Chapter 4

Three days later, Ethan came home.

He opened the bedroom door and saw me sitting at the vanity, organizing my things.

He placed his luggage down, loosened his tie, and sat on the edge of the bed, observing me.

After our marriage, I had always enjoyed doing housework, organizing things, and making small treats.

If it weren’t for the title of Mrs. Anderson, in Ethan’s eyes, I would have been no different from a housekeeper.

I didn’t speak for a long time. Ethan, coming back from his business trip, was tired, and seeing me silent, he didn’t bother to speak either.

He walked straight into the walk-in closet, grabbed a bathrobe, and went to the bathroom.

While showering, perhaps he thought that with my soft nature, I’d calm down after he was done and would go back to being a gentle wife.

He was so confident that I would always love him like this.

So, when he came out of the bathroom and found his suitcase still in the same place, he realized it was time to have a conversation with me.

Ethan sat down on the couch, casually grabbed a magazine, and after a long while, he looked up at me and spoke.

“How’s your dad’s condition?”

“I’ve already reprimanded Secretary Quinn about that night.”

He spoke lightly, with no sincerity.

I put down the things in my hand, raised my eyes, and met his gaze in the mirror.

In the mirror, Ethan’s features were deep, and his aura was noble. Even in a bathrobe, he wore it better than anyone else.

I stared at him for a long time, until my eyes were sore, and then calmly said.

“Ethan, let’s get a divorce.”
