Chapter 3
Jane's POV
“Phone Rings again!”
When I checked who was calling, it was actually my father this time.
“Hello, father.” I said, after picking his call.
“Daughter! The Thomson's family just reached out to me that you agreed to marry their son and not only that, your marriage is tomorrow. Wow! I am excited. Thanks for making me proud.” He expressed his joy.
I was shocked and bewildered. “What? When did…” Before I could finish, my father interjected.
“You don't have to say anything. Just go make preparations for your wedding. Congratulations, daughter.” After his words, he ended the call.
“What?” I scoffed, trying my best to wrap my head around what happened. As it sank in. “Is this some kind of a joke or prank?” “I don't get it.”
My brain couldn't process it because it doesn't even look like reality. ‘Who plans a wedding without the awareness of the bride? I don't really understand.’
I had to put a call across to him to end this madness. Immediately his phone rang; he picked up the call as if he had been expecting it.
“Hello, my bride-to-be.” He remarked with an air of excitement.
“Are you okay? Who the hell is your bride? I don't remember planning a wedding with you.” I snapped.
“Calm your nerves, Jane. We are going to get married tomorrow. Prepare yourself for it.” He said it as if it wasn't a big deal.
“We are not getting married tomorrow, Hades. I am going to make sure that the wedding doesn't hold.” I spoke, flexing my muscles.
“It's your choice to fight, Jane. All I know is that we are getting married.” He emphasised and ended the call.
‘What arrogance and a lot of boldness!’ ‘I need to speak with my father about this.’
I had to walk out of the house while Smith conveyed me to my father's house.
Getting there, my father was under a coconut tree enjoying himself.
“Father, I need to speak to you urgently.” I spoke with a rigid voice.
He shot a deadly glare at my face. “What do you urgently want to speak about?” He asked.
“I did not approve of the marriage whatsoever. We can't have that wedding.”
My father glared at me from my head to my toe. “I know you didn’t approve of it, daughter. And I do not care about your feelings about the arrangement. Start preparing and do not mess things up.” He snapped at me, stood on his feet, and walked off.
My father wouldn't listen to me because of what he stands to gain from this. But my life would be a mess if I married Hades. He is no good man?
I will have to publicly reject him tomorrow. That only will be a humiliation he will stand to regret for the rest of his life.

The next day.
My car had been magnificently designed. Hades sent an expensive wedding gown and wedding ring this morning that I just received.
I should be the happiest woman on earth? But no, my heart was in sorrow. I took my bath and dressed up in the bride's attire.
‘I am going to ruin my day!’ I said to myself, not minding the consequences that would come after it.
The makeup artist arrived in no time and had my face doodled up.
Looking at the mirror, I blushed merely seeing my own face.
After they had left, I walked out of the house with my bridesmaids as they accompanied me to the wedding venue.
On getting there, everyone was seated. The hall was magnificently decorated, and I could only drool on its beauty. But I was shocked with the personality I beheld as I walked to the altar.
‘What is the president doing at my wedding?’ My heart rang out with panic, making it very difficult for me to decide what to do today.
Getting to the altar, Hades looked at me with a half-smile. I could read the excitement on his face.
That excitement wasn't because he loved me. I knew it was because he was getting what he wanted.
Even though there were dignitaries, I made the decision to disappoint Hades. Because this wedding would mar my entire life.
“Mr. Thomson Hades, do you take Jane as your lawfully wedded wife in health and in sickness until you part?” The wedding was preceded by the pastor asking that question.
“Yes, I do.” Hades responded sharply. I knew he had waited for this day because I gave him a hard time.
“Miss Jane Grande, do you take Thomas Hades as your lawfully wedded husband in health and in sickness until death do you part?”
Hearing the pastor speak audibly, my heart raced against my chest. The plan I had in my head kicked in the more as I beheld his face.
Hades' face changed, beholding the silence. “Do not try anything stupid.” He whispered.
I could hear him audibly as my eyes turned cold. ‘Who the hell does he think he is? Did he think he could rule my life?’ In fierce anger, I forced myself to speak.
“No. I do not want him as my husband.” Stating that, I rushed off the altar.
Everyone froze in shock, including Hades. I knew he didn't expect the movement.
I ruined my day with my hand, and I didn't regret my actions. I rushed into my car with my wedding dress and started the car engine.
Before my parents or any other person could interfere, I had already gotten home, removed my dress, and shut my door.
My heart began to calm down when I sat on the bed with thoughts about the consequences of my action.
‘I need to take fast action before this ruins my business entirely.’ Having that thought in my head, I picked up my phone and typed a clear public notice..
When I was done, I released it to the media.
“The CEO of Global enterprises in the person of Miss Jane announces that they have publicly severed partnership with Grande’s co-operations. Miss Jane will return all investment done by the company and all shares that belong to Grande's cooperation as the company has decided to stand on its own as from now on.”
