My steps stalled for a split second—then I moved faster.

My assistant ran up, face drained.

“Mr. Henry… Ms. Rory, she—”

“Where is she?” I cut him off.

His throat tightened.

“Outside.”

I followed his gesture.

A black convoy was lined up at the base of the steps, polished like fresh oil.
