Chapter 5 Payback
The man blink shocked, his face and white shirt now stained with red wine, the woman had also quieted from her pathetic crying, her mouth wide open.
“What the fuck?!” he growled.
“Oh, I'm sorry. I'm so fucking sorry, I didn't know how…” I started profusely trying to wipe his shirt with my hand, my face a mask of innocence. Something must have given me away because he quickly grabbed my hand.
“You did that on purpose,” he accused me, glaring at me.
“What?” I yanked my hand from his. “No, that was an accident, but are you…are you okay?” I asked with feign sympathy and regret, biting my lips to keep from laughing.
I could swear I didn't fool him, his gorgeous blazing green eyes narrowed on my face for a while, then slowly slid down, down and down, taking me all in. Then came back to my face with a question.
“Am I okay?” he drawled with an arch brow, answering my question with a question. Then he licked his lips slowly tasting the wine that has dripped down and wet his full lips.
My stomach fluttered and I hated it, I hated how effortlessly sexy he made it look. He's one of the dangerous ones.
“I'm fucking drowning in Cabernet Sauvignon, so you tell me, do I look okay?” he asked darkly.
I run my eyes over his now ruin white shirt, ignoring the scream of the pathetic woman by his side who is now hurling profanity at me and at the same time screaming at the waitress to get her a kleenex.
The restaurant was half full and currently all eyes are watching this spectacle. Though that's what I hated most, attention.
After all I've got a reputation to protect, there's something about men like this asshole that brings out the worst in me. Something that makes me irrationally angry, and makes me act impulsively.
Though I hadn't planned this I honestly don't have any regret, everyone had seen what happened though I'd make it look like an accident.
I doubt I fooled anyone, the stranger knew it, I knew it and probably so had the people here.
This was deliberate.
“No, but it's just wine. I'm sure you'll be alright, I apologize for the trouble I cost you though. I will gladly pay for a new shirt if you don't mind,” I walk back to my seat while he watches me with a dark arrogant brow raised up.
“Please take this,” I said, extending my credit card which I'd taken from my purse.
He glared at the card, a muscle in his jaw twitching. Then his eyes fix on my face.
I raise a single brow waiting for him to take the credit card.
“Go on.”
His eyes run all over me again before they narrowed. “Do I know you? You look familiar.”
What a bastard. I rolled my eyes. He probably did this to tons of women that he couldn't even remember how many he'd ruined and then dumped.
Why else would he ask me this question? He probably thought I was one of his conquest. I scoffed.
“No, I haven't had the pleasure.” Asshole I ended in my mind. He grinned.
“See, I know this wasn't an accident. I also know why you did that, little Red. I know your type, but you shouldn't have done that,” he replied with dark eyes.
“My type? What are you talking about…” I began with narrowed eyes.
I yelped when he yanked me to his body, smashing my much smaller frame against his rock hard body, his large hand around my waist.
He snagged a bottle of wine from the nearest table which was opposite mine and was occupied by a couple, who openly stared at us with wide eyes.
“Get your fucking hands off of me you asshole,” I yelled trying to free myself, my hands flat on his chest pushing but the man was like a brick wall.
“Hmm, Pinot Noir,” he drawled reading the label, then he smirked at me.
“Not Cabernet Sauvignon, but it would do,” he drawled, his hands tightening on my lower back.
“What are you… ?” I began, wide eyes glaring at him.
My words were drowned out by the deluge of wine raining down on my hair and body. Even knowing what was coming didn't prepare me for this.
He didn't stop until he'd empty the entire bottle on me. I sputter, trembling with rage, unfucking believable.
I shoved at him when it was over, but he didn't let go. I glared at him with hate so intense it was a surprise he didn't combust into flames, hard lips smashed into mine savagely taking me by surprise.
My whole body came to life, flames kindling. Instantly the heat was gone as quickly it came when he took his mouth away.
“Now we're even, Little Red,” he said, licking his lips. Then he took off his shirt which was more wet and ruined than it was before.
One button at a time, as though he was giving us a strip show, he opened my trembling hands and put it there.
Before he walked away with nothing but low riding jeans that clung to powerful thighs. His upper tattooed body was entirely bare to the world.
The pathetic woman chase after him. Right now though, I don't know who I'm more angry with between her and myself.
Everything had happened so fast for me to wrap my head around it, I was too shaken, too angry to do anything, only started at his back with utter anger and hate.
Standing there in the middle of a suddenly busy restaurant, everyone has gone back to their business though I could still feel eyes on me.
“Gianna, what the fuck happened to you?” I raise my murderous eyes and stare into Tessa who was standing at the door staring at me with a befuddled expression.
