Chapter 7 She is Livid

CALEB’S POV

As we reached to the pack house, I unlocked the door hopping out of the car and headed towards my office that was on the second floor of the pack house. I know, I should have stayed for my mate and welcomed her properly in our pack but these rogue attacks were the more important matter and I had to discuss it with any of the council member available, before all of them gets busy with their work and I had to wait for another day.

‘Our mate is angry and upset, I could feel Irene’s sadness’ I rolled my eyes while dialing the number of council through the phone.

‘We will handle it Kaden. This is important, don’t forget we left few rogues injured’ Kaden groaned in annoyance knowing very well I was right at this point and that was the reason he sat back quietly letting me to handle the issue in my own way.

‘Hello, Alpha Caleb Donovan is speaking from Creek Star Pack. I want to talk to any of the council member’ my thick voice echoed in the room, the person on other call greeted me very well after listening to my introduction. Although I did not need any introduction for the council to remember, my name alone was enough. My hard work for this pack, bravery and for being daring on taking the risky decisions had made me the star Alpha for the council and they are very much relying on me for the matter of Rogues.

‘Greetings Alpha! Unfortunately, all the members are busy right now. You can pass on the message to me and I will forward it to them’ the girl on the other side of the call said. I bit the inside of my cheek, because if I would not do that, harsh words are going to escape through my mouth and I will have no control over them.

‘It is about rogue’s attack, which me, my mate and my men have suffered in the night while on the way coming back to my pack and I want to discuss this with council member personally. I will appreciate if you will transfer the call to any available person’ I tried my best to keep my voice normal and not sound rude and angry.

‘Oh my! Is anyone of you badly injured? I am hoping that you don’t have any death to report?’ I rubbed my temple with the index finger, council need to work on their reception who must understand the severity of the situation. I heard Kaden giggling in my mind obviously enjoying my irritation, that bastard beast inside me always gets happy when I am frustrated.

While I was busy in debating with that dumb woman or girl, whoever she was, going through the torture of listening to Kaden’s continuous giggling simultaneously when all of sudden Kaden went quiet, a deep silent in fact I felt the pain, it was light though. What the hell had happened to him, did his stomach hurts after laughing for so long at me?

‘What happened to you, tired of laughing?’ I asked him, although I could feel his pain but I made myself sound like very calm and cool.

‘Lilith is coming here. Irene had told her that you don’t accept her as mate’ my eyes widened in shock and without paying any attention to the call what that lady was saying to me I ends the call abruptly and yelled at him.

‘I never said I will reject her’ Kaden hissed.

‘But you will not mate with her either’ I nodded, yes that was what I said to him. Wait a minute, now it clicked to me.

‘How she knows that? This has been shared between us only. Not even Ethan and Noah knows about it’ I rested my hands on my hips, putting emphasis on us. I was looking the front wall with squinted eyes as if Kaden was physically standing there with hanging his head low, totally embarrassed for betraying me.

‘I am sorry Caleb. I couldn’t hide it from my mate’ I heard the meekly voice of my beast.

‘Seriously Kaden. You betrayed me. Now what is she gonna do? Force me to reject her? Ask from your Irene to tell you like you told her and let me know’ I mocked him in the end, getting tensed. I could hear the dragging of bags and steps coming toward my office and next I inhaled the lovely fragrance of my mate, which had put very calming and relaxing effect on my nerves but at the same time my muscles had gotten tensed.

It was not like I intended to make her fool. I would have come clean and clear about our relationship to her before her Luna ceremony but I was not expecting it to be happen so soon and was not at all ready to deal with her for this matter now, immediately right after reaching to our pack.

I shouted again at Kaden. His stupid love to his mate had pushed me in trouble. I don’t know anything about her, and have no idea what is she gonna do once enter in to my office. I exhaled exasperatedly and run my hand at my nape, when the door of my office was burst open. Since we all are sensitive to voice due to our very good hearing skill we all flinch at the thudding sound, including her, that had produced after the door hit the wall with pressure.

‘Sorry Alpha, Luna wanted to see you. I tried to convince her but’ Noah was holding her suit cases handles in his hand and before anyone from us has spoken, he came forward to explain me knowing how much I hate the interruption while I am working and these days the rogues had already messed up with us Alpha’s minds so the fear on his face was genuine.

‘That is okay Noah. She is Luna and does not requires anyone’s permission’ I said to Noah but tilted my head to lock my eyes with her beautiful face that has a sarcastic smile on her face as if she was making fun of me.

‘Luna? Who is Luna here Alpha Caleb?’ I blinked my eyes while still looking to her face.

‘Answer me Caleb!’ she clenched her teeth and her hands fisted. The way she has called my name, I closed my eyes and reminded how my name rolled on her tongue and sounded perfect and awesome.

‘Mate is livid Caleb’ I would have taken more time to enjoy but thanks to Kaden who interrupted and brought me back to reality where my mate was giving me deathly stare.
