Chapter 2 2

Chapter 2

...

A few moments earlier, before Luna suddenly found herself on the podium, about to be auctioned off ...

...

“You’re fat, and now you’re a criminal too?! Do you think I’d still want to be with someone like you? Trash like you should just die!” Sean’s words still echoed in Luna’s mind.

The cruelest insult she had ever received—two years ago, when Luna was sentenced to two years in prison.

No one believed her when she said she hadn’t committed that crime.

There was no way she could have killed her own grandmother.

In the end, Luna was declared guilty despite the lack of evidence. The only reason was that she had been with her grandmother the entire day, and when her grandmother died from food poisoning, Luna became the main suspect.

“I was definitely framed. I’ll make all of you pay!”

Luna Sharon glared at her reflection in the car window.

The girl who had once been overweight had now turned into a stunning and slender young woman.

Who would have thought that the harsh life in prison would change her into someone this beautiful?

“Miss, we’ve arrived.”

The taxi that had brought her from the detention facility had stopped in front of her house—a house that could be considered luxurious, because Luna was originally born into a wealthy family.

“Finally, I’m home. I missed my room so much!”

Luna ran toward the gate of the house. She couldn’t wait to take a bath and rest for a while.

After that, she planned to visit her grandmother’s grave—and also the graves of her parents.

Yes, Luna Sharon could be considered an orphan.

Her mother had passed away when she was still little, while her father had died three years ago after his health deteriorated.

But before her father died, he had remarried.

Because of that, Luna had a stepmother and a stepsister—though she had never acknowledged them as family.

And not without reason.

Luna always felt that her stepmother was cunning. That woman often set traps for her so her father would scold her.

“Miss Luna?”

One of the maids looked shocked when she saw Luna entering the house. The girl who had once been chubby had become so slender—and unbelievably beautiful.

“How are you, Aunt Jil? Why do you look so shocked? You look like you’ve just seen a ghost.”

Luna spoke while walking toward her room. But before Aunt Jil could respond, her stepmother suddenly came down the stairs and froze in surprise when she saw Luna standing there.

“Since when did you get out of prison?”

“What are you doing here?”

Debora shouted at Luna. She looked glamorous, as if she was about to leave for a social gathering.

Luna didn’t want to waste her energy responding. She simply wanted to go to her room, but—

“Hey, criminal! I’m talking to you! Why are you here? How dare you come back to this house?!”

Debora shouted again, her eyes bulging with anger. She clearly had no intention of letting Luna return to this house.

Hearing that, Luna finally lost her patience.

She stopped walking and looked at her stepmother sharply.

“This is my house. Of course I have the right to come back here.”

“So stop acting like you own this place. The one who should leave is you!” Luna shouted, refusing to be chased out of her own home.

“Heh, you criminal. Do you think this is still your house? This house belongs to me now, you idiot!”

“And I refuse to let a criminal step inside my house!”

“SECURITY! DRAG HER OUT! I ALREADY TOLD YOU NEVER TO LET HER INTO THIS HOUSE!” Debora shouted with her hands on her hips.

The security guards who had been called by Aunt Jil earlier immediately looked frightened and quickly dragged Luna out of the house.

Luna was naturally shocked.

What did Debora mean—this house belonged to her now?

What had happened during the two years Luna had been imprisoned?

Something was wrong…

“Forgive us, Miss, but you must leave this house,” one of the guards said while dragging Luna toward the gate.

“What are you doing? Let go of me!”

“How dare you! This is my house! I am the legitimate daughter of Jeremy Thomas. They are nothing! So don’t you dare throw me out of my own home!” Luna shouted, struggling fiercely.

But her efforts were useless. She didn’t have enough strength to break free.

“Mom, why is it so noisy?”

“Who is that?” Diana’s lazy voice echoed through the house.

She looked beautiful today because she was about to go on a date with her husband.

While holding her husband’s arm, they walked toward the staircase. From there, she could see the source of the commotion.

Diana’s eyes widened for a moment when she saw her stepsister Luna being dragged by the guards.

Her appearance was completely different.

She had become incredibly beautiful and slender.

‘Since when did she become that beautiful?’ Diana grumbled inwardly.

Then she immediately turned to look at her husband, who also looked surprised by what he saw downstairs.

“Luna?” he whispered reflexively.

He had seen Luna—his ex-girlfriend, the woman he had abandoned two years ago.

“SEAN! YOU BASTARD!”

“YOU!!”

It wasn’t only Sean and Diana who were shocked.

Luna was also stunned when she saw her stepsister affectionately holding hands with her former boyfriend—Sean.

Luna was not a foolish girl, all of these coincidences made her certain that she had been framed.

...

But before Luna could do anything, the two security guards who had been called immediately dragged her away.

“Let go of me! How dare you!”

Luna screamed at the top of her lungs. She tried to struggle, but her strength was nothing compared to the guards who had been ordered by her stepmother to throw her out.

With ease, Luna was dragged outside the gate.

“We’re sorry, Miss. It would be better if you just leave. We don’t want to hurt you.”

“If you remain around this house, we will call the police to arrest you.” The security guards spoke firmly before closing the gate.

They left Luna standing outside—still in shock from everything that had just happened. The fact that she had seen Sean inside was proof enough.

It was clearly a conspiracy between her stepmother, her stepsister, and Sean. And her grandmother’s death must have something to do with all of them.

Luna was certain of it.

But right now, she felt powerless.

Her stepmother had easily driven her out of the house that should have been hers, which meant the ownership of the house had probably already been transferred to Debora’s name.

“DAMN IT!” Luna was furious. Her body trembled with rage as she clenched her fists, her breathing turning tight.

She had nowhere to go except this house, and if she caused another scene, she would end up dealing with the police.

Luna could not allow that to happen.

...

Filled with anger, disappointment, and shock, Luna walked without direction. Tears would not even fall from her eyes. She could not think clearly.

What step should she take now? Surely no one would believe her—after all, she now carried the label of a former prisoner.

Without realizing it, Luna had walked for a long time.

When she finally stopped, she found herself at her parents’ cemetery.

The place was cool and shaded. As soon as she arrived, a gentle breeze brushed against her face, as if her father and mother were welcoming her.

Drip…

At that moment, her tears finally began to fall.

Luna ran into the cemetery area and hurried toward the graves of her father and mother.

“Dad… Mom…”

“Grandpa… Grandma…” Luna cried bitterly.

Her family had all been buried in the same place, so Luna finally felt as though she had returned to where she truly belonged.

“What should i do now?” Luna wept in despair. She truly didn’t know what she should do.

After being released from prison, the reality of life had struck her harshly.

The wind blew gently again.

The flowering tree that shaded her family’s graves shed its blossoms onto the green grass, as if symbolizing that Luna’s family was crying for her too.

“Ahhh… this is all because Dad remarried! Dad, you see it now, don’t you? That woman is evil! Because you remarried, your daughter is about to become a homeless person…”

Luna cried even harder.

She was still blaming her father for marrying again—especially to such a wicked woman as her stepmother.

“Waaah…”

“Mom, please scold Dad over there, okay?” Luna curled up and closed her eyes.

She wanted to stay here as long as possible. She wanted to cry and pour out everything in her heart.

...

Meanwhile, somewhere else...

“You must accept this arranged marriage. You must produce an heir to continue the Grayson bloodline!”

An elderly man who still looked imposing spoke to his son inside a magnificent room that felt cold, its atmosphere suffocating.

“Heh!”

“Aren't you ashamed saying that? I refuse to accept the arranged marriage you set up. If it’s about continuing the Grayson bloodline, then you should do it yourself with that new wife of yours!”

Matthias Grayson snapped.

The blue-eyed man stood tall at 193 cm, with a powerful build. His sharp jawline and strikingly handsome features looked like the finest sculpture ever carved.

Matthias glanced mockingly toward his father’s side, where the man’s young wife was sitting.

The wife his father had just married again, the woman was only three years older than Matthias.

Her name was Hera. She was thirty-two years old, while Matthias was twenty-nine, the thought alone disgusted Matthias.

“MATTHIAS! WATCH YOUR MOUTH!”

Morgan Grayson, Matthias’s father, looked furious. He shouted at Matthias, making the atmosphere in the room grow even more heated.

At that moment, Matthias stood up immediately and looked at his father with his chin raised.

“Stop talking to me as if you’re a good father. I will handle my own life!”

“This arranged marriage you set up out of your greed—I will never agree to it!” Matthias shouted with an expression full of rage.

Without waiting for his father’s response, he simply turned and left, his long legs carried him quickly out of the room.

“An heir? Even if I had to produce one, I would never do it with that woman!” Matthias growled as he immediately contacted his assistant.

He was furious, he could not accept that his father still insisted on forcing that hateful arranged marriage.

“Frank, arrange a place for me. I’m going to that auction!” Matthias said as soon as Frankenstein—his assistant—picked up the call.

“Yes, Sir.” Frankenstein replied before the call ended shortly afterward.

That night, there would indeed be an auction held by the elite.

Originally, Matthias had no intention of attending it, but because his mood was so terrible, he wanted to distract himself by going there.

....

Before long, night had fallen.

Luna, who was already hungry and exhausted, slowly stood up.

For now, she decided she would go to the house of her distant uncle.

She had no phone and no money, so the only place she could possibly go was that relative’s house, even though Luna had no idea whether they would accept her or not.

With slow steps, Luna clenched her fists tightly, she would definitely take revenge on Debora, Diana, and Sean.

“I’m sure you all had something to do with Grandma’s death. I’m certain you’re the ones who put me in prison!”

“I won’t let you take over my father’s wealth and live happily. I will make you pay!” Luna muttered fiercely.

She trusted her instincts completely. No matter what it took, she would uncover the truth.

At that moment—almost as if fate had already decided it, a group of men inside a black car noticed Luna walking alone along the sidewalk.

Her beauty instantly captivated them, and just like that, they found their target for the night.

“She’s stunning. She’ll sell well at tonight’s auction—especially since the boss is looking for a young, beautiful woman to auction.”

“What a stroke of luck!” One of them exclaimed before stopping the car.

At that moment, Luna—still filled with anger and thoughts of revenge—could not react in time when a pair of hands suddenly covered her mouth with a handkerchief soaked in anesthetic.

“Ah!” Luna screamed briefly.

But then her vision blurred.
