Chapter 6 Chapter 6
Being cornered by the man who makes you look like a child who can easily be pinned down was scary, especially if he was a king whose words became the rule of the kingdom.
Thalina closed her eyes tightly the moment she felt his hot breath on her face. The fresh mint scent coming from King Thaddeus was tempting to sniff, but she had to control herself, or else the animal in front of him would eat her alive.
“Answer me, Thalina. How do you like to be punished?” he repeated, holding Thalina’s chin so their gazes could meet.
Thalina closed her eyes tightly hoping that it was just a nightmare that she could escape but after shutting her eyes for a few minutes and opening them again she realized that it wasn’t just a mere nightmare but a reality that she had to face.
“You can punish me however you want,” she bravely uttered while covering her body using her hands. “But you can’t claim me, King Thaddeus. I would rather choose death than have sex with you,”
His laughter roared in the room finding her response hilarious. She was different from other women she had met. Other women would even line up just to spend a night with him but Thalina would rather die than be pleasured.
It hurts his ego but he slowly comes to a realization. Maybe the reason why the Moon Goddess made Thalina his mate was to give him a lesson and a challenge, something that may last for a few days because he knows sooner or later the woman will give in to him.
“Don’t worry Thalina, I don’t force myself on women. I wait for them to beg and kneel in front of me before I claim them, something that you will do sooner,”
He is full of himself. That’s all Thalina can think of. He thinks too highly of himself which enraged Thalina even more. She hates it whenever he hears someone treating women as if they were something they can use and possess.
“Over my dead body, King Thaddeus,”
Even though she knew it would cause her death she slapped the king’s hand and pushed him on top of her and immediately got off the bed.
She stands on the corner a few steps away from the king.
“Think of other punishment and I will gladly do it because you will never see me kneel in front of you and beg to be bed,” she firmly uttered forgetting all her fear because all she could feel now was rage while looking at the King.
She can’t help but question how he became her mate when she couldn’t feel anything but rage while looking at him.
She should feel something while looking at the man but all she wanted to happen was to get rid of him.
“Let’s see if you can still keep that bravery once I give you your punishment Thalina,” King Thaddeus uttered slowly getting pissed at Thalina’s attitude.
He could feel his blood boiling and before he could even explode he stepped out of the room and headed towards the garden to get some fresh air and calm his mind.
The moment he managed to tame his anger he mindlinked his beta, Mathias and after a while, it came running and stood in front of him.
“Do you need anything King Thaddeus?” he asked anticipating an order.
He met his beta’s gaze and took a deep breath. “Bring Thalina to the forbidden forest,” he ordered making his beta’s forehead crease.
“Forbidden forest? The rouges' hideout?” he asked confirming if he heard his king’s order right.
Without hesitation, King Thaddeus nodded with a playful smile playing on his lips.
He can’t help but feel happy imagining the bravery in Thalina’s eyes slowly leaving and will be replaced with fear. He wanted to put the woman in her place and let her know that she shouldn’t mess with the king.
“What if he ends up dying King Thaddeus? You know how vicious those rouges are?”
King Thaddeus shook his head and confidently looked at his beta.
“She won’t die. I won’t let her die,” he firmly uttered.
Just like what the king ordered Thalina was brought to the forbidden forest where rouges were mostly seen.
Thalina could feel her knees wobble and fear started to creep into her system as the path toward the forest became darker.
“Where are you bringing me? Was it your King who ordered you to do this? Will you kill me here?”
She was brave when she talked about death earlier but now that she is close to facing it she couldn’t help but chicken out.
“What will you do to me?” she asked demanding an answer but instead of answering her question she was thrown on the ground and almost ended up eating the dried leaves.
“Rogues are often seen in this forest so don’t make a sound if you don’t want them to find you,” Mathias warned her, and before she could even say something they had already left, leaving her in the forbidden forest all alone.
Thalina could feel her eyes watering but before sobs could escape her lips she covered her mouth and walked towards the huge tree to hide herself.
She couldn’t see the way out because it was too dark so all she could do was lean against the hard tree trunk and wait for a miracle to happen.
“You can get through this Thalina. You can get out of this place. You can’t lose to that asshole,” she firmly uttered motivating herself but the last ounce of bravery left her body when she heard footsteps from a distance getting closer to her where she is.
“There is someone here. I can smell a little prey,” a deep voice uttered followed by a scary laughter that echoed in the entire forest.
Thalina covered her mouth even more afraid to make any sounds.
“Come out now little wolf. Don’t make this hard for me,”
The footsteps were getting closer.
Tears streamed down Thalina’s face as she tried to call her wolf but she could no longer feel it.
Her claws didn’t come out which scares her even more.
‘Thalia,’ she called her wolf in her mind but it wasn’t responding.
‘Thalia come out,’ she begged wanting to transform into her wolf form but nothing happened.
‘Thalia don’t do this to me,’
Tears fall from her eyes even more when even her claws refuse to come out.
“There you are little wolf,”
“Ahhhhhh!”
Thalina’s screams echoed in the forest the moment she saw blazing eyes looking at her.
She was about to run away when the rogue held her neck and pinned her against the tree.
“Are you ready to be my meal?” he asked looking at Thalina whose now shaking in fear.
Thalina tried to call her wolf again to save herself but just like earlier she didn’t feel it.
Accepting her death she closed her eyes waiting to be eaten by the rogue but instead of a pang on her neck she was dropped on the ground then it was followed by the loud sound of something cracking.
Upon opening her eyes she saw a blazing red gaze staring at her intently.
The moment the moonlight hit his face tears fell from Thalina’s eyes.
“You didn’t even fight? You just let him strangle you? Where is the brave Thalina who didn’t think twice of hitting me?” King Thaddeus asked unable to hide the rage in his voice but when he saw tears falling on his mate’s eyes his stare became gentle.
“I can’t. I can’t fight King Thaddeus,” she admitted with tears streaming down her face.
King Thaddeus’ forehead creased completely lost on her response. “What do you mean you can’t? You can scratch his face or something. Don’t you have claws?”
She fell silent but after a while, she broke the silence.
“I can’t feel my wolf, King Thaddeus. I can't transform,”
