Chapter 6 System stats

The mechanical voice instantly responded inside his mind.

Jay swallowed his food before pointing toward the floating stats screen.

“Can you explain what the Intelligence, Agility, and Charisma stats actually mean?” Jay asked while setting his spoon down for a moment. “I want to understand them better.”

[ Certainly, Host...

"I will gladly explain. ]

The blue interface flickered softly before several lines of information appeared beneath the stats panel.

[ Each numerical stat represents the Host’s current personal capabilities and overall human potential.

Starting with Intelligence:

This stat represents the Host’s current IQ, learning ability, mental processing speed, memory retention, analytical thinking, and overall intellectual capacity.

The average human possesses an Intelligence stat between 8 and 15. and exceptional geniuses typically range between 20 and 25. ]

Jay blinked slightly after hearing that.

“So my intelligence is already above average?” he asked.

[ Correct host. ]

Jay couldn’t help feeling a little bit proud of himself after hearing that.

Growing up poor and struggling all his life, nobody had ever really complimented him for being smart before.

The system continued.

[ Next is Agility.

Unlike Intelligence, the Agility stat represents the Host’s physical abilities.

This includes stamina, reflexes, reaction speed, physical strength, flexibility, endurance, and overall body performance.

An average human generally possesses an Agility stat between 7 and 15. ]

Jay slowly nodded in understanding before the final stat explanation appeared.

[ Charisma.

This stat represents the Host’s personal magnetism, charm, attractiveness, confidence, social influence, and overall ability to naturally draw attention and admiration from others.

Higher Charisma allows the Host to influence people more easily and improve social interactions significantly. ]

Jay stared silently at the number beside his charisma stat.

“Damn,” he muttered under his breath.

Even the system was basically calling him socially hopeless.

A faint look of embarrassment appeared on his face.

Honestly though. considering how awkward he usually was around people, especially women, maybe the system wasn’t entirely wrong.

The mechanical voice continued calmly.

[ However, all stats are capable of upgrades. ]

Jay’s eyes lit up immediately.

Now that definitely caught his attention.

“How exactly?” jay asked quickly. "How can it be upgraded.

[ Excellent question, Host.

Thats what the System Points stats exist solely for.

System Points can be used to increase Intelligence, Agility, and Charisma.

Additionally, they are required to unlock advanced system functions and restricted features currently unavailable to the Host yet. ]

Jay’s eyes widened slightly.

“So I can literally upgrade myself?”

[ Correct host. ]

The system’s response came instantly.

Jay leaned back slightly against the wall while processing everything.

This system was becoming more insane the longer he learned more about it.

Not only could he gain endless wealth.

He could also evolve himself beyond normal human limits.

The system continued speaking.

[ For every 10th successful touch, you would be granted System Points. Additionaly, the System will calculate the value of the item that the tenth touch was used for, and multiply it by a 100,000 time's and credit the resulting amount to the your current account.

Think of it as boost from the system for you as the host to climb more faster to wealth." The system added. ]

Jay immediately began calculating in his head.

Two touches per day.

That meant every five days, he would earn System Points along with a massive boost in wealth progression through the system's multiplier. And once he accumulated enough points.

He could eventually increase his Intelligence.

His Strength.

And most importantly, his Charisma.

Jay slowly glanced back at the embarrassingly low number displayed beside the Charisma stat and let out a long sigh.

“Yeah...” he muttered. “I definitely need to fix that one first.”

For the first time that night, the system responded with something other than a cold notification.

[ "Yes host I recommend you do." ]

The added it opinion out of nowhere making Jay to nearly choked on his soda.

“Urh uurh. yeah, thanks for the insight,” Jay said awkwardly after finally recovering from nearly choking on his drink.

[ No problem, Host. ]

Jay shook his head helplessly before continuing with his meal.

A few minutes later, he finally finished everything on the plate, leaving nothing behind except the empty soda bottle.

The meal had completely satisfied him. But surprisingly, instead of lazily tossing the dishes aside like he normally dose after having a long exhausting shift. But instead, this time he actually took the time to clean everything properly.

Maybe it was because his mood was genuinely better tonight.

Or maybe because seeing a stocked kitchen for once made him want to keep the apartment looking decent.

Either way, he quietly carried the plates and pot to the sink before washing them clean one by one.

The sound of running water filled the apartment while the warm scent of cooked food still lingered faintly in the air.

Minutes later, after placing the cleaned dishes aside to dry, Jay stretched his arms upward and let out a long satisfied breath.

“Aham,” he muttered comfortably.

The exhaustion from the insane events of today was finally starting to catch up to him. His body felt heavy and he could barely keep his eyelids fully open.

Not long after, Jay found himself yawning repeatedly while walking back toward the bed.

Without any further thoughts, he collapsed onto the bed and pulled the blanket over himself and just like that. the rest became history.

Morning came sooner than expected.

But unfortunately, it wasn’t sunlight or an alarm clock that woke jay up.

BAMM! BAMM! BAMM!

The loud banging on his apartment door echoed violently through the small room.

“Come out, you good-for-nothing loser! I know you’re in there!”

Jay’s eyes slowly opened in annoyance.

For a few seconds, he simply stared blankly at the ceiling while the aggressive pounding continued nonstop.

BAMM! BAMM! BAMM!

“Huhhh. not again,” Jay muttered tiredly while sitting upright on the bed.

He rubbed his face slowly, still half asleep and honestly. he didn’t even need to guess who it was.

Only one person in this entire building loved screaming insults this early in the morning.

“Open this damn door before I break it down!” the angry voice shouted again from outside.
