Chapter 3 Elizabeth meets Keith Connard

Elizabeth had been dreading work as of late because she had chosen to work there to learn from the best, instead she was doing, at best, busy work. She was so unhappy that she finally decided to apply to other jobs, ones that would actually gain her some real world experience and let her learn. She applied to many jobs like paralegal and entry level positions for a young lawyer just starting out. She never heard anything back so she dragged herself to the Connard law firm every day to earn a pay check. Due to her unhappiness she had been quite grumpy at work and her co-workers very quickly started to notice and soon she had the reputation of being the office bitch. However, Elizabeth did not care because in her mind the job was temporary and as soon as she found a better one she would be out of there so it did not matter.

Today was different though, today she was in a good mood because, she was finally going to sleep with Paul and she could not wait. She felt like she had denied herself and Paul long enough. She knew Paul would be so ecstatic to finally be getting in there. She said Good Morning to everyone she walked by at work, nobody said Good Morning back to her because they were all trying to pick their jaws up off the floor. Her co-workers were in shock at how chipper she was Elizabeth ignored them.

It was noon now, and Elizabeth was getting ready to go out for lunch when Grace walked up to her desk.

“Good afternoon Grace.” Elizabeth said.

“OK a couple of things first, stop being so nice you are freaking everybody out” Elizabeth chuckled at that, Grace ignored her “Second Keith is coming in this afternoon.”

“Holy crap, really? That guy actually exists?” Elizabeth asked joking around pretending to be shocked.

“Anyway, he is coming in this afternoon he needs access to the files for a case he is working on, so I need you on your best behaviour, no grunting, or mumbling under your breath. Basically do not be the moody bitch you’ve been. Keith likes a certain atmosphere around him.” Grace stated.

“Aye aye; Captain.” Elizabeth sarcastically said “This actually happened on the best day, cause I am actually in a good mood today.” Elizabeth added seriously.

“That’s great” Grace responded uninterested. “Remember positive atmosphere.” Grace walked away from Elizabeth back to her desk.

Elizabeth stayed at her desk now a little nervous she had been working for this man for months now and had never seen his face before. She heard rumours from some gossipy girls around the office; they all said he was the best looking man they had ever seen. They also said some more raunchy things about him; however Elizabeth did not want to look at him that way. For Elizabeth Keith was only to serve as a mentor and a boss. Now that he was going to be in the office she was hoping she would be given a little more responsibility.

Elizabeth was sitting at her desk wondering about her boss and her future there for so long she had completely forgotten to eat lunch. When she realized that she had not yet eaten lunch she went to get up and go to the break room, but sat back down when she noticed a flurry of people. She immediately thought to herself ‘Oh shoot the boss must be here now’ So she sat back down and acted like she was doing her work.

As she was sitting at her desk everyone was running around like crazy acting like they were more busy than they were. Grace was getting everything clean, and running in and out of the kitchen Elizabeth assumed it was to get food for Keith. Elizabeth decided to look at her desk away from everybody’s crazy. Staring down at her desk was like the calm in the storm. Suddenly everything went quiet and Elizabeth heard footsteps in front of her getting louder as they approached her. Suddenly there was a very tall shadow beside her, she looked up and saw him.

He was a very tall and handsome man; Elizabeth immediately realized that everything she had heard about him was true. He had maybe the most beautiful face she had ever seen on a man. He stopped beside her and was staring down at her. Elizabeth looked past him and saw Grace standing behind him. Grace was giving a look to Elizabeth indicating to her that she should be nice and create that positive atmosphere for Keith. Truly scared of Grace Elizabeth looked at Keith and awkwardly smiled at him as he stared down at her.

Keith stayed there staring at her for a full minute; it was one of the most awkward minutes of Elizabeth’s life. Elizabeth wondered if she should say something but she could not come up with anything intelligent to utter. So she stayed there with that stupid smile on her face. Finally Keith walked into his office with Grace trailing behind him.

Keith went into his office and sat down at his desk, he then glanced up at Grace and calmly asked “Who’s that? “.

“That is Elizabeth, she is your assistant.” answered Grace shakily.

“Elizabeth what?” asked Keith.

“Oh I  ... don’t know” Grace stuttered the words out.

“Find out.” Keith demanded of her.

“Yes sir, is there anything else?” Grace asked.

“No” Keith answered.

Grace turned to walk back to her desk “Actually find out everything you can about her” Keith interjected.

“Yes sir” Grace said irritated.

She left the office and snarled at Elizabeth as she passed her desk. Elizabeth felt as though she had created the positive atmosphere Grace demanded of her so she was surprised at Grace’s anger toward her. She felt awkward but she never stopped smiling, why would Grace be mad at her she wondered. She decided to just put it out of her mind because it did not matter, and it would only bring her down.

Elizabeth decided to put all negative energy out of her mind, and get her work done as fast as possible. She thought that if she did her work quickly enough she would be able to leave early, which she really wanted to do. Even more so today. She went through her to do list as quickly as possible and she succeeded in getting done early, in fact a lot earlier then she had thought she would. She packed her stuff up and was getting ready to leave when Grace came up to her.

Grace asked “Where are you going?”

“You’re finished all your work?” asked Grace.

“Yea.” replied Elizabeth excitedly.

“I am finished my work so I was going to go home now.” answered Elizabeth.

“Alright, have a good night.” replied Grace, half-heartedly.

“Thank you, you too.” Elizabeth answered.

Elizabeth was about to leave, when Keith called her name. She looked back at him surprised he knew her name, and even more surprised that he was using it.

Elizabeth looked over at Grace who was looking at her like she was an idiot. So Elizabeth turned back toward Keith, who was smiling in amusement. He gestures with his finger for Elizabeth to go into his office. Elizabeth was surprised, but she went into his office. She looked at him, and she thought he looked good sitting behind his desk. He exuded confidence that was both appealing and a little scary.

Nervously she stuttered out “Is there something I can do to help you?”

“Are you OK?” Keith asked.

“Yes.” Elizabeth lied.

“OK.” Keith said unconvinced. “Yea, I need help getting research for this case I am working on. “Keith said answering Elizabeth’s original question.

Elizabeth was confused because, she had no idea what case he was working on and what research he needed but, she did not want him to know it. Keith glanced up at her, and saw her face then he smirked to himself. “It’s the environmental case, and I just need all that laws for the area, also all the evidence we have needs to be compared to those laws. Anymore evidence that can be gathered I will need. I will have Grace send you all the information you need.” Keith said.

“Umm OK.” Elizabeth answered.

“Is that a problem for you?” Keith asked.

“Oh no, sorry it just seems like that will take all night.” answered Elizabeth.

“Yea it probably will take all night, sorry I need it done and I don’t have the time to do it myself. Precisely why I have an assistant.” Keith replied.

Elizabeth shocked at her unprofessionalism said “Yes, you are right sorry.”

“Great.” Keith said.

Elizabeth just stood there unsure of what she was supposed to do, until Keith looked up at her questioningly. He was wondering why she was still standing there, at least that is what Elizabeth thought. Really though he was happy she did not move he was really enjoying looking at her. As Elizabeth took Keith’s stare as a gesture for her to start moving her ass, to Keith’s disappointment she did move it, back to her desk. However, he did enjoy watching her walk away.

Elizabeth sat down at her desk and turned on her computer, she started by checking her e-mail and saw that the case had been sent to her by Grace. She read it thoroughly and understood what information she needed to obtain for Keith. She was working hard throughout the evening, she did not realize it at first but she loved it. She finally felt like she was doing something there at the Connard law firm.

Her happiness was interrupted by her cell phone ringing. She looked to see who was calling. She saw that it was Paul, she felt horrible she completely forgot that she and Paul had plans to go out. Elizabeth answered the phone feeling guilty.

“Hello, hey Paul. I am so sorry I completely forgot to call you to cancel.” Elizabeth answered.

“You’re cancelling?” Paul asked

“Yea sorry, my boss actually came in today, he is working a huge environmental case and he needed my help so I am working, overtime I guess.” Elizabeth answered.

“OK, so we will just reschedule then.” Paul answered disappointedly.

“Yea for sure. Sorry I got to go now I am really busy.” said Elizabeth

Elizabeth hung up the phone, and got back to work. As she was working one by one all her fellow employees left. She was there working when Keith came out of his office and from behind her asked “How is it going?”

She turned around to face him “Oh it’s going good. I found many laws that are in fact being violated but I am looking at similar cases and they have found many loopholes to keep doing what they are doing. But I have found many concrete laws that they are breaking and there is no denying it and no loop holes for them. I am now just trying to find loopholes to their loopholes, so you can get them on everything because these people are horrible.” answered Elizabeth.

“Oh wow.” Keith responded surprised “I just came out here because I was hungry; I was wondering if you were hungry too?”

Elizabeth had completely forgotten about eating until Keith had mentioned his hunger. She thought about it. Keith amused said “I didn’t know it was a difficult decision.”

Elizabeth laughed “No it’s not I just forgot about eating, but yes I am hungry. I will order food for us.”

“Thank you. I’ll be in my office you can bring the food in there when it gets here.” Keith told her.

“Yes sir.” Elizabeth responded.

“Keith!” he said.

“I’m sorry?” Elizabeth asked.

“Call me Keith.” responded Keith.

“Oh OK yes sir, Keith. Keith sorry.” Keith laughed amused as he walked back into his office.

Elizabeth ordered Greek food; she did not even think to ask Keith what he because she knew from her research of him before she got the job what food he liked. She chose Greek food from all the food he liked because, she liked Greek food too. She wrapped up with what she was doing so that by the time the food got there she would be done her work.

The food came and Elizabeth brought it into Keith’s office and unpacked and delivered Keith’s dinner right to him. She opened his box of food, took out the dressing and put it on his desk, then took out his utensils.

She then took her own food and started walking to her desk to eat it when Keith stopped her by saying “What are you doing sit down.” He gestured toward the chair across from him on the opposite side of his desk, indicating to Elizabeth that he wanted her to sit there with him.

“Oh.” Elizabeth said surprised.

Keith looked at her confused at her shock. Elizabeth went to the chair, sat down, and then she opened her food and started to eat it. Keith was staring at her; she looked up and saw him staring at her.

She quickly stopped eating “Oh shoot do you say grace?”

“Only when I need something.” Keith answered.

Elizabeth looked at him confused.

“The secretary... it’s a play on words.” He waved his hand as if to push the subject aside “Never mind. I am sorry for staring I was just impressed with how well and fast you eat.”

“Oh yea” Elizabeth said embarrassed, as she turned a light shade of red.

Keith smiled at her moment of vulnerability. He then started to dig into his own food. Elizabeth went back to eating her food but now she was a little self conscious and made it a point to eat slower. Keith noticed this and smirked.

“Thanks for getting dinner for us. I love Greek food.” Keith said to break the silence.

“Oh yea I know I researched you” she said carelessly “I mean like, just to know you a little, not in a creepy stalker way. I’m sure you get creepy stalkers all the time successful good looking man” She started blushing a deeper red “Why do I keep talking. I will stop now.”

Keith laughed and felt validated “It’s OK I understand I did a little research on you too.”

Elizabeth asked surprised “Really? You did?”

“Yea” He could tell by the look on her face she was wondering why he would research her at all “I like to know about the people who work for me.”

“Oh OK.” said Elizabeth a little relieved

“Yea I have a question though” Keith stated.

“Oh yea what?” Elizabeth asked a little nervous about what he may have discovered about her.

“Well now I got two. First why did you take a job as an assistant why not be a lawyer, you were among the top of your law school graduating class? My new and second question is what the hell are you so scared of that you think I discovered?” Keith asked.

“Ok well first answer is that I wanted to learn from the best, and you’re the best, and” she took a deep breath “That’s it”

Keith laughs “Thank you I appreciate the compliment but I know you could easily be a lawyer yourself.” Keith mocked her deep breath and added “Ok I’ll just have to keep looking.”

Elizabeth stared into his eyes and smiled at him amused.

He reiterated “So why aren’t you a lawyer?”

Elizabeth answered “I have convinced myself that I am not a lawyer because I want to learn from the best.”

“I think you are just scared.” Keith answered.

“I am not scared of losing I know it is part of being a lawyer.” Elizabeth responded.

“Not what I said.” Keith stated. “No I think you are scared of being more, I have noticed you have been looking for another job.”

Taken aback Elizabeth sat there not knowing what to say, Keith told her “Don’t worry I am not upset about it I get it you have been doing almost nothing here. What I noticed is that you are aiming for barely more than what you already have; why not try to get into a law firm as a lawyer?”

Elizabeth’s eyes filled with tears as she had realized that what Keith was saying was true

Keith was starting to feel bad so he said consolingly “I’m sorry I wasn’t trying to upset you.”

“I know. I’m sorry this is embarrassing.” answered Elizabeth, as she wiped away tears trying to stop crying, because it was making hr feel humiliated.

“You don’t need to be embarrassed.” Keith said.

He really wanted her to be comfortable around him no matter what she was doing or saying. The fact that she was crying in front of him was already a step in that direction.

“Thank you.” Elizabeth answered gratefully then added” I’m sorry I just realized that you are right; I am too scared to try to be a lawyer. I spent all that time in school studying and getting good grades only to be too terrified of the real world to actually get anywhere.” Elizabeth answered.

“I’ll tell you what I am going to do you a favour. “Keith stated.

Elizabeth asked intrigued “Oh yea, what is that?”

“I am going to fire you as my assistant.” Keith informed her.

“What?” Elizabeth interrupted Keith shocked.

“If you let me finish, I would have said that I am going to hire you as a junior level lawyer. I’ll take you under my wing; you can be my co-counsel on this case.” Keith finished saying.

“Oh my God. Are you serious?” Elizabeth asked.

“Yes, I am serious” answered Keith “No more looking for other jobs though.

“Holy crap! I thought you were supposed to be an asshole.” Elizabeth blurted out.

Keith was shocked and amused “What?” he asked.

Elizabeth let out a long drawn out “Oh” as she realized what she had just said out loud to Keith.

She looked at him a little nervous she did not know how to read the situation. He seemed insulted but he also had a devilish smile on his face.

Elizabeth quipped quickly with “Sorry, just rumours I heard which I did not mean to say out loud into your face. Obviously they are not true.”

“Oh no the rumours can be true, just not to you.” He gave her his best flirtatious smile and winked at her. Elizabeth did not want it to but it made her feel weak at the knees. Elizabeth gulped to try and ease the lump in her throat. She turned her face back toward her food and continued eating her food to try and avoid Keith’s glance. Keith smiled at her knowing that he had affected her. They finished their dinner then Keith told Elizabeth that she could go home.

Back at her place, Elizabeth found Paul there on the floor in front of her door. She reached down and shook him to wake him. He slowly opened his eyes to see Elizabeth.

Paul groggily greeted her “Hey beautiful”

Smiling, Elizabeth said “Hey gorgeous. What are you doing here?”

“I missed you and I wanted to see you.” Paul answered.

Paul started to get up; Elizabeth held her hand out and helped him to stand up. She opened her door and the two of them went inside. Elizabeth got ready for bed while Paul waited for her in the living room. As she was getting ready she thought about telling Paul that she wanted to end their celibacy. However, she knew that she was too tired for anything special, and she wanted her first time to be special. So she determined that she would not tell him tonight, she would wait for a better time. She finished getting ready for bed and went to the living room to talk to Paul. They talked for a couple of hours until Elizabeth could no longer stay awake. Elizabeth told Paul that he could stay overnight on the couch. As she did not want to give Paul the wrong idea.

Elizabeth was finally excited to go to work which made her very happy. She had hated the past few months where it seemed like going in to work was like going to a self inflicted prison sentence. She was not doing anything more than helping Keith with his case, bur she felt useful. To her surprise Keith actually came into the office again. She did not actually see him because she came in after he did but she knew he was there.

Elizabeth was so entrenched in her work, that time went by quickly and before she knew it was time for lunch. She would have worked through hour lunch but she had promised Davina that she would take her out to eat and tell her all about how it went with Paul. She thought that she would have a lot to talk about when she had planned the outing but, now she k new that conversation would be short.

They decided on a restaurant in between her office and Davina’s place of employment. It was a fast paced bistro, which was great for a lunch out during a week day. She sat down at a table, and waited for Davina for twenty minutes. She was starving finally she decided Davina was not going to make it so she ordered food to go, as she was leaving she ran directly into Davina.

“Hey” Davina greeted Elizabeth.

“Hey.” Elizabeth greeted Davina back.

“Where are you going?” asked Davina.

“I got to go back to work, my lunch break is almost over.” answered Elizabeth.

“Since when do you care about missing work?” asked Davina.

“Since my job title changed and I have more important things to get done there.” answered Elizabeth.

“Well can you call and ask for a little more time for lunch” stated Davina.

“No, I can’t ask for a longer lunch break so I can talk to my friend. Let’s get together this weekend.” answered Elizabeth.

“OK real quick then, tell me how it went with Paul last night?” replied Davina.

“Nothing happened I was at work all night.” Elizabeth informed Davina.

“Oh that sucks. Wait your job changed?” Davina asked.

“Yea I am now an actual lawyer, the most junior lawyer possible but still. Anyway I have to go.” Elizabeth turned and went back to work, as Davina called out “Congratulations!”

Elizabeth screamed back to her “Thank you.”

Elizabeth got back to the Connard law offices, and got right back into her work. Keith came out of his office, stopped beside her desk, he put his hand on top of hers, and he looked at her and said “Hey.”

Elizabeth looked up at him trying not to let the warmth of his hand make her feel the full on body tingle that it was, and said “Hey.”

He called Grace over and was talking to her about the things he needed her to do, while he did so he did not move his hand from Elizabeth’s. Elizabeth thought to herself ’is he trying to hold my hand? Is he trying to touch me? Did he forget that his hand was on mine? The longer his hand was on hers the harder it was for her to not like it. Her heart was beating rapidly, she was feeling butterflies in her stomach. She was feeling a little nervous at how much she liked Keith’s touch.

Keith wrapped up his conversation with Grace, and then he squeezed Elizabeth’s hand to let her know he was doing it on purpose. He flashed his beautiful smile to Elizabeth, and then went back to his office. Elizabeth looked up at Grace who was still there standing beside her, and giving her a very dirty look.

Elizabeth with attitude asked “What?”

“Nothing.” Grace responded just as rudely.

“OK.” Elizabeth answered Grace confused.

Grace walked away and muttered under her breath “Stupid bitch sleeping her way to the top.”

Elizabeth was stunned she quickly got up and walked toward Grace, she grabbed her arm when she caught up to her to stop her from walking. Grace turned and looked at her with attitude on her face. When

Elizabeth ignored Grace’s face then asked “What did you say?”

Grace was about to answer her when Keith called her into his office. Grace went into Keith’s office; Keith closed the door behind her. Frozen in fury it took a moment for Elizabeth to go back to her desk. Once at her desk Elizabeth tried to listen in on what they were saying. It sounded like Keith was berating Grace for saying what she had said to, and about Elizabeth.

Grace left Keith’s office about twenty minutes after she had gone in. Elizabeth went to Keith’s office door which was left open by Grace, Elizabeth was standing partially in his office already but, she tapped lightly on the door anyway. Keith looked up at her and smiled then asked her to come in, so she did and closed the door behind her.

In his office Elizabeth said “I am sorry about that. Thank you for defending me though.”

“You don’t think I was too rough on her?” asked Keith.

“Well it is a lot better then what I had planned in my mind.” answered Elizabeth.

Keith amused by what Elizabeth had just said, asked “Oh yea, what’s that?”

“Some physical abuse for sure.” answered Elizabeth “It’s probably better this way.” Elizabeth added.

“Not like she doesn’t deserve it.” consoled Keith.

“Yea I don’t know why she said that, I would never try to sleep my way to the top. I have more respect for myself and for you to do that.” Elizabeth argued.

“Hey I’m not against it.” Keith said as he got up and went over to Elizabeth.

He got closer to Elizabeth and she could feel her heart starting to beat more and more rapidly. Until finally he was right in front of her, he held out his hand and caressed her wrist. He then moved his hand slowly up her arm across her shoulder, to behind her neck. He then moved his hand to her head. He then brought his hand over to her face; he caressed her cheek and leaned in a little closer to breather her in. Elizabeth took a shaky breath in. Keith then found his way to her chin, which he gently caressed. He then tilted her chin up so that her face was inclined for him. He leaned down and was about to kiss her. Elizabeth was ready and waiting for him but, then she remembered Paul.

She quickly turned her face, and then walked to the other side of the room out of his grasp. Elizabeth turned to look at him; he was in the same position as though Elizabeth had not moved. A little stunned Keith turned around to look at her on the other side of the room. He looked sad and disappointed, which made Elizabeth feel bad.

“I’m sorry I can’t do this.” Elizabeth explained.

Keith took a step toward her and asked huskily “Why not?” then took another step toward her.

Elizabeth took another step back to maintain distance between them “I have a boyfriend that I care about, and I am not going to be unfaithful to him. Besides I just met you yesterday.”

“OK so time to get to know each other is what you need?” asked Keith “I can live with that.”

“It’s not just time that I need. I am not single to be with you or anyone else, except Paul.” replied Elizabeth.

“Paul?” Keith asked curiously.

“Yea my boyfriend.” said Elizabeth.

“Paul, OK. Your boyfriend, I’ll respect your choice. For today.” Keith said smugly.

Elizabeth nervously said “OK thank you. I’m going to just go back to work now.” Elizabeth ended the conversation on that note then went back to work.

When Elizabeth left his office, Keith closed the door and called Grace.

Grace picked up her phone “Yes sir?”

“I need to know everything you can find out about Elizabeth’s boyfriend Paul.” Keith demanded

Grace side glanced at Elizabeth then said “Yes sir.”

Grace went angrily over to Elizabeth’s desk and said “Hey Elizabeth, I am so sorry about earlier. I implied something that clearly is not true.” She then leaned over and got close to Elizabeth’s face “But it will be, because when Keith wants something he gets it. Making it harder for him only makes him want it more.”

Elizabeth glared at Grace” What are you talking about?”

“You. Keith wants you. Whether you believe it or not doesn’t matter. For whatever purpose he wants you for he is going to get you.” Grace answered.

“He is not going to get me and in time he will get bored and then you and I can go back to our old relationship of not caring about one another at all. Now if you’ll excuse me I actually have a lot of work to do.”

“Oh yea why will he not be ’getting you? You don’t find him attractive?” asked Grace in disbelief.

“What? No he is very attractive maybe too attractive. I just already have a boyfriend.” Elizabeth informed Grace.

“Oh you have a boyfriend?” asked Grace knowing full well that she did.

“Yea Paul Glover. You and I are not exactly friends so it would not really be information that I would hand over to you.” stated Elizabeth.

Grace having gotten what she wanted said bringing the conversation to a close “You are right we are not friends, so I guess I will just go now.” Grace walked away content that she had gotten what she wanted.

“OK.” Elizabeth whispered as she went back to staring at her computer screen.

Grace went back to her station, and started run a background check on Paul. Elizabeth was completely oblivious to all that was going on around her. Quitting time came and Elizabeth was getting ready to leave, as it was Friday and she was eager to get her weekend started as soon as possible. Keith seeing Elizabeth packing up to leave called her into his office, she reluctantly went in.

“Yes, Keith.” She said nervously in response.

“I’m not going to jump you no need to be so scared.” Keith said pleased.

“Oh OK sorry, I don’t mean to be nervous it’s just because of before.” replied Elizabeth still unsteady.

Keith laughed through his nose “Yea, I know. Anyway, I just called you in here because the trial date has been moved up and we need to go over our strategy.” said Keith.

“Seriously? When is it now?” asked Elizabeth.

“Monday.” answered Keith.

“Oh my God. This Monday?” asked Elizabeth.

“Yea.” responded Keith.

“Shoot we will have to work through this all weekend and we still won’t be ready.” stated Elizabeth

“Yea I know, it’s ill timing given what happened today. Unfortunately I can do nothing about it.” Keith lied to her.

“Yea, no, I know it’s not your fault. I just need to cancel all my plans, clear the weekend and we can get to work.” replied Elizabeth.

Elizabeth left Keith’s office to get her purse and called Davina and Paul to let them both know that she could not make their plans this weekend.

Meanwhile Keith had Grace in his office and told her to do whatever she had to do to bring the court date up to Monday. Grace then gave Keith all the information she had found on Paul that she had printed it out for him.

“This is thick” said Keith.

“Yea I think there are things in there Elizabeth doesn’t even know about.” replied Grace.

“Thanks this feels like it will be very helpful.” replied Keith.

“You're welcome.” said Grace.

Elizabeth came back into Keith’s office and she saw Grace there and said “Oh I am sorry I should have knocked”

“No, it’s OK Grace was just leaving.” said Keith.

“Oh OK should I just come in” Elizabeth saw the stack of papers in Keith’s hands. “Oh is that for this case, do I need to read it?” Elizabeth asked.

“Oh no this is for another case I am working on.” Keith quickly put all the information on Paul that Grace had gathered in his desk drawer to hide it from Elizabeth.

“Alright so I think we should take a look at all similar case and see where those who lost went wrong and those who won went right.” Keith was impressed with her drive.

They had worked the night through until they both fell asleep in his office. They woke up the next morning a little disoriented. Once Elizabeth got her bearings she was ready to get right back to work. Keith however wanted to go home to shower, brush his teeth, and change his clothes. Elizabeth looked at him as he said this and thought to herself that he did not need to shower as he still looked amazing.
