Chapter 007
Akira's POV
"A certain what?" I sighed as the line died off, without her words were completed, 'What will I be doing with the news that is going on with him on the internet, rich and popular guys always get into the news is not a new thing,' I murmured as I threw my phone on the other side of the bed before pulling the duvet to cover myself.
I needed to sleep; I had to go to work tomorrow, and I didn't want to be late, recalling that my boss is a handsome monster.
It didn't take long before morning came rushing, I didn't want to have any issues with Mother this morning before resuming my first day at work and since I did not have enough money for a cab, I took the metropolitan bus, so I decided to leave earlier than the time she would wake up so I could catch an early bus.
I just got off the bus when my phone pinged; first, it was from Mother, and then Vida.
[Why did you sleep off on me? My line died when I was talking to you, and I tried calling you when I was able to power my phone, but you were nowhere to be found. Anyways, silly girl, I sent you a clip of the video of your gorgeous boss. Let me know what you think about the girl's attitude when you are done watching. ~ Vida]
'This girl!' I said mentally as I slipped my phone into my bag, taking a deep breath before I made my way into the company building, I didn't bother to watch the video that Vida claimed she sent me.
I was approaching the receptionist; she was different from the female I met yesterday, and it made me wonder what had happened to her. 'Was she fired already?' I asked no one in particular; I approached her desk, giving her a sweet smile, hoping she would raise her head to look at me when she heard the sound of footsteps.
"Deliveries used the freight elevator," she said without even glancing at me.
"Actually, I am Mr. Wolfie's new assistant," I said, she raised her head and stared at me in disgust.
"You? You are the girl they hired?" She said still having that disgusting look.
"Yep! Here is my employment contract and I start today." I pushed my employment letter to her. I know I shouldn't be doing that; the HR department was the one to receive my employment letter, not her, but this was the only way I think I could get past her.
"Okay, I do not care where you get this, but you, I didn't get any information about that, and as the HR personnel, I have already hired an assistant for him and it's not you." She tore the documents right in front of me, and now I get it: she is under the HR department, but what the fuck is she doing here at the reception?
"Now how can you do that..."
"Listen, you stray. Logan and I go way back, and he is not going to do anything to upset me, above all. I know the kind of girls he likes, and you are not one of them. He likes them hot and spicy. So if I were you, I would find my way out of here before you get me pissed off."
I stared at her without expression. "Get out of my face?" She barked.
"Look, I do not care about the kind of relationship you have with him. I am just here to do my job."
"Just as you didn't know that, you are one of the twenty-nine females who will show up here saying that you are his assistant who wouldn't last up to a day. Please, drop the act, you are not better than them all..." Her desk phone rang suddenly; she sighed and picked up.
"Hello, Sir Logan! Good morning..." She said, smiling like a stray dog.
'What the fuck is wrong with her? He can't even see her?' I said mentally, finding her smile irritating.
"One of your strays found her way back, I don't know which one of your stupid dogs employed her, but I know that you don't..."
"I did..." The look in her eyes was frustrating, and she was acting like she was about to puke, but she masked her expression and then screamed.
"What?"
"Yes, I am the senseless dog that hired her, so let her fucking come to my office and you are fired." He said his voice thick and chill
"Oh, please, I can't be fired, I beg you...
"Do as you are told, pack all your stuff, and leave the company, I don't want to see you anywhere around my company and you have nothing to worry about, the head of the HR department will process your final paycheck because you won't be working with us anymore...thanks for your service."
"No..." I saw her eyes clouded with tears that were already falling. She rushed to me and pulled my hand. "Please talk to Mr. Logan. I can't lose this job; my family depends on me." My eyes widened when I saw her fall to her knees, 'I don't get it. Didn't she say that she knew Mr. Logan? Why would he fire her like that?' I was making a mental note when the security guard walked in and pulled her. One of his staff who was there walked closer to me and whispered to me.
"If I were you, I would not feel pity for that lady, and mind you, the more you stand here, the more your chances of ending up like that Lady." He said, and I understood him: my chances of being fired. I hurried towards the elevator, but then an ad posted at the entrance caught my attention.
"Fuck!" I cursed as I realized something, my eyes were fixed on it, and the picture of the man in the ad was like my brain was going to explode. 'No,' I said mentally. The man in the picture is the same man from yesterday that I have bossed around and referred to as my boyfriend.
'Was that Mr. Wolfie? Why the fuck was he masked? No wonder his eyes look familiar.' I hit my head in disbelief, it can't be.
"Is this some kind of joke?" It's Wolfie; he was the one. I jumped on, claiming that he was my boyfriend and he was the one. I was bossy around.
My heart palpitations increased, and I was hoping it wasn't him that I had acted so stupidly with, and gracious me, I even told him that my boss was a handsome monster.
Suddenly, I remembered that Vida was ranting about some video of Mr. Wolfie and a girl, I grabbed my phone and searched for the supposed video that Vida sent me and my jaw dropped, although my face wasn't captured, it was crystal clear, that it was me in that picture and Mr. Wolfie was the one, I bossy.
'Oh, Akira, what the heck did you do?' I berated myself.
'It is a dead end; no need to wait for him to fire me. I am fired already.' I said mentally, adjusting my handbag on my shoulder carefully before I turned to leave. It's better to leave than to face that Humiliating situation.
"Where are you going? Did you just fire yourself?"
