Chapter 4 7 years later
“Mummy, we are off to the airport”. Amelia smiled and said as she placed a warm kiss on her mother’s cheeks.
Looking at her daughter, son and grandson, Thelma gave a blissful smile and commented, “you all are looking great”.
Immediately, Fabian, Amelia's son rushed to Thelma and hugged her tightly as he said, “Grandma, are you sure you don’t want to come with us?”.
“Yes mum, are you really sure?”. Andrew asked his mother.
Staring at them both, Thelma chuckled and replied to them, “I’m really ok boys”.
Saying this, she almost burst out in a laughter when she saw them pout their lips at the same time.
Shaking her head, she stared at Amelia for help, but she just shrugged her shoulders and pretended to be doing something else, making her mother sighed with gritted teeth.
Not having any other choice, Thelma smiled and said to them, “Alright boys, I’m not staying here long. So I promise to join you all shortly”.
As she said this, she stared at them and when she saw their reaction, she took a deep breath and stared at Amelia who was already giggling.
Watching her mother stare at her, she knew she was a little bit angry. So she smiled and said to her brother, “Andrew, take Fabian to the car”.
“Ok sis”. Andrew said and signaled to Fabian who quickly came down from Thelma embrace and walked towards Andrew, who held him and left the house, leaving only his sister and mum.
Now that they were alone, Thelma sighed and said, “Amelia, are you sure about going back to the country? You know, you are doing well already”.
She asked, because she could still remember the pain in her daughter's voice when she finally told her everything that happened, especially when she found out that she was pregnant with Fabian.
Knowing her mother was just worried about her, Amelia chuckled softly.
So walking to her mother, she sat beside her and said, “mum, you worry too much. It’s been seven years, and it’s all in the past. Besides I can’t just abandon my birth country just because I don’t want to run into him again”. She said to her mother.
“I know, but I’m really worried. What if he tries to take Fabian from you? As soon as Thelma said this, Amelia stood up abruptly and said coldly, “He wouldn’t dare. Mum, remember we are divorced, so I have nothing to do with him, neither did Fabian do”.
“Alright then. You all have a flight to catch, so you need to start going”. Thelma smiled and said.
Nodding her head, Amelia pecked her cheeks again and said, “I will call you when I arrive, so please take care of yourself”.
“Alright princess”. Thelma said, and with that, Amelia nodded her head curtly and left the house.
Outside, she met her five year old son Fabian on her fourteen year old brother as he carried him around, making him laugh.
Shaking her head, she said with a slight stern voice, "Alright, enough of the play time, we need to go”.
Andrew quickly dropped Fabian as they both walked to the backseat of the car and sat down, while Amelia sat at the passenger chair and signaled the driver to start the engine.
As the drive began, Amelia was lost in thought.
Honestly, just like her mother said, she was really doing well here and even had enough money that could sustain her and her family for years, but she felt like she was missing a lot that was why she accepted the job transfer back to her country, even though she knew she could reject it if she wanted to.
And truth be told, she didn't regret her choice. Just as she was still in her thoughts, she heard the driver saying they had arrived, which jolted her back to reality.
Taking a deep breath, she replied to the driver, “okay”. And came down from the car as the boys quickly followed suit and also came down.
They didn’t take much load because Amelia felt they could replace it when they got back to the country.
So taking the two luggage’s from the boot, Fabian and Andrew said their goodbyes to the driver who smiled and waved at them as they entered the boarding site.
It wasn’t even ten minutes until they came and they were already seated at their designated chair, ready to take off.
Seeing this, Andrew smiled because this was the second time entering a flight, so he was not really scared. But Fabian was not having it. He held his mother tight making her giggled and when he stared at her, he was speechless.
So with an accusing look, he pointed out and asked, "How could you laugh at me mum?”
Knowing her son too well, she knew he was sulking. So she quickly denied and responded, “of course not baby, I just thought of something which made me giggle”.
Although he knew his mother was lying, he still felt satisfied with her answer. So with a toothy grin, he said to her, “Ok mummy”.
Watching all this, Andrew facepalmed himself and thought that his nephew was really dumb.
Just then, tgey heard the announcement from the pilot saying it was time to take off.
So Amelia held her baby tight and only released him when everything was stable.
………
After Amelia left the country seven years ago, Xavier’s company rose to third rank and he became the most feared and youngest billionaire.
Right now, he is currently in his office which is on the seventeen floor and the last building.
Going through the documents in his hands, his brows furrowed with an irritated look.
Immediately, he pressed a number on his telephone and called the manager of the planning team.
As soon as the call was picked, he didn't go around the bush and simply said coldly, “You are fired”.
Without waiting for his reply, he disconnected the call and tore up the document he was holding with gritted teeth.
Meanwhile, the manager felt his world collapsed. He knew he did wrong, but he never knew Xavier was going to notice amidst all the documents.
So without saying anything and ignoring his junior’s piercing look, he quietly packed his things and left the office much to the amusement of others as tgey all wondered what he did wrong.
As for Xavier, he was still busy reviewing other documents when his phone suddenly vibrated, making him a little bit distracted.
Taking a deep breath, he dropped what he was doing and picked his phone on the table to check who the caller was.
Seeing that it was Allison, he grunted and turned off his phone. Right now, he was not in the mood to cater to her disturbance.
So after turning off his phone, he continued working until he received a call from his work phone which finally made him pause.
Taking out the phone from the drawer, Xavier saw that it was his friend so he picked it up and said, “Whatsup up man?”. As he continued what he was doing.
“I’m good bro”. His friend said and continued, “Miss Amelia Davies just boarded the plane. So she will join the company when she settles down in the country”.
Immediately Xavier heard the word Amelia, he paused what he was doing and leaned back on his chair as he felt lost.
He wasn’t sure if his friend was talking about his Amelia or a random person.
“My Amelia?” He asked himself softly and scoffed as he murmured, “you don’t even deserve her”. He whispered and closed his eyes in despair.
Just then, he heard his friend's voice, which made him sighed and replied to him, “Ok man”.
With that, he disconnected the call, making his friend speechless.
“Cold brute”. His friend muttered angrily and went to his wife who was already giving him a dagger look.
