Chapter 8 Frederick's Favor
A powerful aura instantly enveloped the surroundings.
Frederick had walked over at some point.
He stood tall and straight, his chiseled face completely cold and stern.
The moment John saw him, his expression changed. Under the invisible pressure, sweat formed on his forehead, and he hurriedly let go of the hand he was trying to grab Olivia with.
But the audience's shouting broke the silence.
"Reynolds actually came! Collins must have serious pull—this totally makes up for his earlier embarrassment!"
"If I'd known Mr. Collins had this connection, I wouldn't have cared about Shaw Corporation's contract! Olivia can go to hell!"
Amid wave after wave of excited voices, Samantha was the first to extend her hand, pretending to be shy as she looked at Frederick, saying sweetly,
"Mr. Reynolds, hello, I'm Samantha. What a wonderful coincidence meeting you today. Would you honor us by having dinner together?"
Having finally gotten a chance to meet Frederick, Samantha didn't want to waste it.
No matter how shameless it seemed, she couldn't care less.
Hearing this, John finally snapped back to reality. He quickly wiped his hands and reached out, forcing what he thought was a dignified smile but was actually extremely flattering,
"Mr. Reynolds, hello, thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to watch my competition. If you have time, I'd like to—"
Before he could finish, Frederick had already glanced at them both, his voice like an icy blade.
"Annoying."
John and Samantha's hands froze in mid-air, their faces flushing red with embarrassment.
The two exchanged glances, still trying to find something to say.
But Frederick walked right past them, stopping beside Olivia.
"I'm here for you."
As his words landed, the entire venue fell silent again.
Then came even more frantic screaming.
"What?! Mr. Reynolds is here for Olivia?! Why her!"
"What was John showing off for then? I actually thought he could get close to Frederick!"
"I didn't laugh at the streaking earlier, but now I really am laughing."
Amid the waves of harsh mocking laughter, John wanted nothing more than to find a hole to crawl into.
But Samantha, as if she couldn't read the room at all, said in shock.
"Olivia?! How do you even know Mr. Reynolds?"
As soon as she said this, she even glanced at John with a look of disgust. "I thought he was really here for you."
Now John had lost his patience, couldn't maintain his composure, and even lost his rationality.
"It's all your fault!"
His eyes were bloodshot as he gritted his teeth and pointed angrily at Samantha. "If you hadn't called, how would I have—"
Made a fool of myself!
Unable to say the words, having lost all face today, John stormed off with a dark expression.
Samantha was so frightened her legs went weak. She stayed where she was, nearly crying.
Finally coming to her senses, she instinctively wanted to chase after John, but seeing Frederick nearby, tears streamed down her face.
"I just misunderstood, how could he be so mean to me?"
A beauty in tears.
But no one cared.
Frederick didn't even glance at her, his full attention on Olivia.
"About last time, you owe me an explanation."
The man's voice was low but clear, his expressionless face somehow showing a hint of amusement.
Olivia asked, "Oh, you mean what happened at the hotel? Did you come specially to thank me today?"
Olivia emphasized the word "specially" heavily.
Frederick's lips curved slightly.
"Thank you for what?"
Olivia turned and walked away, leaving only a few words floating back on the wind.
"For not making you impotent."
Frederick laughed in exasperation and followed after her.
The action was unthinking, right up until Olivia suddenly turned around, saying in surprise.
"You really are here for me?"
Only then did Frederick realize he'd been somewhat impulsive.
A strange feeling of embarrassment he'd never experienced before welled up.
Frederick suppressed that feeling and simply nodded frankly.
But Olivia found it quite interesting.
That cold-faced, cold-hearted Frederick who seemed emotionless actually had a moment of embarrassment.
The two gradually walked away.
Behind them, Samantha still stood in place, like a statue ready to collapse at any moment.
No, she wouldn't accept this.
Why would someone like Frederick come specially to find Olivia?
What was their relationship?
That Olivia must have just gotten lucky, happened to catch Mr. Reynolds in a good mood—after all, he was famous for being unpredictable.
Her thoughts were interrupted by what happened next.
She saw Frederick open the car door for Olivia, and the two drove off together.
The crowd erupted again.
Samantha's eyes were practically shooting fire.
Why did all the good things go to Olivia!
No, she absolutely couldn't lose again this time!
Outside Eden Villa Estate.
A black luxury car slowly came to a stop.
Olivia unbuckled her seatbelt, glanced at the man beside her, and said with a slight smile.
"I really didn't expect Mr. Reynolds to have the leisure to drive me home."
If this man wasn't radiating cold energy from head to toe, she might actually think he was a warm-hearted gentleman.
Frederick was about to speak when a figure appeared ahead.
"Mr. Reynolds, what a coincidence, we meet again. Looks like we really are meant to be. By the way, I'm Olivia's cousin. If you have time, let's have dinner together."
It was Samantha.
Olivia wasn't surprised at all that she'd appear here.
With Samantha's personality, having finally met Frederick once, of course she'd rush to butter him up.
This fawning, flattering behavior—Olivia couldn't even bear to watch.
Let alone Frederick.
Just hearing her voice, he felt deeply disturbed.
Without hesitation, he stepped on the gas.
The car started up, heading straight for Samantha!
"Ah!"
The wind howled past, and Samantha's face went pale with fright!
Her composure was gone, her flirtatiousness vanished, her dignity completely destroyed!
She scrambled and rolled to the side, wanting nothing more than to climb up a tree.
Seeing the car getting closer and closer, she could only run frantically toward a side path!
Fortunately, Frederick didn't follow.
She collapsed on the ground, gasping for breath, tears welling up in her eyes.
Crazy!
Frederick was a lunatic!
If Olivia wanted to get involved with someone like that, then let her!
It would be best if Frederick had one of his crazy episodes and ran her over too!
