Chapter 3 Ms. Sinclair Has Already Moved Out of the Villa

Quinn froze at his outburst, her burning anger doused like a bucket of cold water had been thrown on it, yet she was unwilling to just swallow it down.

Her eyes instantly reddened as she stamped her foot and shouted, "Brother, how can you take her side? She just called us brainless, said our heads are full of seawater. Who does she think she is? An abandoned child from a fallen family - if our Knight family hadn't taken her in, she probably wouldn't even have food to eat right now!"

Oliver pinched the bridge of his nose, clearly irritated by Quinn's hysteria.

He slammed the documents on his desk shut and said in a deep voice.

"First, she's still my wife in name, so it's not your place to boss her around. Second, watch your mouth and don't put your lack of manners on display. Third, stay out of this matter. Get out!"

"I won't!" Quinn's eyes were red with grievance and anger. "Brother, has she brainwashed you or something? She's divorcing you, and you're still protecting her? Claire is carrying your child - if she finds out, how heartbroken will she be!"

At the mention of Claire, Oliver's expression darkened, and the pressure around him dropped even lower.

He looked up at Quinn, his tone full of warning.

"Claire's business doesn't need your concern. Just do your own job. If you dare go looking for trouble with Aurora again, I'll cancel all your cards."

Quinn looked at him in disbelief, tears welling up in her eyes.

Oliver had never spoken to her so harshly before, but now because of Aurora, that troublemaker, he was even threatening to cut off her cards!

Feeling both angry and wronged, she covered her face and ran out of the office.

The office fell silent again. Oliver leaned back in his chair, the cigarette between his fingers still unlit.

He couldn't help but recall Aurora's calm, emotionless face when she signed the papers, and what Quinn had just said about her packing up to leave.

At this moment, his chest felt inexplicably tight, as if something was lodging there - not painful, but uncomfortable.

Meanwhile, Aurora walked out of the Knight family villa with her suitcase.

Standing at the entrance, feeling the warmth of the sunlight, even her breathing felt lighter.

After a moment's thought, she called her best friend Scarlett while walking.

The call was quickly answered, and Scarlett Kingsley's voice came through.

"Sweetheart, are you okay?"

She already knew about Aurora's divorce. "That bastard really is something else."

Hearing Scarlett defend her, Aurora didn't continue on that topic.

"Scarlett, I'm fine. I'm walking toward the north gate of the villa complex now. Can you come pick me up?"

"Sure, I'll be right there."

Scarlett agreed immediately.

They had already arranged for Aurora to stay at her place temporarily.

Aurora didn't stop, walking forward without looking back.

She had just reached the north gate and hadn't waited long when Scarlett's car pulled up in front of her.

Scarlett got out of the car and seeing Aurora with only a small suitcase, her eyes instantly reddened.

"Sweetheart, why did you only bring this little? Why didn't you take the Knight family's stuff? You deserve all of it!"

"Those things, I don't care about them."

Aurora smiled, bent down and got in the car. "Rather than let those material things drag me down, I'd rather just let go."

It was unclear whether she was only talking about possessions, or about people too.

Seeing her put on a brave face, Scarlett's heart ached even more.

But she didn't want to touch Aurora's sore spot right now, so she changed the subject while driving.

"Fine, we don't need them. From now on, stick with me - I'll take care of you! Oh, that intellectual property case you took on, the legal team just gave me news. The chain of evidence is complete, the trial is next month, and we have at least an 80% chance of winning!"

Aurora's eyes lit up at the news.

This case was the biggest one she had taken on after the Sinclair family's downfall, built up step by step through her own efforts. It was also her best chance to prove herself.

If she could win, her legal career would definitely reach new heights, and she could establish herself in the industry, no longer needing to depend on others.

"Really?" she asked excitedly.

"Would I lie to you?" Scarlett raised her chin proudly. "Look whose best friend I am. You pulled so many all-nighters on this case, put in so much effort - winning is only natural. When the case is over, I'll take you out to celebrate and really relax."

Aurora nodded with a light laugh, watching the scenery fly by outside the window, the gloom in her heart lifting considerably.

Yes, her life would only get better, not worse.

At that moment in Knight Group's office, Oliver's assistant knocked and entered, holding a report.

"Mr. Knight, Ms. Sinclair has moved out of the villa. Also... she listed her wedding ring on a secondhand platform, and someone has already bought it."

As soon as the assistant finished speaking, the temperature around Oliver dropped to freezing.

He looked up sharply, his eyes full of anger.

"What did you say?"

Oliver's voice was hoarse and low, filled with suppressed fury.

"Where did she move to? She actually dared to sell the wedding ring!"

He had thought that even if Aurora signed the divorce agreement, she would use Grandpa as an excuse to stay in the villa, or even cling to him desperately. He never expected her to leave so decisively, even selling the wedding ring without hesitation.

Those three years of marriage seemed worthless to her.

"We don't know where Ms. Sinclair moved to yet. The secondhand platform information is anonymous."

The assistant kept his head down, not daring to look at Oliver's eyes.

Oliver stood up abruptly, grabbed his phone from the desk, and called Aurora directly.

The phone rang a few times before being answered.

"Aurora, who do you think you are?"

As soon as she answered, Oliver launched into accusations.

"Moving out of the villa without telling me is one thing, but you even dared to sell the wedding ring. Do you have any regard for me as your husband?"

Hearing his words, Aurora only found it laughable.

She leaned back on Scarlett's sofa, her tone flat.

"Mr. Knight, we've already signed the divorce agreement. We're only husband and wife in name. Where I move to, whether I sell the wedding ring - none of that has anything to do with you."

"You!"

Oliver was left speechless by her retort, his anger intensifying.

"Mr. Knight, if you don't have anything important, please don't call me."

She was about to hang up when, at the critical moment, Oliver brought up Grandpa.

"Grandpa wants to see us. Come back with me tonight."

His tone was still commanding.

"Seven o'clock tonight at the old mansion. Don't be late."

Hearing Oliver's cold, hard voice on the other end, Aurora's brows furrowed slightly.
