Chapter 1 Counterattack Against the Scumbag Man After Rebirth
Olivia Shaw's bones were completely shattered. Like a broken rag doll, she was buried in the dirt.
The thin air slowly escaped from her chest. Her nose was filled with the smell of blood and earth. Only her fingertips could still tremble slightly, clawing into the damp soil.
"Alright, that's enough."
A soft voice, seemingly laced with poison, came from above her head.
It was her cousin, Samantha White.
"Olivia, don't blame me for being heartless." Samantha crouched beside her head, her voice carrying a hint of cruel amusement. "If you want to blame someone, blame yourself for being too naive. Shaw Corporation is such a huge business—why should it all belong to you alone? My dad worked like a dog for your family for so many years. Taking a little payback is only fair, isn't it?"
Olivia's eyes were bloodshot as she glared at her, wanting to tear that fake face apart. But the dirt had already reached her neck, and she could only make wheezing sounds.
"Oh, right," Samantha said, as if suddenly remembering something, standing up. "There are some things I need to tell you."
She lowered her voice. "Do you know why your dad suddenly had a heart attack? It's because I switched his medication with vitamin pills."
"And your mom—such a proud woman. The news of bankruptcy plus a few photoshopped pictures of your dad with his secretary, and she jumped from the thirtieth floor."
Olivia's pupils suddenly contracted, as if blood was dripping from her eyes.
"As for your brother, that muscle-headed idiot—I just tampered with his race car a little, and his brakes failed and the car exploded."
Olivia's body convulsed violently, the overwhelming hatred almost bursting through her broken body!
Her parents' loving faces, her brother's cheerful laugh—all screaming in her mind!
It was all because of her! She had invited the wolf into the house, treating this venomous snake as her dear sister, and it killed her family!
"Oh, and there's your beloved fiancé, John Collins."
Samantha's voice took on a note of pride. "You think he suddenly agreed to marry you? You really thought that kidney could buy his love? Don't be stupid! All he wanted was the status of being the Shaw family's son-in-law, so he could legitimately swallow up what was left of your family's assets. As for your kidney—"
She paused, her smile becoming more vicious.
"He sold it right away. Used the money to buy me an engagement ring. We've been together all along. Every time you ran around for him like an idiot, he was in my bed, saying how stupid and annoying you were."
"Ahhh!!!"
A completely inhuman shriek tore from Olivia's throat.
She had loved John for ten years. Just because of one word from him, she didn't hesitate to lie on the operating table and lose a kidney!
She thought it was love, but it turned out to be nothing but a complete joke!
"Stop screaming, save your energy." Samantha brushed the dirt off her hands and stood up. "Shaw Corporation is now named White, and John is mine too. Sister, just rot here in peace."
The footsteps gradually faded away. The last bit of light disappeared from her vision, and endless darkness completely swallowed Olivia.
Such hatred! If there's a next life, she would make them pay in blood!
——
The sound of pattering rain reached her ears. Olivia's eyes flew open, gasping for air like a dying fish.
Above her was a crystal chandelier hanging from the ceiling. On the carpet beside the bed lay a champagne-colored dress scattered on the floor.
This was the suite she had booked at the Hilton Hotel on the night of her nineteenth birthday!
Her heart pounded wildly in her chest. Olivia sat up abruptly and rushed to the bathroom mirror.
The girl in the mirror had stunning features and clear eyes. Around her neck was a custom-made sapphire necklace—her mother's nineteenth birthday gift to her.
Trembling, she reached for her left side, near her waist.
The skin was smooth—there was no ugly scar from the kidney donation that came later.
She really came back! Back to the starting point where everything could still be saved!
Olivia started laughing, from suppressed chuckles to hysterical sobbing, tears streaming down her face.
After a moment of release, she fiercely wiped away the tears, the sadness in her eyes fading, leaving only bone-deep hatred.
Samantha White, John Collins—you better be ready, the vengeful ghost coming for your lives is here!
Just as she was thinking this, her phone rang abruptly. It was John.
Distant memories gradually became clear.
Last night was the college's annual autumn ball, and also her nineteenth birthday.
She had gathered her courage and, in front of everyone, walked up to John, who was surrounded by admirers, and invited him to the opening dance.
John didn't even give her a glance. The guys beside him, also football team members, burst into undisguised laughter. "Mr. Collins has Catherine as his date. Catherine is St. Monroe's real princess, okay?"
She stood there like a ridiculous clown, with everyone laughing at her for overestimating herself.
"You're Olivia?" Catherine, the girl they were talking about, walked up to her with a champagne glass, her eyes looking down at her with judgment.
Before Olivia could answer, ice-cold liquid poured down from above her head!
The golden liquid instantly soaked her hair, flowing down her cheeks and into her neck. Her dress became soaked and clung tightly to her body, outlining an embarrassing silhouette.
"Oops, so sorry, my hand slipped. Are you okay?" Catherine said.
The girls around them immediately burst into laughter, pointing at her and doubling over.
John also noticed the commotion, but looked at it like some irrelevant farce and turned back indifferently.
The guys beside him whistled frivolously, their mocking laughter blending into the background noise.
At that moment, cold and burning sensations clashed inside Olivia's body, and overwhelming shame nearly drowned her.
The memory from yesterday ended. The phone was still ringing. Olivia answered with a cold smile.
John's voice came through, clearly impatient. "I hope you have an explanation for what happened last night. Pushing Catherine down in front of so many people—that's not the kind of manners a Shaw family daughter should have."
After Catherine humiliated her last night, Olivia tried to leave, but Catherine blocked her, so she shoved her aside. But... manners? Olivia almost laughed out loud.
A man who used lies to trick her out of a kidney was now talking to her about manners?
How had she responded in her past life?
"John, I'm sorry, I'll come right away. Please don't be angry, okay? I just love you too much."
That tone, so humble it was in the dust—now thinking about it just made her sick.
"What exactly are the manners a Shaw family daughter should have?" Olivia asked.
There was obvious shock on the other end. "What did you say?"
"Can't understand plain English?"
"Olivia, are you crazy? How dare you talk to me like this!" John roared.
Olivia held the phone away from her ear and said calmly, "I meant to push her. Not only did I want to push her, I wanted to push her into the pool and stomp on her a few times."
"Oh, by the way, so you're a fan of 'manners', are you? Then shove them sideways up your hypocritical, goddamn ass, you motherfucker asshole!"
