Chapter 13 Owning my first car

Jay wasn’t much of a car guy.

Not because he disliked cars or anything like that, but simply because he never saw the point in obsessing over things he knew he could never afford, at least not before the system appeared.

Back then, luxury cars were nothing more than distant fantasies to him, beautiful things only meant for rich people living completely different lives.

As a matter of fact, Jay had already spotted a luxury car dealership earlier while heading to and from the property viewing with Mr. James.

It wasn’t too far from the Evasy Real Estate building. It's just a short walking distance that wouldn’t even take more than a minute or two.

With that thought in mind, Jay immediately began walking toward the direction of the dealership with the early evening breeze brushing softly against him as vehicle's occasionally sped past the road nearby.

As he walked, Jay finally decided to ask the question that had been bothering him ever since the incident at the jewelry store.

“Hey, System,” Jay called inwardly.

[Yes, Host.]

Jay slowed his pace slightly.

“The invalid touch issue earlier,” he began thoughtfully. “Was it because I already used a touch on that specific watch?”

[Correct host.]

Jay’s eyes narrowed slightly.

“So the system cannot extract value from the same object twice?”

[Correct host.]

Jay nodded faintly before asking the next thing on his mind.

“What about identical items?”

A brief pause followed before the system answered again.

[The restriction only applies to the exact object previously touched by Host.]

Jay’s heartbeat quickened slightly.

That meant if he tried to use the Touch on an object he had already used the ability on before, it simply wouldn't work.

Another question immediately popped into Jay's mind.

"So, theoretically," he muttered under his breath as he walked, "I could keep using my daily Touches on different items, even if they're the same brand or model as an object I've already used the ability on?"

[Yes host.]

A faint smile slowly formed on Jay’s face. That was what he wanted to really confirm, he was a little bit bothered maybe the system touch ability wouldn't work on identical items of the same brand or model.

But it turns out as long as they were separate objects, the system could continuously extract value from them.

Jay honestly felt his excitement growing again but However, another thought quickly came to mind.

“What happens if the item belongs to someone else?” he asked curiously. “Like. if I touch someone’s car or expensive property?”

[But you have already touched someone else's car.]

The system reminded him.

"Oh... that's true," Jay muttered, rubbing the back of his neck as realization dawned on him. He had just asked a dumb question—something he should have already known the answer to. After all, the first two Touches he had used from the system were on random cars parked along the street.

[Ownership status is irrelevant. the system only evaluates object value. Ownership does not affect extraction eligibility.]

The system added just for him to get a better understanding.

Jay slowly exhaled and shook his head slightly as he finally arrived in front of the luxury car dealership he had noticed earlier.

The enormous glass building reflected the evening sunlight beautifully while multiple exotic vehicles were displayed behind the transparent walls.

Jay slowly lifted his gaze to the giant silver letters mounted above the entrance.

Veltrix Motors.

He pushed open the glass door and casually walked into the dealership. The first thing that struck him was the atmosphere.

Everything inside looked sleek, polished, and absurdly expensive. Bright white lights reflected beautifully against the flawless bodies of the luxury cars displayed across the massive showroom floor.

For a brief moment, Jay simply stood there quietly while admiring the vehicles around him. Every single car here looked like something only celebrities and millionares could afford.

Honestly, if he hadn’t already exhausted his daily touches earlier, Jay definitely would have used them here without hesitation, because the value of the cars here could simply be insane.

Just then, a salesperson dressed in a fitted black suit began approaching him with a professional smile.

“Good evening, sir,” the man greeted politely. “May I help you with anything today?”

Jay slowly glanced around the showroom again before his eyes eventually landed on one particular vehicle parked not too far away.

A black Lamborghini Urus.

Unlike the flashy sports cars nearby, the Urus looked more refined and practical while still radiating overwhelming luxury and power at the same time.

It was aggressive. Elegant. And expensive-looking without trying too hard.

Jay pointed toward it slightly. “This one," he said. “How much is this one?”

The salesperson’s eyes briefly lit up.

“Excellent choice, sir,” he replied immediately before walking toward the vehicle with Jay following behind.

“This is the Lamborghini Urus.”

“It’s one of Lamborghini’s most popular luxury performance SUVs. It has twin-turbo V8 engine, advanced all-wheel drive system, luxurious interior, and exceptional speed despite being an SUV.”

The salesperson gently ran his hand along the side of the vehicle proudly.

“This particular model also comes with upgraded interior customization, sport exhaust package, premium wheels, and full smart driving assistance.”

Then he finally got to the important part.

“The total price for this unit is approximately three hundred and seventy thousand dollars.”

Jay nodded calmly.

Without hesitation, he looked directly at the salesman.

“I’ll take it.”

The salesperson blinked once, slightly caught off guard by jay immediate decision. In the sale persons point of view, it seemed like Jay had already knew what he wanted before he even came in.

And he was quit convinced because of the way jay sounded completely certain about his choice.

“Of course, sir,” the salesperson quickly replied professionally. “If you’d follow me, we can finalize the paperwork immediately.”

A short while later, Jay was seated inside a private office section while the dealership staff prepared the purchase documents.

Without wasting any time, Jay simply handed over his bank card and the salesperson respectfully accepted it before processing the payment requirements.

A few minutes later the Payment went Successfully and everything was completed smoothly.

“Congratulations on your new vehicle, sir,” the sale person said while handing over the keys with both hands.

Jay accepted the keys, his gaze lingering on the Lamborghini emblem embedded in the key fob.

At last... my first real car, he thought to himself.

Not long ago, even owning an ordinary secondhand car had seemed completely out of reach. Yet now, he had casually purchased a Lamborghini which felt utterly outstonishing to him.

A few moments later, the salesperson escorted Jay back toward the vehicle personally.

He opened the driver-side door before patiently explaining several functions inside the car.

“This button starts the engine.”

He pointed carefully at the controls.

“And this is how you switch between drive modes. Strada for regular driving, Sport mode for aggressive performance, and Corsa for maximum performance output.”

Jay listened attentively while sitting inside the luxurious cabin.

The interior smelled brand new, with premium leather, digital displays, and ambient lighting surrounding him beautifully.

Truthfully, driving wasn’t completely new to him.

Back when he worked as a delivery driver before becoming a waiter, he had driven several vehicles before.

So despite the Lamborghini being far more advanced and expensive, the experience didn’t feel entirely unfamiliar.

Once the explanation ended, the salesperson stepped back respectfully.

“You’re all set, sir.”

Jay nodded slightly before pressing the ignition button.

VROOOOM.

The engine roared to life instantly with a deep powerful sound that sent excitement rushing through him immediately.

A faint grin appeared on Jay’s face as he slowly placed the car into drive mode.

The Lamborghini smoothly rolled forward before exiting the dealership elegantly.

As Jay drove onto the city streets, people immediately began turning their heads toward the vehicle staring at it in admiration.

Meanwhile, Jay simply kept driving calmly while enjoying the feeling of being behind the wheel of a machine that once felt completely beyond his reach.

But he wasn’t heading toward his newly rented apartment yet. Instead, Jay drove toward his run-down apartment first.

He still needed to collect some few belongings he had there before officially moving into his new luxury home.
