Chapter 10 The New Model Rolls-Royce

As the butler's voice rang out, the room suddenly fell completely silent.

After a long moment, Winston looked at the butler. "What do you mean?"

The butler immediately straightened up and explained, "The driver got food poisoning late last night and went straight to the hospital, so Miss Arabella Obelon drove herself to school this morning."

The moment those words landed, Regina, who had just been calmed down by Easton, froze. Her delicate face was filled with shock.

Arabella drove herself?

Didn't she not have a driver's license?

Realizing he had misunderstood Arabella, a flash of visible discomfort crossed Winston's face.

The driver had called in sick, which meant Arabella's supposed act of deliberately sending the driver away to shut Regina out didn't hold up at all.

He curled one hand into a loose fist, held it to his lips, gave a light cough, then lowered his voice and looked at the butler. "If you knew, why didn't you say something sooner?"

The butler said innocently, "Miss Regina Hayes told me this morning that she could get to school on her own and asked me not to say anything."

He had simply followed Regina's instructions to the letter.

But Regina, standing right there listening, was absolutely furious.

Was that what she meant?

Did she actually tell him to keep his mouth shut?

For the sake of her image, Regina forced herself to swallow her anger and even nodded, covering for the butler. "Winston, this is nothing. Back home I used to walk an hour to school every day."

She lowered her head and stared at her toes, her careful, timid look making her seem especially pitiful.

"I'm used to it. It's fine even if Arabella didn't want to take me." Regina finished speaking, then looked up at Arabella with an expression full of understanding.

For some reason, watching Arabella stand there so calm and unbothered left her feeling uneasy.

She just stood there, like someone watching a show from the sidelines. The more Regina looked at her, the more her doubts grew.

Could it be that she had actually slipped up somewhere and Arabella had caught on?

"What do you mean it's fine? Now that you're part of our family, there's no way we're letting you go back to living like that. And besides, so what if Arabella drove herself? Couldn't she have taken you with her?" No matter how he looked at it, Easton felt Arabella had done something wrong.

Beside him, Justin looked at Arabella with some surprise. "Didn't you say before that you were scared of driving? When did you get your license? How come you never told me?"

At those words, something stirred in Arabella's chest, which had been cold and numb until that moment.

She hadn't expected to hear even one word of concern for her among all the accusations. Her voice softened slightly. "I just got my license yesterday."

Justin let out a sigh. "If you have a license, taking Regina along shouldn't have been a problem. It was her first day at school as a transfer student, after all. You really went too far this time."

Justin's tone shifted, and Arabella's throat tightened.

Of course. In their eyes, only Regina mattered. What had she even been hoping for?

"Justin, I just told you, I only got my license yesterday. Driving by myself was already hard enough, let alone having someone else in the car." Arabella's voice came out cold and flat.

Her beautiful face seemed to harden behind an invisible mask as she calmly and steadily faced these family members who were coming after her with accusations that didn't even hold up.

"On top of that, new drivers are a risk on the road to begin with. I was worried about getting into an accident and making Regina late on her first day, which is exactly why I left on my own. As for the driver calling in sick, I only just found out from the butler. What I didn't expect was that trying to look out for Regina would somehow get me blamed for it."

As she spoke, a faint, mocking smile tugged at the corner of her lips.

Her words left all three brothers speechless, because every single point she made was perfectly reasonable.

Hearing this, Regina's suspicions about her faded considerably.

She had thought about Regina's safety. Arabella was still the same as before.

Regina quietly let out a breath of relief.

After a brief silence, Justin sighed. "If it really happened the way you say, then I guess we did misunderstand you. But Arabella, Regina is new here and doesn't know anyone except us. She's not like you. You've had everything since the day you were born. There's no need to make a big deal out of every little thing. Let's just drop today's incident. When you get back to school tomorrow, you should look out for her more."

Arabella's eyes went a few degrees colder. So because she was the one who had been wronged, they were just going to let it go.

If it had been Regina who was wronged, who knows how hard they would have pushed her to apologize.

"I'm sorry, Arabella. Justin and Easton were just really worried about me, that's all." Regina walked over to her side and said carefully, her face full of apology.

The way she looked, so remorseful, made it seem as though the two brothers were her own flesh and blood.

The old Arabella might have kept swallowing her own hurt just because her brothers always took Regina's side. But now, she genuinely didn't care anymore.

"Regina, you don't need to apologize." Winston's voice came slowly. "Since it was just a misunderstanding, I'll arrange a new driver and car to take Regina to school tomorrow. I'll also have some daily essentials sent over later."

To make up for any hurt Regina might have felt, Winston ordered a large number of items from top luxury brands. Racks of clothes were brought in one after another and sent to Regina's room.

It was the first time she had ever seen so many luxury goods, and the first time she could freely pick out things she could never have imagined owning before.

The next morning, Arabella ran into Regina on her way out.

She was dressed in a brand-new spring outfit from a high-end luxury label, wearing an expensive hair clip, and from head to toe looked more like the Obelon family's daughter than Arabella herself.

Not to mention that Winston had arranged for her to be driven in the family's brand-new Rolls-Royce.

Just before getting in the car, Regina seemed to deliberately show off, giving Arabella a little wave. When she noticed that Arabella's eyes weren't even on her, she jogged over and stopped right in front of her.

"Arabella, do I look good?" she asked, her face glowing with pride.

She might as well have been saying: See? You may be the Obelon family's daughter, but I'm the one they love most right now.

Arabella had no interest in her pointless showing off. She turned and got straight into the car.

The door shut with a click.

Regina's words died in her throat. Just as she was about to lean down and knock on the window, the engine roared to life, and in the next second the car shot out through the front gate and was gone.

So she really was jealous after all.

Regina watched the car disappear into the distance, the smile on her lips growing wider and wider.

Just wait. This is only the beginning.

The Obelon family would eventually have room for only one person — Regina.

Summit Academy.

Since Arabella was still a student, cars weren't allowed through the main entrance, so she parked in the lot just outside the school gate.

She had barely stepped out of the car when a commotion broke out not far away.

"Is that a Rolls-Royce? And a new model too — who is that?"
