Chapter 2 I should leave
Amber’s P.O.V. (Continued)
Because today was the day when he crushed my poor and innocent fifteen-year-old soul, which couldn’t understand why she was rejected, as rejecting a minor was a capital crime in our world.
I rained punches all over Carl’s face, his chest, and his abdomen, using all my strength. “Hit me now. What happened? Too stunned to react. Fight back, Carl. Fight back.” I shouted at him at the top of my lungs while punching his chest.
Every punch cracked a rib. He was an adult werewolf. He healed up quickly, giving me another chance to break those bones again.
No one around us spoke a word.
No one came forward to stop me.
They just watched me beating Carl without breathing.
Carl tried to cover his upper chest with his hands, but I punched his forearm like a maniac, breaking his bones there too. I knew that I lost my temper again when I shouldn’t have, but I didn’t care for the consequences.
He snarled in pain and grabbed my wrist. I didn’t give him a chance to act again. I moved my wrist, grabbed his wrist, slammed my hand under his arm, and flipped my body in a somersault, pulling his hand high with the movement of my hands.
My force raised his burly body over my shoulders, and with a powerful slam, his back and head hit the ground hard.
“Aaahhhhhhhhhhhh.” He screamed in pain again, twisting his body at weird angles to get some relief from his pain, but I didn’t let him take a breath of relief. I moved on my heel, placing my feet on both sides of his shoulders over his face, grabbed his forearm tightly, and with a merciless twist, I broke his shoulder.
He couldn’t even scream this time.
“What’s going on here?” I threw Carl’s hand to the ground harshly and walked away without having any intention of paying attention to Alpha Adrian’s presence.
“Stop right there, Amber.” He thundered, making me stop in my tracks. I didn’t have any wolf to heal me as quickly as they can, but I still heal quickly, just at a bit slower pace.
So, my chest was still hurting like hell. With all my brutal moves, I brought some pain to myself too.
“So, is this how you guys treat your fellow warrior, huh?” Adrian questioned angrily, but it only made me clench my fists tightly.
If it weren’t for him, would I have gone through so much humiliation and pain?
I slowly moved in his direction and found him standing near Carl. Carl was still writhing on the ground but couldn’t make a sound in fear.
“For how long does she need to prove herself to you guys? Almost every second day, one of you is found here lying in pain, and she walked away without any potential harm.” He continued roaring at them, and I just stared at him blankly.
Daniel, my brother, also entered the gym, and almost came running towards me, fear and worry evident on his face.
My body suddenly felt heavy and painful.
But I didn’t let my tears slip down my eyes. “Are you okay?” Daniel asked me worriedly while holding my arm. He looked from head to toe frantically.
“I am okay, Daniel. There is nothing that I can’t handle.” I assured him with a painful smile.
“How many times do I need to tell you guys that her wolf died protecting her in that rogue attack five years ago? She is not wolf-less. Her wolf did what she could do to save her woman. Ask your wolf if he or she is ready to do the same thing for you or not.” Adrian continued yelling at them, but I felt just revulsion towards him.
“It’s okay, Alpha. Their provocation also made me see my loopholes, and it also proved that they still need to work on their fighting and strategy skills. I don’t hate him for their provocation or their hatred towards them because this is something that made me stronger with every passing day.” I spoke to Adrian in a calm and composed tone, brushing off the whole incident, but not before taunting all of them that they are still beneath me in terms of skills and strategies.
Adrian growled at me in a fit of rage, but the coldness in my eyes made him suppress his anger.
“Take him to the infirmary and treat his wound.” Adrian barked orders while looking at Carl angrily.
Two warriors ran towards Carl hurriedly after Adrian stormed out of the gym.
“I am taking you home.” Daniel spoke to me angrily. “I am really okay, bro. Just take me to my cubicle. I assure you that I will be okay after a short rest.” I refused to go home immediately.
Because I didn’t want to be scolded by both my mother and my elder brother’s mate, Laila.
I had two brothers – David and Daniel. David’s mate is Laila, and Daniel is still unmated.
Daniel took over the beta position when David refused to take over the beta position. Adrian took over the alpha position from his father, Alpha Neil Summers, four years ago after finding his fated mate, Naisha Summers.
David started his business four years ago and was now running it successfully. Now I was also thinking about joining him in his business, leaving the pack, and staying in the human world.
I didn’t have a wolf; I could blend with the humans easily.
“Your ribs are again broken, Amber.” Daniel remarked worriedly while walking towards the cubicle.
“And it’s already healed.” I replied to him nonchalantly, but he glared hard at me.
“Come on, bro. They don’t know, but you know very well that these injuries are nothing to me.” I tried to cheer him up by bringing my secret.
He still glared at me but sighed in resignation. We reached the cubicles, and he took me inside it.
“Stay here and rest. I am going to get an ointment to apply there. Even if it’s healed, you will be in pain.” He instructed, and his voice became stern when I opened my mouth in protest.
After throwing a stern gaze on me, he walked out of the room. The room only had a bench, a long locker, and enough space to change clothes.
I lay down on the bench on my back and closed my eyes. I folded my legs so that I could lie comfortably.
I heard hurried footsteps outside the cubicle. This was the locker area for all the warriors and pack members who came here for training and workouts.
Mine was exclusive because of my family, and I don’t mind having this privilege.
Daniel returned with an ointment. I didn’t open my eyes. He slowly lifted the hem of my bra, exposing the area where I was brutally hurt.
“Damn it. I will kill him.” He muttered angrily while applying the ointment there.
I smiled while listening to him without opening my eyes.
“I never want you to leave home. You know that, right?” he suddenly asked me in a low and cautious voice.
