Alice's POV

Ten years later, ten top international assassins under BOC GeneTech, following Dr. Alfonso Carr's orders, found me.

They wanted to kill me!

Too bad they were no match for me at all. Instead, I killed them one by one!

Only the last assassin remained. While coughing up blood, he said viciously, "Dr. Carr won't let you go. Sooner or later, you'll die at the hands of BOC GeneTech!"

I looked at him coldly and sneered, "All I know is that you'll die before me!"

With that, I slit his throat with a dagger. Red blood spilled everywhere.

My name is Alice Baker, code name "V," from Novaria, BOC GeneTech's most successful bio-engineered human!

From birth, I was BOC GeneTech's most powerful killing machine.

Anyone I wanted to kill never survived!

I didn't want to live under BOC GeneTech's control my whole life, so I escaped, hid my identity, and lived ten years of ordinary, peaceful life.

I never expected them to find me!

Looks like peaceful days are over.

I burned the bodies of the ten assassins, destroying all evidence, then went home.

Ten years ago, I was adopted by a couple.

In their eyes, I was just an excellent student about to apply for college.

"Alice, I've made dinner. Come eat!" After returning home, my adoptive mother took my hand with great concern.

I held her hand back and smiled gently, "Mom, shall we go for a walk? I'm not hungry yet."

My adoptive mother suddenly avoided my gaze. "The food's ready, we should eat it while it's hot!"

She pulled me inside, then walked behind me, and said in surprise, "Alice, is that blood on your neck?"

I was startled. How could there be blood? I had clearly cleaned everything.

Just as I was confused, my adoptive mother suddenly jabbed a lethal poison into my carotid artery from behind!

I was shocked and turned around, looking at her with complete confusion.

I never expected my adoptive mother would attack me!

I had dodged the assassins' bullets, but I couldn't dodge this "bullet" from family.

If I wanted to, I could snap her neck in one second!

But I wouldn't, because after all, this woman had raised me.

"Why?" I asked, trembling.

"Alice, please don't blame Mom. BOC GeneTech forced me. They said you were born from illegal genetic modification, and if you escaped their control, you should be destroyed..."

"I didn't want to! I didn't want to do this!"

"But if I didn't agree, they would kill the two-month-old baby in my belly. Alice, your father and I raised you for ten years. Can you just consider it repaying us? Don't blame us..." my adoptive mother tried to explain.

I could feel the toxin rapidly destroying my nervous system. My vision was the first to be attacked.

In the countdown to complete darkness, I calmly turned and hugged my adoptive mother, who was trembling with fear from killing someone for the first time. I held her one last time and whispered in her ear, "You were deceived."

"BOOM—"

The bomb buried under the house was detonated. In an instant, the cabin on this small island was blown to pieces.

My adoptive mother and I were both blown to bits by BOC GeneTech's bomb...

"Damn! Alice, you fat pig, you're so heavy I can't even move you!"

I suddenly opened my eyes. Cold air rushed into my lungs, bringing a slight sting. Ugly cursing filled my ears.

I looked at everything before me, somewhat confused, while many memories flooded into my mind.

I had been reborn!

My soul had entered the body of a fat girl with the same name as me!

I turned to look at the boy who had just kicked me. Behind him stood only a butler and a bodyguard.

The fat girl's memories flooded into my brain like a tide.

Through the fat girl's memories, I learned that she was also named Alice Baker. She had been separated from her parents as a child and only recently returned home.

Her father was the richest man in Emerald City!

The boy before me was Alex Baker, the private son of Emerald City's richest man, Alice's half-brother from a different mother.

Alex looked down on Alice for having intellectual disabilities and being overweight. He didn't treat Alice as his sister at all. Even knowing Alice had a heart condition, he brought her bungee jumping.

Alex clearly wanted to harm Alice!

Alice, who had a fear of heights, just looked down once while standing on the bungee platform, and her heart condition was triggered, killing her...

I watched "Alice's" brief and pitiful life unfold.

My soul entered her body and took over her life!

Since I now had Alice's body, I would avenge her!

"What are you staring at? Hurry up and jump down, let me see a sow fly! Hahaha!" Alex mocked me with a smirk.

I quickly untied the bungee safety rope from my waist, stepped forward, and grabbed Alex.

Probably surprised by how agile this fat girl was, Alex didn't react the entire time I casually tied the safety rope around his waist.

It wasn't until I pushed him off the bungee platform that he let out his first scream.

"Alex! Ms. Alice Baker, are you crazy? The safety rope isn't even fastened properly! Quick, pull Mr. Alex Baker up!" The butler, hearing Alex scream, turned pale with fright while urging the bodyguard to save him.

The bodyguard immediately rushed forward in panic.

I stood on the narrow walkway like a wall, perfectly blocking the bodyguard's path. Coincidentally, I had a sharp folding knife in my pocket.

I took out the knife and said to them in a calm, crazy tone, "One more step, and I'll start cutting the rope."

The bodyguard immediately stopped.

Alex's screams gradually weakened as he hung in the air.

The butler was so anxious that he was sweating profusely. His face looked like he wanted to kneel and beg me not to go crazy. His legs were shaking badly. "Ms. Alice Baker, stop fooling around, okay?"

"Fooling around? When he made me, a heart patient, go bungee jumping, why didn't you think he was fooling around?"

The butler had no way to deal with me. Trembling, he took out his phone and made a call, turning on the speaker as it connected. "Mrs. Baker, something terrible happened. Ms. Alice Baker is trying to kill Mr. Alex Baker!"

"What happened? Ms. Alice Baker suddenly went crazy and pushed Mr. Alex Baker off the bungee platform."

"Mrs. Baker, Ms. Alice Baker usually listens to you the most. Please come talk to her and let us pull Alex up!"

"Let Alice answer the phone!" The woman on the other end was furious.

The butler, afraid of provoking me, carefully approached and handed me the phone, coaxing me like a child. "Ms. Alice Baker, it's Mrs. Baker's call. Will you answer it?"

I took the butler's phone and casually threw it off the bungee platform.

"What are you doing!" The butler grabbed the railing and desperately watched the phone fall into the river below the platform.

I played with the folding knife in my hand boredly, looking at the tearful butler with a half-smile.

Ten minutes later.

I looked down. Alex was already foaming at the mouth, swaying in mid-air.

"He's been punished enough. Pull him up!" I stepped aside unhurriedly.

After I moved out of the way, the bodyguard frantically pulled Alex up.

"I want to get down, I want to get down..." Alex was trembling all over. He was terrified!

The bodyguard and butler supported Alex on either side as they walked down from the bungee platform. When passing me, Alex glared at me with hatred, as if he wanted to cut me into a thousand pieces with his eyes.

I walked behind them and went down.

When I reached the ground, Alex's face was pale. He knelt directly on the ground, shaking. The first thing he did after catching his breath was curse at me, "Alice, you tried to murder me!"
