I saw the doctor before Finnegan did.

My hand tightened in his shirt. He looked down at me, then followed my gaze and let me go.

James stood as she approached.

“I'm Dr. Brown,” she said. “I'm with the team looking after Ivy.”

I nodded, though I wasn't sure she needed an answer.
