Chapter 293

Tessa’s POV

Emmet stared at the results, frowning as he analyzed each and every one of them. I suddenly wasn’t hungry anymore and put my slice of pizza down as I watched him carefully. My stomach was in a complete knot and I was terrified about what he was going to say.

Joseph could sense my anxiety and wrapped his arms around me, as he took waited on the edge of his seat for these results.

“That’s rather interesting,” Emmet murmured more to himself than to us.

“Want to share with us what you found?” Joseph asked, growing impatient with this waiting game.

Emmet looked up at Joseph and then nodded as he looked at me.

“It’s clear in these results that you do in fact have immortal blood,” Emmet explained.

“What does that mean?” I asked, not sure I wanted to know the answer to that.

“If I were to guess, I would say that once your full powers come in at the age of 25, you won’t age any further than that. Like a vampire and any other immortal being, you are not going to age. Killing you would be very difficult, in fact.”

My mouth fell open as I looked at Joseph. His face was unreadable. I was at a loss for words. Did that mean I was actually going to be with Joseph for the rest of eternity? I didn’t need to be a vampire in order to do that.

“I… I’m not going to die?” I asked, looking back at Emmet who was still staring at the results questionably.

“It seems so,” he said in wonder. “I’ve never seen a witch with immortal blood. So, excuse my surprise. But yes, you are immortal, Tessa. You aren’t going to age or die. Once you reach the age of 25, you will be that age for the rest of eternity.”

I looked up at Joseph, tears immediately filling my eyes.

“Joseph, do you know what that means?” I asked, my voice coming out breathy. “We can be together and not worry about me aging. I can be with you for eternity. Both you and Ruby…”

“But what about our child?” Joseph asked, still eyeing Emmet carefully. “Would that mean our child will be immortal too.”

“If our suspicions are correct, then your child will be the Heavenly Light. So, yes. They would have to be immortal as well,” Emmet said.

“They would also be a hybrid. A cross between a vampire and a witch,” Esme further explained. “So, there’s a definite chance that all your children will be immortal. 25 is usually the time that immortals stop aging because that’s the age of full maturity and growth.”

“There’s more to these results if you’d like to hear more,” Emmet said, staring between all of us.

I nodded immediately, grabbing my slice of pizza and biting into it. I was suddenly excited about these results and finding out more about myself. Knowing I wasn’t aging and it would be hard to kill me was just what I needed to hear.

“Well, it seems your blood holds healing qualities as well. Which explains why you were able to heal from your injuries so quickly. But I do believe you’d be able to heal others as well.”

“Let’s test that theory,” Esme said, jumping to her feet.

Before I could ask her what she meant by that, she was rushing out of the room and I could hear the bathroom door opening. I frowned at Emmet, and he looked almost worried as he stared off in the direction Esme had run off to. She returned moments later and my eyes grew large at the razorblade she held in her hands.

She sat beside me on the couch and before I knew what was happening, she was slicing a deep cut into her wrist.

I gasped loudly.

“Esme!” I exclaimed.

“It’s okay,” Esme winced as blood trickled down her forearm and soaked into her shirt. “You can heal me before pass out…”

“I… I don’t know if I can,” I said, my heart hammering against my chest.

“Let her drink some of your blood,” Emmet said, staring at Esme with such shock and hurt that it broke my own heart. “I’m sure there’s a way for you to heal her without having her drink from you. But that’s the fastest way and she’s losing a lot of blood.”

I nodded and grabbed the razor from Esme’s blood-soaked hands. I wiped her blood off the blade with my pants before sliding through my own arm. A beautiful layer of red blood oozed down my arm as I brought it to her lips. She grabbed my arm and drank a bit of my blood before pulling back, wincing at the taste.

We all stared down at her arm with our breaths held, only releasing them when her arm started to transform and the wound immediately started to close.

“Holy shit,” I whispered.

Esme let out the breath she was holding and laughed.

“You’re a healer,” Esme breathed. “That’s awesome. We can work with that. I can help you use that ability without you having to cut yourself every time someone needs to heal.”

I nodded, running my hand down her arm which was still stained with her blood, but there was no trace of a wound.

Meanwhile, Joseph grabbed my arm to check for the wound I had left but when he didn’t see any, he finally let out the breath he was holding.

“You have traces of each element in your blood as well,” Emmet continued. “Which is usually found in those who can control the elements.”

“That makes sense. Her mother was a master in elemental control,” Esme said. “I’m thinking that’s how the tornado came into play earlier today. You were able to control the weather as well which is pretty cool. Only those who are very strong elemental masters can manipulate the weather.”

“Elemental master?” I asked.

“You can manipulate all elements, not just one,” Emmet explained. “Air, water, fire, earth, metal, and spirit.”

“Some of us can only control those elements, but a master can control them all. Being able to control the weather is a big sign that you can control them all because it takes more than one element for weather manipulation.”

I stared down at my hands.

“Are you saying I was the reason for that Tornado?” I asked, my voice dropping to a whisper. “I’m the reason the town got destroyed? I’m the reason Lucias died?”

“Lucias was trying to kill you,” Esme reminded me. “You were acting in self-defense.”

“I didn’t want anyone to die,” I admitted. “Even if he did try to kidnap me and put my life in danger.”

Joseph wrapped an arm around my shoulders and pulled me close to his side, kissing the side of my head gently.

“I would rather him dead than you,” he whispered. “I’m not upset that he is gone. From what I know about him, the world is a better place without that monster.”

“And what about the coven?” I asked, shaking my head at the thought. “Now they have nobody… and that’s my fault. How did I even conjure an entire tornado without realizing it?”

“I’m guessing it had to do with your emotions,” Emmet said. “While you were in that car, you felt like things were out of your control. You were terrified and your powers ran loose with it. Your powers feed off your emotions which is why it’s important to remain calm during high-stress situations because you never know what could be summoned.”

Tears filled my eyes. I wish I had known this before; I would have tried to be calm in that car, despite how much pain I was in. I never wanted to hurt or kill anybody, and I certainly never meant to terrorize an entire town.

I shuddered at the memory.

“I’m going to teach you to control it,” Esme said, grabbing a hold of my hand. “I’m sure there are so much more you are capable of and I promise we are going to figure each and every one of them out. You aren’t alone anymore, Tessa. I’m here and I’d be proud to be your mentor.”

“This is all so much,” I whispered. “I’m so tired.”

“You used a lot of power today, so I imagine that it took a lot of your energy,” Emmet said, as he began to pack up his things. “I think we should call it a night. That was most of what I got from the results. You are a very powerful girl Tessa. My word of advice is to trust Esme. You need a witch in your corner and there’s no better one.”

Esme blushed from the compliment and Emmet grinned at her. He reached into his coat pocket and pulled out a business card, handing it to me.

“This is my number; if you need anything, don’t hesitate to call me. I already put you in my database as my newest patient. Just give me a call and I’ll be here as quickly as I can.”

“Thank you, Emmet,” I said, giving him a small smile. “It means a lot that you were able to come here on short notice and help me.”

“It’s my honor,” Emmet said, zipping his duffel bag and standing to his feet. “I already know this is going to be for the greater good. I’m glad to be a part of this.”

Joseph stood and shook Emmet’s hand.

“And we trust that none of this leaves this house?” Joseph asked, his grip firm as he stared into Emmet’s eyes.

“Of course,” Emmet said, nodding. “You can trust me.”

Joseph nodded and then released Emmet’s hand.

“Thank you,” Joseph said.

“I’ll walk you to the door,” Esme said quickly as she jumped to her feet.

Emmet smiled at her and the two of them disappeared from the room together. I sighed and leaned back on the couch as Joseph joined me. He wrapped me in his arms and bent to kiss my lips. I welcomed his kiss and even deepened it, wanting to be as close to him as possible.

I just needed my fiancé.

“We get to be together for eternity,” I whispered against his lips.

His smile grew wide.

“I know,” he replied as he conquered my lips with his.

Moments later, Esme was rushing back into the room. Her phone was pressed to her cheek and she looked majorly confused and maybe a little worried.

“Calm down, Patty,” she said, meeting my eyes.

I raised my brows.

Patty Davis?

“What do you mean you can’t remember anything??”
