Chapter 67
Sabrina's POV
I got to the location. It was a building that had not been furnished, still in its natural elements. It wasn't even so far from the mansion but the distance was reasonable. I noticed another building a couple of meters away from this one, but similar.
I just expected something farther. Marcus was nowhere in sight.
“I'm here, Kyle. Can you hear me?” I asked subtly and quietly so wherever Laura was, she wouldn't notice.
He responded almost immediately like he had been waiting.
“Yes, any news? Anything amiss?”
“Not yet. I'm going in.” I opened the door of the building and walked in. My mouth fell open. The bombs were bigger than what they looked like in the photos. I couldn't believe my eyes. I walked further, and came face to face with my now arch enemy, Laura.
“You made it, yay! Come have a seat!” She chirped excitedly, and it scared the shit out of me. Why the hell was she so happy? True, she was holding the remotes and had set the bomb off.
I honored her invite and sat opposite her by the table.
“Where's Marcus?”
“Why? Do you still miss your ex husband? Too bad he's mine now.” She pouted, and it physically made me sick.
“Last time I checked, you hated him. Why am I here, and where's mom?” I tried not to panic, but I wasn't sure I was making progress with it.
“Somewhere far away, if not just behind me. I don't know. But she's definitely not doing fine. I starved her after she refused to stand by me. She chose you. Why would anyone choose you when I'm the real one?” She glared at me, her voice cracked, but I already knew how her tantrums went and I certainly didn't come all the way to hear that from her at all.
“Let's not get emotional here. Just tell me where she is so I can take her and leave. I promise we'll stop looking for you to arrest you concerning everything you've already done. We'll let you go peacefully, just let her out.”
She looked at me then burst into laughter.
“Surely you don't think I'm stupid, Sabrina. You would do no such thing, and that's why you're here.”
Just then, I felt strong hands on my shoulders, pressing them. They tensed up, and I realized that I recognized the scent before I even saw the person. This was a man I had made love to multiple times, of course I knew his touch. But now, it was disgusting. Why did he have his hands on me?
“Thanks for getting your sister here. Our deal is done here. Let me fuck her, and then you kill her.” And then he rounded and stood beside me on the table.
“What?” I asked. Kill? Kill?
I couldn't believe my ears. She brought me here so Marcus would rape me and then kill me? It wasn't a fair fight at all.
“You heard him. He's all yours.” She got off the table and began to walk away.
“Wait. Wait please, don't do this. Please don't let him touch me. You guys are together!” I began to panic and beg, even though I knew she would never listen to me.
“Together? Hell no. We made a deal!”
“What's going on? Say something! What's happening?” Kyle began to ask, but I was too shaken to speak as Marcus actually began to pull down the straps of my dress. I know he had seen me naked but that was over eight years ago. It was different and fresh. I couldn't let it happen, so I yelled back to Kyle.
“Molestation!” I cried out.
“I'm coming, I don't give a fuck!” He yelled and I just nodded. Anything at all, I just wanted to be out of there.
Laura came back.
“On second thought, I think I want to watch. You saw my sex tape, so I should see yours too, live.”
The fact that I was pregnant made me feel physically sick. Marcus had pulled down the straps of my dress, and from behind, he leaned in and began to kiss my naked back.
“Please. Please stop. I beg.” My voice was almost breathless from shock, and I had no idea how to get so mad so I would defend myself. I was just still as he touched me.
He didn't stop.
“You know, I'm gonna set mum on fire.”
Laura spoke, bored, staring at her fresh manicure.
“Where is she?” I gritted my teeth and pushed Marcus off me, disgusted. He hit me on my back, dragged me back to him and continued. It hurt. It stung, I began to shed tears helplessly.
“I guess now it doesn't matter. She's in the next building. If you can get to her, how about you go save her? Huh?”
She was mocking me. I hoped Kyle had just heard what she said. Still, it gave me a new found energy. I would distract and elongate this as much as possible. I hoped Kyle would be smart enough to understand that I could handle myself and that he needed to get my mum first.
“We don't have to do this. And you, get off me! You disgust me!” I pushed Marcus off me again and took steps back, creating as much distance as I could, but he caught up with me.
“It seems you don't like it slow and easy. Fine, let me burst you open with my cock. I'm sure you remember it.”
Funny. Really funny. Now he had me pinned against the wall, but all I could think about was his threat. I used to think his cock was the greatest and I was used to begging him for sex. But sex with Kyle? Different, primal. In the midst of everything, I wanted Kyle.
I burst into laughter, so for a moment there he got off me.
“What's so funny?” Then he slapped me across the face.
“Tell me, what's so funny?” I decided to rile him up, the slap stinging.
“He fucks me better. He's the best.”
“Who?”
“Kyle Hunter. My lovely husband. You can never measure up, Marcus, no matter what you do!”
Then I felt my head hit the wall and I came crashing down on the floor. He kicked me twice, then he let me go and walked away, yelling at the top of his lungs in pure frustration. It was funny to me now, the adrenaline pumping but I sure knew I would soon need medical attention.
“You chased him away. You're right about one thing though, sex with him isn't impressive. On top of that he's sterile?”
She scoffed, disgusted, shocking me.
“What a silly man.” Then she shook her head. She squatted to my level, then grabbed my chin harshly. She assessed my assaulted face and smiled.
“You look pretty, Sabrina. Really pretty, all red.”
“You'll pay for everything. I promise.”
“Oh my, I'm shaking.” She mocked me, then rose to her feet. Kyle would've reached here by now. If he wasn't here, then he was rescuing my mother.
“I wonder what happened to you. Between the two of us, tell me. I used to take care of you when mum was too busy for you. Why do you hate me this much? Why?”
It was going to be the last time I would ever ask her. I was so done.
“Why do I hate you? Sabrina? I don't hate you. You're just easy to bully, that's all. Yeah sure, you took care of me and all, but I never asked. Did I ask?”
“Laura–”
“You're the fake one. I wanted you gone but instead you stayed and cared for me when I was fine taking care of myself. You ran away then left me when I was beginning to get used to you. You left for two years. I heard you got married, I reached out, you took me in, so I stole your husband from you. You left me. That's what you did. You left me when I didn't need you!” She raised her voice at me and I don't know why, but I trembled a bit.
She was either lying or her memory was messed up. I ran away because I was surely going to get killed. I wanted to take her with me, but she said no, twice. Now it's my fault? So she's been bullying me because of this?”
Turns out, she was never a flower. She was always a thorn in disguise. All she needed was a matter of time to go into full blown rotten. As hard as it was to let go, it was time for me to stop caring.
“We've gotten her out of there and we've surrounded the building. Marcus has been arrested. I can't wait to hit the fuck out of him for touching my wife.” Kyle said finally, and I heaved a sigh of relief. Too bad, it didn't go unnoticed. She heard.
“What was that? Who are you talking to?”
I went into panic mode. She had caught me. She immediately reached for my head and retrieved the communication device.
She gnashed her teeth as she rose to her feet and stomped on it with all her might.
“Sabrina!” She screamed, all her veins popping out of her forehead. It looked cinematic.
“What have you done!”
“It was never a fair game, was it?”
“I don't care what you've done, but just know I'm going to blow Mom up for this.”
I burst into a fit of laughter. I couldn't stop laughing and she kept staring at me like I was crazy. Maybe I was going crazy after all.
“You'll have to have her to hurt her, Laura.”
Her eyes widened in realization but she immediately composed.
“I'll blow us up!”
“You're scared of dying the most. You wouldn't. Just take my hands, let's go out together then you pay for your sins.”
While she was in her feelings, I snatched the detonator, stopped the count down, then smashed it within seconds with a strength I didn't know I had.
It all happened so fast, she didn't know how to act or process it.
“You're finished now, aren't you? Any more tricks?”
I had finally won. At least that's what I thought. She crashed to the ground and as I tried to get up to leave, she slashed my legs with a pocket knife.
“I told you I would kill you, you evil witch!”
Blood began to gush out of me instantly, and I fell to the ground again, in pain.
She laughed maniacally as she continued to slice my legs with the knife while I tried to crawl to the door. She sliced with precision, my veins, everything.
“You won't survive this, so quit trying to escape! After everything, this is your end! You lost! I won! You destroyed my bomb so you'll die! Yes, finally you're gone! I'm the happiest!” She yelled, dragging me back, my skin tearing as I cried out in pain, helpless. Was this truly the end for me?
“Kyle! Kyle! Help me! Come inside! Kyle!” I screamed at the top of my lungs. Could he even hear me?
“Oh you poor thing!” She kept on laughing, and it was sickening.
I had bled out a whole lot and just when I thought I was going to die, the door burst open and guards rushed Laura. Kyle rushed me and picked me up, and that was the last thing I saw before I lost consciousness.
