Chapter 3 CHAPTER THREE
CHAPTER THREE
ZARIA’S POV
My head hurt when I woke up, and I felt a persistent swaying of a carriage. I felt a dull pain at the back of my skull, a pleasant present for the day, as I am now legally and unhappily married to the biggest scumbag in the entire pack.
I sat up and noticed I wasn't wearing my old black dress anymore. I had on a beautiful red dress, I ran my hands through the fabric, which was soft and felt expensive.
I also noticed my hair was neatly braided, who would have done this?
Then I saw him, through the corners of my eyes.
“Fuck, Max changed my clothes” I panicked, as I felt a huge swell of anger growing at the pit of my stomach.
He was sitting across from me, resting one arm at the back of the seat. He was wearing a black expensive suit, which I didn't notice earlier. He eyes were focused on something outside the window.
“You are awake,” He said, without looking at me.
“Where the fuck are we,” I growled at him, I was pissed at the fact that someone had moved me while I was unconscious. “And who changed my clothes? I swear if you touched me…”
“I would not even touch you when I'm sober,” He sneered, interrupting me.
“Then who did?” I yelled, trying to ignore his rude comment.
He finally diverted his gaze to me, his eyes, dark, cold, and filled with the usual pride.
“Calm down Luna,” He said, making the title sound like mockery, “My mother had you moved and changed, you can save your yelling for another time”
I heaved a sigh of relief, Only the thought of Max’s hands on my skin is traumatizing.
“I can yell if I want,” I snapped at him. “First, I am told I am stuck with you for one year, then I get kidnapped and changed! And stop calling me Luna! I don’t want that name!"
“It is a name you stole, so you will use it” “He shot back, and I could tell he was enjoying the way I was getting pissed. “You are the Alpha’s mate for the trial year, you passed out like a weak Omega, we could not let the Luna come to the palace looking like a messy servant, it would make me look bad”
I could hear mockery in his every word, I held the seat tightly, trying to suppress my anger, but I couldn't.
“I didn't steal anything, and honestly, I would rather die, than be stuck in an unhappy marriage with a mean, stupid bully who I hate,” I cried out.
His eyes turned red and narrow and I could feel his anger growing, he shot me a deadly glare.
“WATCH YOUR TONE!” He growled, and I felt a shiver down my spine.
I had never seen him that angry, and it was frightening as fuck, I grabbed the soft seat and looked outside the window, throughout the remaining journey.
Soon the carriage began to slow down.
“Zaria” Max called my name, coldly.
I turned to look at him, and his eyes were calm now.
“We are going to be in a trial marriage for a year,” He said, coldly. “We must act like we are happy for the pack, if we don't, it would hurt my family’s name,”
“One year, that is all we have to live through,” I agreed.
The carriage door opened and Max stepped out.
He turned to look at me and walked away without offering to help me out.
“I thought we were pretending to be happy,” I mocked, as I helped myself out.
I was short of breath, the yard of the Alpha’s palace was not just huge and beautiful, but was filled with hundreds of guards, maids, servants, and even leaders, all standing perfectly still.
As I took my first step, every head went down.
They were bowing to me.
After being treated like a maid in my father’s house, seeing these people bow to me made me feel dizzy.
“Welcome Luna Zaria,” A woman, with grey hair and a kind face, said stepping forward. She was wearing a dark blue uniform, different from the others.
“I am Elara, the head housekeeper, the Alpha’s chamber is ready for you, please follow me” She smiled at me and I gave her a slight nod, I didn't want to say something wrong.
She led me into a big hallway and up a high staircase, and I kept feeding my eyes with the beautiful designs of the palace.
Soon, we stopped at a large dark wooden door, “This is your room, Luna,” Elara said, bowing again before she left.
I pushed the door open. The room was massive, it was the size of my whole old house. It had a huge bed which looked soft, a big fireplace, and a small library area.
I walked into the middle of the room. It felt strange and too much. This was supposed to be Gwen's life.
Just as I was looking around, the door opened suddenly and Max walked in.
He closed the door and stood against it, crossing his arms on his chest.
“Enjoying your new jail?” he asked, looking around the room.
“This is kind of too much,” I said, “The room is very huge”
“Maybe” he scoffed, walking towards the huge bed, “But an Alpha needs the best, and you my Luna, would be sharing it with him”
I felt a huge lump in my throat, what the hell does he mean by that?
“Sharing what? The palace right?” I asked to be certain I didn't mishear.
He gave me a cruel smile, enjoying my sudden discomfort. He stopped next to the huge bed and sat gracefully on it.
“No, my dear Luna,” He said, making a mockery of the title again. “We are only using this one room. It is the rule for the Alpha and his bride, we will be sharing this room."
I took a nervous step back. One year. In this room. With him?
"W-we are sharing a room?” I whispered, and he nodded slowly.
This one year of my life would certainly be a nightmare for me.
