Chapter 3

“Kid, come here!” Matt Blower rubbed his bald head. The fire phoenix on his head was so much rubbed that it became deformed, which made Jill Roger burst into laughter.

“You still have the nerve to laugh? You broke my brother’s hand. What the hell do you think should be done about this?” Matt Blower slumped back in his seat.

Gil Roger was really worried about him. There were no chairs or sofas behind him. Was he going to just sit down on the floor?

It seems I was overthinking things. Immediately behind Matt Blower, one of his henchmen rushed forward and quickly knelt down behind him.

Damn, that’s really awesome!

“I’m not used to talking to people with my head up!” Matt Blower stretched out his hand, and immediately one of his men handed him a thick cigar. Another man knelt down to light it for him.

But…

Gil Roger ignored him completely. Instead, he went over to the sofa, sat down, grabbed a beer, opened it, and began drinking leisurely.

The most frustrating thing about trying to be cool is when no one pays any attention to you at all.

Matt Blower had no choice but to get up, walk over to Jill Roger, and sit down again. His lackey behind him pouted in frustration, muttering, “Boss, I deserve double my usual fee tonight!”

“Kid, do you know who I am? Do you know what this is?” Matt Bloor asked, pointing at the fire phoenix above his head.

It’s said that Matt Bloor terrorized the Irish streets since he was a teenager. For each opponent he seriously injured, he would tattoo a mark on his head. Eventually, he ended up with a tattoo of a phoenix.

“I’ve never seen anyone get a pheasant tattoo on their head before. What’s the meaning behind that?” Jill Roger asked jokingly, while reaching out to take a cigarette from Lily Roger’s cigarette pack and putting it to her lips.

Turning to look at Lily Rogers, her calm gaze made Lily Rogers shiver. Unconsciously, she stepped forward to light it for him.

Blowing out a puff of smoke, Gil Roger pointed at Matt Blower with his cigarette and said, “You must’ve spent a lot of money to pull off this display!”

Irrelevant answer. Matt Blower’s eyebrows furrowed slightly. It seems I need to teach this kid a lesson. Otherwise, he’ll never realize that Lord Ma has three eyes.

Suddenly, a tiger’s claw swung toward Gil Roger’s throat.

Gil Roger had long noticed that Matt Blower’s eyes sparkled with intensity, and his temples were slightly bulging. These were distinct physical traits of someone who had reached the pinnacle of external martial arts training.

Matt Blower was fast, but Gil Roger was even faster. With a cigarette still between his right index and middle fingers, Gil Roger simply used his thumb to block Matt Blower’s fist.

Turn the cigarette butt around!

“Ah…” Matt Blower let out a painful cry. A blister had formed on the back of his hand from the cigarette butt.

“Kid, you’re seeking death! If you don’t kneel and beg for mercy today, I’m not Matt Bloor!” With a roar, he stood up and delivered a sweeping kick to Gil Roger’s neck.

If that kick hit its target, Gil Roger would either suffer a broken neck or die on the spot…

Gil Roger still held a beer can in his left hand. He raised his hand slightly and took a sip of beer.

“Ah…” Everyone around let out a gasp, as Matt Boller’s kick came completely unexpectedly.

Especially Lily Rogers. She even suspected that Jill Rogers would definitely die at home today.

“Bang!”

“Ah!”

A loud noise, a scream.

The sound came from between Matt Bloer’s calf and Gil Roger’s forearm. Gil Roger raised his forearm to drink his beer, and Matt Bloer kicked him right on the forearm.

The screams came from Matt Blower, because Gil Roger remained unharmed, not even shaking. After taking a gulp of beer, Gil Roger asked calmly, “If I refuse to kneel and beg for mercy, do you plan to change my name to Cheng Sanhuo?”

Matt Blower rubbed his lower legs nervously, his eyes filled with terror. Was that a human arm? He thought he’d seen it tied to a pillar.

Looking back at his group of inexplicable underlings, Matt Bloor knew he couldn’t afford to lose face in front of them.

Enduring the pain, a Black Tiger Heart-Thief strike was delivered to Gil Roger’s chest.

A glint flashed in Jill Roger’s eyes. She hadn’t intended to make things difficult for Matt Blower. By taking his kick, she was simply trying to warn him. Unfortunately, this guy had no sense of what was right or wrong!

Holding the beer can in his hand, he rushed straight at Matt Blower’s fist. With a “smack!”, their fists collided. Matt Blower let out another painful cry.

He could almost hear the sound of four fingers breaking. Yet, Gil Roger across from him remained completely unperturbed. In fact, not even the beer can in his hand changed in any way.

“Brother… I mean, what kind of person are you exactly? Why have I never heard of you before?” Matt Blower’s forehead was covered in sweatdrops the size of beans.

“Aren’t I just that good-for-nothing son-in-law of the Roger family?” Gil Roger smiled faintly. He crushed the empty beer can and tossed it into the trash can. Then, he took a puff from the cigarette in his right hand.

Matt Blower held his right hand with his left. His entire right side trembled slightly due to the intense pain.

“I’ve just developed a habit of not liking to talk to people with my face up.” Jill Roger crossed her legs and pointed at Matt Blower with her cigarette.

“A knight can be killed, but not…” Before he could even finish the word “humiliated,” Matt Blower fell to his knees before Gil Roger. He barely noticed how Gil Roger had struck him.

When Matt Blower saw the cigarette butt by his leg, fear reached its peak. He had actually been hit in the knee by a cigarette butt. How could someone do such a thing? Was this even a human being?

“Brother, you might not care about my face, but you’ve surely heard of the Bridges family, right?” Matt Blower said, each word coming out with great difficulty due to the pain.

The Bridgers family, Ireland’s richest family, has its head of household, Joey Bridgers, who is known as Ireland’s “Duke of Bridgers”. Even the powerful Rogers family pales in comparison to the Bridgers.

“The Bridgers family is in the sugar business, right? Do they produce granulated sugar or fruit candies?” Jill Rogers tilted her head as she looked at Matt Boller, then draped her leg over his shoulder and asked.

“Kid, if you dared to say such things in the Bridgers family, you’d be reduced to a mess of flesh by now!” Matt Blower snorted coldly.

Jill Roger stuck out her tongue and said, “So scary! You’ve made my heart race. Does the Bridges family still make fruit jellies? Otherwise, why would they turn me into a mess of flesh?”

That’s a bit too deliberate an approach!

“I don’t care if you’re pretending to be crazy or not. I’m now the bodyguard of the Bridgers family. I must report this to Lord Chu. Even if I fail, I must not bring shame to the Bridgers family’s name!” Sweat beads formed on Matt Blower’s forehead, flowing down his chin in tiny streams.

This is the Bridgess family trying to blackmail me. Jill Roger pulled her leg back and stood up, boredly saying, “Whatever. I don’t know anything about the Bridgess family. You can leave now. I still haven’t finished wiping my floor!”

After saying that, he turned and walked upstairs. The blond-haired man immediately stepped forward to help his brother up. Matt Blower snapped angrily, “Let’s go!”
