Chapter 10

Gil Roger gently tapped Chu Tian’s backhand. With each tap, Chu Tian could distinctly feel the magic power surging within him, responding to Gil Roger’s movements.

This magical energy originates from the dantian, rises upward, passes through the Tanzhong acupoint, goes around both nipples and the Jianjing acupoint, then converges at the Fengchi acupoint at the back of the head. After that, it flows downward, continuously impacting the Dazhui acupoint.

Chu Simei had originally intended to do it perfunctorily. But when she saw how clogged Gil Roger’s ears were, her usual tendency to be meticulous kicked in. As she cleaned his ears, she muttered, “How long has it been since you had your ears cleaned? There’s practically a whole grocery store in there!”

“It was only once when I left home to go to college in the city that my mom paid for it for me!” Jill Roger mused to herself, relishing the memory in a daze.

“You think everyone under the heavens is your mother, and that everyone has to spoil and indulge you!” Chu Simei was annoyed. She had gone out of her way to clean his ears, and yet he compared her to his own mother!

But what Gil Roger couldn’t stand the most was anyone mentioning his mother. He sat up abruptly, before Chu Simei could even pull out the earpick that was in his ear.

Both Chu Simei and Chu Tian were startled. Chu Simei was worried that the earpick might hurt Gil Roger’s ear. But her worries were completely unnecessary, as soon as Gil Roger sat up, the earpick immediately twisted itself out of his ear.

As for Chu Tian, he was even more furious. Under Gil Roger’s manipulation, that magical energy was on the verge of breaking through the Dazhui point. His old injury was located between the Lingtai point and Dazhui point, specifically at the Shendao point and Shenzhu point. If the Dazhui point were breached by the magical energy, his old illness would be effectively halved!

“Go back to your room!” For the first time in his life, Chu Tian lost his temper with Chu Simei. Monica Bridges, who was standing nearby, was too scared to say anything.

Chu Simei’s eyes were filled with tears as she stood up, struggling to get up. Her legs went numb from sitting in that position for too long. She stumbled, and her chest accidentally bumped into Gil Roger’s forearm.

Gil Roger was utterly captivated. How soft she was! Had he gone too far just now? Seeing Chu Simei’s pitiful, tearful expression, Gil Roger felt deeply guilty.

“Mr. Tang, I was lost in thought!” Jill Roger said apologetically.

But Chu Simei was already strutting up the stairs with her waist swaying. Gil Roger could only stare blankly at her graceful back.

“Master Hoyle, ignore her. I’m the one who’s spoiled her!” Chu Tian said with a laugh, waving his hand.

Dale Wilde, who was standing nearby, could take it no longer. He snorted coldly and said, “Acting like some kind of supernatural being!”

Although he didn’t want to associate with such a person, in Gil Roger’s eyes, it was pitiful enough that someone had only reached the third level of the mortal realm at this age.

“Master Leng, speak with caution!” Of course, Chu Tian didn’t want to offend Dale Wilde. But if he were forced to choose between Gil Roger and Dale Wilde, he would undoubtedly choose Gil Roger without hesitation.

How could Dale Wilde have expected that Chu Tian would stop him just because of some brat? Filled with anger, he immediately stood up and said, “In that case, I’ll take my leave!”

“Wait a moment!” Gil Roger sat up straight and asked Chu Tian, “Did this so-called Master Leng also help you with your healing before?”

Chu Tian hesitated for a moment, but then smiled awkwardly and said, “That’s right. I suffer from a chronic illness, and my own cultivation efforts aren’t very effective. That’s why I ask Master Leng to come and help me with my cultivation every now and then.”

Gil Roger almost spat out in disgust. Two old men practicing “joint cultivation”? What this so-called “joint cultivation” entailed was two people taking off their clothes, standing back to back, and using their energy to help Dale Wilde channel his magical power and break through!

No wonder this old man looks so embarrassed!

“Cold… Master, in your opinion, how many ways are there to treat chronic magical ailments?” Gil Roger asked with a smile, looking at Dale Wilde, who was hunched over and looking pitiful.

When Dale Wilde saw that Gil Roger had come to test him, he snorted and said, “You mere brat, if you’re seeking my advice, I won’t hesitate to teach you. But for ordinary magical injuries, one simply uses herbal remedies and metals as conduits, allowing blood to flow and energy to circulate, thereby resolving stagnation…”

“That’s not bad,” said Gil Roger, nodding. “It’s the most basic form of treatment. Any ‘barefoot doctor’ could do it!”

Leng Heng frowned and continued, “The second level involves cultivating both magic power and physical strength. Two people with equal skill levels use their energy to push each other forward, thereby breaking through barriers in their cultivation!”

“That’s a pretty good idea. But the real key is having sufficient skill to pull it off!” Gil Roger replied with a smile. However, there was more to his words. He meant that Chu Tian’s old injuries just wouldn’t heal because his own skills weren’t even on par with Chu Tian’s!

Dale Wilde’s face turned red, and he continued, “As for the third level, I’ve only heard of it; I’ve never seen it with my own eyes. It involves those with great martial arts skills using their energy to boost their efforts and overcome obstacles!”

Gil Roger stopped talking and stood up. He ordered, “Bring the prepared medicinal herbs here after boiling them in water!”

Chu Tian waved his hand. His servants had already gone ahead to make preparations. Gil Roger still smiled as he said to Dale Wilde, “You may go now.”

Dale Wilde was utterly embarrassed. He wondered to himself for a long time: Was he just doing this for his own amusement? Judging by his confident demeanor, it seemed like he truly believed he could heal Chu Tian.

The old man snorted and said, “If you tell me to leave, I won’t. I’m going to expose your true colors as a little beggar right here in front of everyone!”

Dale Wilde sat there sulking by himself, while Chu Tian carefully stayed by Jill Rogers’ side the entire time.

After a while, a servant brought over the boiling potion in a copper basin and placed it on the coffee table.

“Old Master Tang, please take off your outer clothes!” As Gil Roger spoke, he plunged his hands into the scalding hot water, amidst the astonished expressions of those around him.

The herbal decoction in the basin was still bubbling, but it seemed to be decreasing in volume by the moment. Could it be that the boy’s hands were sucking the liquid into his body?

Chu Tian took off her coat as instructed. Gil Roger took a deep breath, placed his palms face up, and channeled energy from his dantian. Chu Tian and Dale Wilde stared in amazement as a ball of gas, resembling a fireball, spun rapidly between Gil Roger’s palms.

“Hunyuan Taiji!” The two old men exclaimed almost simultaneously.

Elementalists in the mortal world are divided into five levels: Taiyi, Taishi, Taichu, Taisu, and Taiji. Chu Tian is a Taiji-level elementalist, while Dale Wilde is merely a Taichu-level elementalist.

The ultimate realm of an Element Master is the Hunyuan state, which lies beyond the Taiji. Hunyuan refers to the external manifestation of internal energy. However, in all my years of study, I’ve never heard of anyone having achieved this realm.

Who would have thought that this young man, with tattered clothes and slippers whose edges were torn apart, resembling a beggar, would inadvertently demonstrate the skills of Hunyuan Taiji?

Jill Roger encountered no interference at all. She raised her palms to her chest, then suddenly lowered them. She extended her right index and middle fingers and gently pressed them on Chu Tian’s Tanzhong acupoint.

The magical energy within Chu Tian was being stimulated by Gil Roger, and it was gushing out continuously from his Danzhong acupoint. At that moment, however, Gil Roger used his magic to target Chu Tian’s Danzhong acupoint instead.

“Uh…” Chu Tian couldn’t help but let out a breath. At the same time, a scorching heat surged through his meridians throughout his body…
