Chapter 4 she is gone
Amelia’s P.O.V. (Continued)
“She has beautiful eyes, Luca. They looked ugly with this lifeless expression.” Someone praised my eyes with disdain.
What an irony.
I wanted to laugh but I had no strength left in my body.
I was lying like a limped doll in his embrace, but my now blind eyes were still glued on the fading moon.
I swear that if I survive somehow, I will come back to get my revenge.
This shouldn’t be my end.
Not only me, but no other she-wolf deserves this treatment by her fated mate.
“I promise you, Goddess. Give me one chance to survive, and I will show that bastard hell. Just one chance. Please,” I pleaded in my heart, my consciousness fading with every passing second.
“I never blamed you for making me an orphan. I never complained to you about the harsh treatment I received all my life. My wolf was my only family, and I lost her before I even could listen her voice.”
I didn’t know what Marcus and others were talking about, but I could feel his anger because our bodies were in contact.
“One chance to live again, goddess. Just one chance to take my revenge on that ba*tard mate of mine.
No one’s P.O.V.
“I don’t think that she will survive, Luca. Her senses are already destroyed. The concentration of the wolfsbane in her body is so high that her blood is now burning me.” Marcus complained to their leader after Amelia fell unconscious.
Luca and others stopped in their tracks and looked at Amelia’s battered body with a complicated gaze.
“Give her to Arthur, then.” Luca suggested in a troubled tone. Arthur had worn a full-sleeve shirt. So, he hoped that the wolfsbane wouldn’t burn his skin through the fabric of shirt.
“Moving her body will be nothing but torture, Luca.” Marcus told him, troubled by what to do now.
He regretted wearing a cut-sleeve t-shirt now. His skin on his hands was already burned at every place where Amelia’s blood touched it.
Suddenly a loud roar shook the whole area.
“S**t. What the hell do they want now? Run.” Luca yelled and started running at full speed, followed by Marcus and others.
“A royal.” Marcus muttered when the second roar shook the whole forest.
“Cover yourself with mud.” Marcus yelled when they saw a pool of mud a short distance from them.
Without thinking once, they all jumped in the mud to cover their scent. This was their only shot to get away from whatever trap they had built for them.
Marcus jumped on a whim. Because of that, Amelia’s body was also thrown away from his embrace.
“Shit.” He cursed, but Arthur was faster than him. He caught her body in midair before his own body hit the mud.
He rolled while securing her in his embrace, covering both of them in the mud.
The thudding of paws at a good distance was now vibrating the earth beneath them.
They didn’t waste a second after covering themselves with mud and ran.
Fortunately, their jeep was also near to them.
Everyone jumped inside the jeep while Marcus took the wheel.
Their hearts were beating furiously but Marcus kept his cool and sped off.
Meanwhile, a large black wolf was ramming every tree coming his way.
The scent of the girl from last night was faint and it was making him frenzied. He roared while hitting a big tree with his snout, breaking it in one strike as he was on his way to reach that girl.
He stopped near the mud pool and sniffed harder, but to his dismay, there was no scent farther, except the normal smells of forest.
He snarled slowly while scanning the area. This part of the forest was dense. The ground was also covered with creepers, fallen trees, twigs, small plants and humidity.
It was already day, but this part of the forest was still dark.
Still, he found muddy footsteps, and he started running in that direction.
He was still late. His breath was ragged while he watched a particular vehicle vanishing at a distance when he reached the cliff. His dark black eyes watched that jeep coldly.
He was deceived. Whoever left those muddy footprints ran to the cliff, making the wolf follow in his footsteps, giving others the time to escape.
He howled aloud in anger and despair.
In his thirty years of life, he never felt this kind of helplessness before.
“We will find her. Sooner or later.” His wolf, Velan, said to him angrily.
“Sooner or later.” He repeated while shifting back into his human form.
A tall man, taller than six feet, stood at the edge of the cliff. His muscular naked body felt the dampness and warmth of the air, but his heart was cold.
His broad shoulders were tensed, and his muscular and toned chest was heaving badly.
His hands were hanging loosely on either side, but his fists were tightly clenched.
His black hair fluttered with the wind, but everything was still inside him.
His abdomen muscles flexed a few times, trying to ease that painful tightness in his abdomen that he has been feeling ever since he woke up this morning.
His beta approached him but stopped a distance behind him.
The air around them was cold and depressive despite the fact that it was now a bright morning.
He knew the reason for the distress of his alpha. He sighed internally while looking at the back of his head and took a deep breath before speaking.
“I investigated, Alpha. His people said that she is already on the verge of death. She just turned eighteen yesterday, and they had injected her with a very high concentration of wolfsbane before they.” The beta paused as he couldn’t find the words to say next.
He was as ruthless as the Alpha King standing in front of him, but when he heard from those people whom he just killed, his cold heart trembled so hard that he couldn’t breathe for a few seconds.
The Alpha King’s square jaw clenched so hard that he almost ground his molars. His cold eyes were still fixed in the same direction.
He had no connection with that girl except what happened last night. He owed her, but he also knew how badly she would be hurt by last night’s event. The amount of blood dried on his manhood and around it was enough to tell what happened to that girl.
“Here.” The beta slowly raised loose pants towards him.
The alpha king took that without removing his gaze from that same direction.
He put on the pants and took a deep breath.
“Let’s go. It’s time to settle the score.” He said in a cold and heavy voice before moving back.
She wasn’t the first woman with whom he had s*x, but the first one on whom he forced himself, unleashing his primal urge under the influence of drugs.
They didn’t only trample over that girl’s dignity but also humiliated her.
He stopped once again and glanced towards that distant road over his shoulder before moving back.
