Chapter 2 A Different Revan

That morning, Revan sat calmly in the president's office of Sterling Group. His hand moved steadily as he signed one document after another, pausing occasionally to read every contract laid out before him.

Unlike in his previous life, he examined every single page with meticulous care. He would never allow anyone to take advantage of him again.

Then, the office door slammed open.

"Revan!" Teressa stormed inside, her face flushed with anger.

Billy followed a few steps behind, quietly closing the door.

"Did you leave me at the boutique on purpose yesterday?" Teressa demanded. "I waited for you for almost two hours! Every employee there looked at me like I'd been abandoned by my own fiancé!"

Revan continued signing the last document without even looking up.

Being ignored only fueled Teressa's anger. "Are you deaf? I'm talking to you!"

Only then did Revan set down his pen and lift his head. "Hm?"

Teressa was momentarily speechless. "'Hm?' That's all you have to say? You humiliated me! You didn't answer a single one of my calls!"

Billy immediately stepped forward, wearing the same warm smile as always. "Revan, this time you're in the wrong." He gently patted Teressa's arm. "She's only upset because she was worried about you. Just apologize. Haven't you always hated seeing Teressa cry?"

Revan's gaze slowly shifted to Billy's hand, which was still resting against Teressa's arm.

The touch was so natural.

So familiar.

Back then, he had believed Billy was simply comforting his future cousin-in-law.

Now he knew better. It was the touch of a man toward the woman he loved.

Billy quickly withdrew his hand with an awkward smile. "Don't get the wrong idea. I was only trying to calm her down."

Revan stared at him expressionlessly, silently scoffing at the same excuse and the same lie from his previous life.

"Revan!" Teressa stomped her foot. "I want an explanation. Why did you leave? Why did you turn off your phone? Why did you leave me there by myself?"

If this had happened before, he would have panicked and apologized immediately.

Now...

Revan simply leaned back in his chair. "Are you finished?"

Teressa frowned. "What?"

"So that's all you came here for?"

"Of course!"

Revan gave a slight nod. "Then I've heard enough."

"And?"

"Then stop bothering me."

The office fell silent.

Billy and Teressa both froze.

"What do you mean?" Teressa asked in disbelief.

"I'm working." Revan reopened the folder on his desk. "If you're done, stop wasting my time."

Teressa's face turned pale. The man who used to chase after her no matter what wouldn't even spare her another glance.

Sensing something was off, Billy let out a small laugh in an attempt to ease the tension. "Revan, since when did you become so serious? Teressa just wants a little attention."

"Our wedding is only a week away," Revan said calmly. "I want to finish all my work before then, so I can focus on preparing for our wedding."

Those words instantly dissolved Teressa's anger.

Without looking up from the documents, Revan continued,

"Besides, the legal team is preparing the share transfer. There are still plenty of documents I need to sign."

He said it deliberately. He wanted to see their reaction.

Just as expected.

Teressa's eyes lit up. Without realizing it, she glanced at Billy.

Billy answered with a faint smile. It lasted only a moment. But that was enough for Revan to know his memories had never been wrong.

Behind his desk, Revan lowered his head and pretended to continue reading the documents. 'Enjoy your little fantasy while you can. That smile won't last much longer.'

Once the atmosphere had settled, Teressa returned to her usual sweet demeanor. "Then I forgive you."

She walked closer with a charming smile. "Oh, right. I want to buy some jewelry and a few handbags to use after the wedding. I'm almost out of money from last month."

Billy chuckled. "Come on, Revan. Don't be stingy. Your fiancée loves shopping."

Revan looked at Teressa for several seconds.

In his previous life, he would have handed her his black card without a second thought.

Now, every dollar he spent felt like feeding two traitors.

But he couldn't let them become suspicious yet.

He picked up his phone.

"How much?"

Teressa beamed. "Five million?"

Billy laughed before she could finish. "That's nowhere near enough. Make it ten million."

Teressa blushed and playfully tapped Billy's arm. "Billy really understands me."

Revan noticed the intimate interaction between them, yet he calmly entered the amount into his banking app.

A moment later, Teressa's phone chimed. She quickly checked the notification, and her eyes sparkled the instant she saw the deposit.

She smiled sweetly. "Revan, I knew you loved me the most."

Billy laughed. "I told you. Revan could never say no to you."

Without thinking, Teressa linked her arm through Billy's as they walked toward the door, as though it were second nature.

Only after taking a few steps did she realize what she'd done. She quickly let go of his arm and laughed awkwardly.

Billy merely smiled.

Meanwhile, Revan watched everything unfold without saying a single word.

After the door closed, a faint smile appeared at the corner of his lips.

"Spend as much as you want. It's your last chance to enjoy the Sterling family's money."

Then Revan called his assistant. It wasn't long before the man entered.

"How may I assist you, Director Sterling?"

Revan looked at him with quiet regret.

In his previous life, he had fired this loyal assistant simply because he had listened to Teressa.

The man had only warned him that the share transfer carried serious risks. But love had blinded him.

"Aston."

"Yes, Mr. Sterling?"

"Is the share transfer agreement ready?"

"Yes, sir. The legal team has already scheduled the signing for tomorrow."

Revan remained silent for several seconds before slowly letting out a breath. "Cancel it."

Aston froze. "S-Sir... if the agreement is canceled, then your marriage to Miss Teressa..."

Revan leaned back in his chair. "Leave it." His icy gaze settled on the share transfer documents lying on his desk. "Starting today, no one will take another thing from the Sterling family."

"Thank goodness..." Aston lowered his head. "I honestly thought you would never change your mind."
