at that level couldn’t simply be purchased casually.
Meanwhile, throughout all the pressure and ridicule directed at him, Jay remained seated calmly.
Then slowly…
He reached into his pocket and the moment Hale saw that, he immediately laughed again.
“What now?” Hale mocked. “You’re about to pull out your employee ID card?”
But Jay ignored him completely.
Instead, he calmly pulled out his phone and placed it on the table, then he looked directly at the Manager.
“How would you like the payment made?” he asked indifferently.
The moment those words left his mouth, Hale’s laughter abruptly stopped.
“Oh, if you’re ready, I can provide our payment terminal,” The manager said politely.
“Yes, I’m ready,” Jay replied calmly.
Within seconds, the same female staff member who had approached him earlier quickly brought over the payment terminal. However, unlike before, the arrogance and disdain in her eyes were completely gone.
Now, she looked nervous instead.
Jay casually picked up his phone and tapped it against the machine.
Beep.
Payment Successful.
The confirmation sound echoed clearly throughout the VIP area.
Instantly, the entire atmosphere froze.
And hale’s eyes couldn't help but widened in complete disbelief.
“How. how is this possible?” he muttered subconsciously.
His mind went blank for a moment.
Just a few days ago, he had personally seen this morron working as a waiter at a Restaurant. The same poor, hopeless Jay he used to mock endlessly back in college had just casually purchased a luxury watch worth almost three million dollars.
Hale simply couldn’t process it.
Even his girlfriend, who had been looking at Jay with mockery and disdain moments ago, was now staring at him differently.
The contempt in her eyes had vanished completely, replaced with visible admiration and interest.
It was painfully obvious she was the type of woman who worshipped money above all else.
Meanwhile, Manager Lewis himself looked genuinely stunned despite maintaining his professional composure.
A customer capable of casually spending nearly three million dollars without hesitation was not someone ordinary.
Immediately, his attitude toward Jay became even more respectful.
“I noticed you didn’t arrive with any form of security, sir,” Manager Lewis said carefully. “If you’d like, we can provide two armed guards to escort you safely to your destination.”
He gestured respectfully toward the watch.
“You’ve just purchased an extremely rare and valuable antique. Naturally, we want to ensure our most esteemed customers remain safe.”
Hearing the manager address Jay with such respect caused Hale’s face to turn ugly instantly.
But Jay simply waved his hand casually.
“There won’t be any need for that,” he replied indifferently. “Just package it in a bag and I’ll be good to go.”
The way Jay spoke so casually about of a 2 point 8-million-dollar purchase made the surrounding staff even more shocked.
To him, it almost sounded as though he had merely bought an ordinary accessory rather than one of the rarest luxury watches in the city.
Manager Lewis carefully observed Jay for a brief moment, unable to hide the curiosity building inside him.
Who exactly is this young man?
Someone capable of spending millions as if it was nothing should already be famous within elite circles and yet strangely enough he had never heard of him before.
Meanwhile, Hale remained standing there stiffly with an increasingly ugly expression.
The humiliation he had tried forcing onto Jay had completely reversed onto himself instead.
And the worst part was...
Jay hadn’t even bothered arguing with him from beginning to end.
He simply used money to slap Hale directly in the face, which was something he could never have thought possible.
Immediately after the watch was carefully packaged exactly as he requested and handed over to him, Jay slowly rose from his seat.
The entire VIP room remained unusually silent as everyone watched him.
Especially Hale.
Jay calmly walked toward him before stopping right by his side.
Then he leaned slightly closer to his ears, so his words could sink in properly.
“Who’s the poor bastard now, you piece of shit?” Jay said coldly. “You’re nothing without your daddy’s money.”
Hale’s expression instantly darkened, but before he could say a word back, Jay had already walked away.
Meanwhile, his stunning girlfriend couldn’t help stealing a glance at Jay’s back as he calmly exited the VIP area.
Jay walked through the main jewelry store while carrying the luxury bag containing the Eclipse Tourbillon watch.
As he made his way toward the exit, a faint smile slowly appeared on his face.
He had never originally intended to purchase anything when he came here today.
His only goal was to use the daily touch to extract value from expensive objects but after running into Hale changed his motive completely.
Jay simply couldn’t let someone like Hale continue looking down on him like before. So he took advantage of the situation perfectly.
He used his final daily touch to extract the value of the most expensive watch in the store, then used the reward money from the system itself to purchase the exact same watch outright.
A perfect face slap.
“Haaa.”
Jay let out a slow breath filled with satisfaction as he stepped outside the building.
There was no way he would ever forget the expression on Hale’s face.
That look of disbelief, humiliation, and confusion had honestly felt better than the money itself.
But just as Jay stepped out of the mall entrance, his phone suddenly vibrated in his hand. A credit alert notification of $350 appeared on the screen.
And at the same time, another text message arrived immediately after.
The sender was Mr Tanshin.
Jay paused slightly before tapping the message open.
“Sorry for firing you last night, boy. You know I had no choice. Either way, this is all I was able to scrape together for this month. I wish you the best, boy. Don’t be too hard on yourself.”
Jay stared silently at the message for a few seconds.
Truthfully, he no longer needed the money. In fact, he had completely forgotten today was supposed to be payday until the notification appeared.
If Edward hadn’t pressured Mr Tanshin into firing him, he would’ve normally received the payment as scheduled anyway.
But still.
Jay genuinely appreciated the old man’s effort.
The fact that Mr Tanshin still sent him money despite everything showed just how guilty he must have felt deep down for firing him.
Jay slowly slipped his phone back into his pocket.
As for Edward, Jay hadn’t forgotten about him. Not even the slightest.
He would absolutely make Edward pay for what he did to him. That much, he swore to himself silently, But for now, revenge wasn’t his main priority.
Right now, he needs to focus on putting himself in order first. Only after that, would he start plotting his revenge against Edward Devin.
And thanks to the system…
All that was not impossible to achieve. Now his main goal is moving into a new place, the thought of that still Lingered on his mind.
